Even if he applied in november, the certifcate won't still be ready by now, it'll take another 6months and fbn said somthing about waec issuing a document tenderable for the mean time. They know dat these thing takes a while so they'll understand if you've started the proceSs. It is better than just not doing anything about the error at all.

I'll go to The lagos branch of waec office today and try and sort myself out

Hi fredugo, please when did you go to waec office? Mine is my original GCE cert so I don't know if it'll be the same protocol. Meanwhile I heard waec issues a document to you to serve as evidence that you have applied for rectification, so am surprised u said they collected urs wtout issuing anything to you. I really think you should go back to their office and explain to them the urgency of the matter.

And please if you can help me with directions to waec office I'll appreciate it. Thanks

jaymedd: thanks boss. i got an email this mornin showin me the essay topics to write on, nd they'reexactly like urs... i think they changed d order with mine... coz av not done any interview yet, jst d questionaire thing

The stages vary for some batches, some had their essays before the one on one interview and vice versa, but the last and final stage is d head of hr one on one interview.

About the 1million naira target, if u are successful after the hr one on one interview, u will get a mail telling you that you have to open ten accounts for new customers with nothn less dan a hundred thousand naira each in their accounts which will bring give you a cumm of 1million naira. You will be given two weeks deadline and if u don't meet up with d deadline, u'll be dropped. If u check some nairaland threads abt access bank you'll know more abt d target thingy. But I didn't get such a mail dats y am still wondering if I havnt been dropped. Well like I said my fingers r still crossed.

They tell you by email. I got an email two days later inviting me for the one on one interview. I wrote my test with access bank on the 25th of october last year and had my final interview with them on the 18th of december.. So the whole process took like a month plus. But there was like a week interval btw each stages. It was kinda fast until after I submitted my essay, it took them 3weeks to get back to us for the final stage.

But I am yet to know whether my final stage was successful or not because they have not sent me any regret mail or successful message. I know some people who were given the 1million naira target dat same day so I don't know why me and a few peeps were an exception.

I know this post is late. But for others who are yet to fill the hr questionnaire, its just a five page questionnaire that contains all kinds of question you can think of. You will be given 3hours or so to fill the questionnaire. It contains questions like 'where do you see yourself in the next 5years, what are your core values, what do you know about access bank, what were your personal acheivements in school etc. I have forgotten most of the questions because there was a lot that day and you will be asked not to leave any question blank. At a point I was repeating d points I gave in the questions I answered before for another.

The next stage after this hr questionnaire filling stage was the one-on-one interview. I was asked a few questions at their headquarters about my self, what my parents were into, how many siblings I had, in short it was all background related.

I scaled through the one one one interview and got invited for the panel interview. It was a two-man panel with two staff members, they asked me questions about my self, my previous work experience, if I am a go getter, they even asked me about current issues happening in Nigeria and I talked about the ASUU strike. The questions varied and at the end the two of them asked me if I had any question for them, I asked them what is the motivating factor for them at their workplace.

I scaled through the panel interview and got an email with four essay topics to write on and was given 3days deadline to submit it. The topics were why I want to sign a training bond, why access bank, my alignment with the core values of the bank and what my contributions will be to the bank when I eventuall joined.

I scaled through the essay stage. I submitted soft copies to the email addresses sent to me by their hr personnel and also hard copies of the essays to their head office.

I got invited for the final stage which is the one on one interview with the HEAD OF HR DEPARTMENT. She is a lady and I did that interview on the 18th of december. She just asked me two questions. 'Introduce yourself and why access bank'. I answered those questions very well( to the best of my knowledge)..

So right now my fingers are crossed . I am waiting for a positive feedback.

And regards the 2million naira target. I wasn't given any, and I know a few friends who also did this last stage interview and nothing like dat was mentioned. I don't know if the target thingy has been scrapped or maybe we were just lucky. I don't know yet$

But I haven't gotten any other mail as to whether the last stage was successful. But I am very positive dat I did well and we may be invited for training school this month.

