Azazi,if he truly said this has bleeped up,if he still believes Buhari is involved in BH then he doesn't know his job. |
Sambo Dasuki was a Coup plotter that went on exile for so many years. He was supposed to earn a dishonour dismissal from the Army, but due to the influence of his father he was granted a presidential pardon. What on earth makes Jonathan thinks that he can do better, AZAZI was just a victim of his own truth. |

this is more on point from BRF,his argument made alot of sense if u look @ it from a neutral angle.Creation of more states for what? What is the assurance that by the next dispensation other groups will not clamor for states of their own?have the existing states made a significant progress in developing their populace?if any state must be created it must be in the SEor let the senate find a way of makes all zones having equal number of states or else very soon one Aboki will wake up to tell us they own Nigeria like they claim to own APGA. |
In place of Azazi, Retirked Col. Sambo Dasuki has been appointed the new NSA. Dasuki is son to the former Sultan of Sokoto who was removed by the late maximum ruler, Sani Abacha. In the 90s, Sambo had served as Chief Security Officer to the Sultan of Brunei, once the world's richest man. He is a Fulani and has held many important security portfolios including being ADC to former military President, Ibrahim Babangida. |

* Muslims protest against retaliatory killings by Christians * Religious rioting killed at least 52 in Kaduna on Sunday * Church bombings, likely by Islamist sect, sparked violence * Military clash with gunmen in northeast Damaturu (Adds details, background, Damaturu violence) By Isaac Abrak KADUNA, Nigeria, June 19 (Reuters) - Nigerian Muslims took to the streets in the northern city of Kaduna on Tuesday, firing AK-47s, burning tyres and destroying at least one church, two days after rioting by Christian youths killed 52 people, witnesses said. Multiple gunshots were heard across the city where at least 52 people were killed on Sunday in retaliatory violence after suspected Islamist suicide bombings of three churches in Kaduna state that killed 19 Christians. Religiously mixed Kaduna is near the volatile "Middle Belt", where the mostly Christian south and largely Muslim north meet and the city has sometimes been a sectarian flashpoint. "They are out on the streets, burning tyres and shooting. They burned a church," said a witness, who only gave his first name, Suleiman, for fear of reprisals. |
Things are falling apart. Not in Chinua Achebe’s classic, but in Kaduna, North West, Nigeria. In what seems to be a repeat of trends the government seems to be helpless. If this was the plan of the ‘dreaded militant group’ Boko Haram, then the aim has been achieved. Brothers are at war and like the president has asked we should all revert to God for safety! Kaduna is in turmoil as I write this. There are reported cases of violence in various areas of the state. Since Sunday bombing of 2 churches in Zaria and another in Trikania, Kaduna South, sleep has been murdered. People heading to Kaduna from Jos are turning back on getting to Zangokataf. Kawo, Panteka, Badarawa, U/Yero, Central Market, Rigasa, U/Kanawa and a couple of other places from phone interaction are in chaos. There are also reports that there are civilians donning uniforms of security personnel and laying wait for their ‘prey’. What started as a war against the government has become civil unrest between the people. As bad as it is, there are still stories of Muslims helping out Christians and vice versa. A number of people in harm’s way have had their escape this way. For now, the roads are empty in Kaduna. The streets have been purged of people. A number of locations are littered with burnt cars. Families have been thrown apart with instructions that ‘stay where you are… God willing we will meet when calm returns’. Religion is not on my list of top ten favourite subject to discuss. We are first humans before choosing what religion to differ to. In fairness, this is far beyond clerics as I understand some of them gave express instruction to their followers not to retaliate. It’s not surprising such instructions were disregarded. Emotions are high. People are paranoid. Lives are lost by the minute. If I know this country well, we will not have the exact figures of casualities. Until we get past using religion as a deciding factor in governance and yardstick for relating with people, we may as well forget peace. If you are in Kaduna and you are reading this. The following tips can keep you safe – 1. Stay at home and if you are not, stay where you are. 2. Make sure your phones are fully charged and reach out to your relatives for assurance. 3. Don’t believe everything you read on the social media or hear from people. 4. The best time to move is within the first 2 hours the curfew is lifted. Get what you need them and return back home. 5. Information about the curfew is only authentic when it’s from Reuben Buhari, the S.A on Information to the Governor. Supreme FM, 96.1 is the best station to listen to at this time. 6. If you reside in a relatively unsafe area, get people in the community to come together and form community vanguards to run day and night watch on shifts. 7. Be very sure normalcy has returned before leaving the house. 8. Pray to whatever God you believe in for safety. 9. In case of emergencies, you can contact any of these Operation Yaki’s numbers – 08160005000 08160003030 08160004040 08160002222 08160003333 10. Cal your friends of the other faith for reassurance and to ask after them. It helps after the crisis. The government owes it to the people to provide security to everyone and not to some select houses of government personnel and officials. As I heard a corps member recount his experience to me on the phone this morning, all I thought of was how ours has become an Hobbesian society. I hope it doesn’t stay that way for too long. http://www.kadunaboy.com/2012/06/kadunas-season-of-anomie-tips-for-survival/ |

Its true Kaduna was goin on fire before the security agents nicked it in the bud.A former muslim colleague of mine though he is Yoruba who stays in tudun wada called me and pleaded to stay @ home int the name of God.Muslims frm different areas of kaduna who are aggreived and still reeling from the Sunday Xtian attacks on their people must have planned their attacks well considering the fact that the curfew had been reduced to 6:00am-6:00pm (12hrs) albeit too early cos the way Kad is structured has it that u ve to go to the town Central to carry out most commercial and business activities and this central happens to be Muslims/Hausa Dominated areas.it's even closer to their base and the Xtian dominated areas are far away from the town.So it happened that in a part of town called Gate to be precise there is a mini market/garage around the zone and just when commercial activities