Ve bEen sitting in a corner sipping my cold glass of Zobo while observing d tension on this thread. Everyone shud chill, remember how we all forgot abt fbn after writing d test and didn't hear from dem, and voila! After 4months their msg came like a bonus package? My point is we shud at dis point act like there's nothn to lose and take our minds off fbn for now. The msg may or may not come dis week, hell they may have decided to suspend everythn till january, so let's nt get ourselves worked up. People who have issues wt birth certs and waec certs e.g me *covers face* should use dis "extra time" to sort themselves out. Signing out, One love

One of FBN's requirement said dat we must have our nysc discharge certificate or an exemption certificate..so if you don't have any of that and you proceed with documentation, dat automatically disqualifies you..unless there is a way you can plead with them to defer your recruitment to join d next batch and by then u'll have ur discharge cert..that is assuming the trainin will be in batches..but I don't know if fbn is dat considerate cos they really sounded very strict during d documentation process briefing..

Yes my friend, you still fall within the age bracket of fbn because you just clocked 27 two months ago and fbn said you musnt be more than 27 as at june 2013..so technically u'll still be 27 until august next year by which time you would have successfully joined the bank(by God's grace)

I wanted to add that someone helped me to fill my GCE certificate back den, hence the mistake in my date of birth but I wrote the GCE when I was in ss2 in nov 2004 while I wrote my waec in 2005. I couldn't have been thinking of falsifying my age in ss2 and to think dat one would falsify their age by a month gap? It dosnt make any sense..so I don't know if I should go to fbn and explain on d day of documentation d one month disparity in my certificates or just see if I can rectify it before then.. @ xtanburg ,The date on my WAEC certificate is correct which is april 25..but the date on my GCE certificate says may 29 and I have been using my gce certificate because I didn't pass the major subjects in my waec but I made my GCE results at one sitting. Since it was a month diff in my date of birth and the waec oFficials den said nothn can be done about it, I went on to swear an affidavit using the date of birth on my GCE..through out my registration as an undergraduate becos I didn't think I'll need my waec..now I don't know what to do, if I try to rectify the gce before documentation, do u think dat'll help? Or should I just present my waec certificate altho the subjects on it are incomplete? Please I need an urgent reply before I lose my mind.

So here is a breakdown of how my day went.
I arrived at the venue 2hours before time(although that didn't count in d assessment,lol), the strategic Recruitment manager(mr muyiwa) came to address us and told us not to be nervous and we should be ourselves, an ex academy member who is now gainfully employed with fbn(her name is bimpe) also addressed us and she was kinda really cool.
Another guy(whose name didn't stick to my head) came to talk to us abt the documentation stage for the people who wud make it to that stage.
The first exercise was the critical analysis section with 20 questions and possible options. We were split into groups and depending on the group you fall in, ur next activity might be diff. As for my group, we did our slide preparation first,then moved on to group discussion, then slide presentation and then finally the interview which lasted for less dan 10minutes. Individual case study was on fodil commercial ltd, the problems and solutions were embedded in d case study, u just have to elaborate on it and maybe refine it abit. The group discussion was talkn abt a company who had corporate social responsibility to their host community. In short jdbabzy said it all in his earlier post..those having their assessment tomorrow, u might be nervous at first but with time you'll become relaxed. Success my people!

Scenario based exercise is where you are given 20 questions to answer, it is an analytical section where you will be given real life scenario and you will be given all the data you require to answer the 20 questions. And you dnt need to come with any certificates for your assessment. I was referring to when we eventually pass this stage, during the documentation stage they only accept original waec result, gce will just be used as backup irrespective of whether you failed waec. They just want to see the proof that you finished secondary sch becos anyone can as well register for gce wtout attending seconday sch, if u get what I mean

My dear, both banks are great banks, it depends on what you want,your objective, are you looking for a career or you just want the job that'll pay more? You need to think about it, if pay is the deciding factor then I'll advice you pick diamond. But if you want a bank dat'll support your dreams e.g sponsor you to write professional exams dat'll boost the qualifications you already have on ground, then I'll advice you pick FBN. That's my 2cents on this.
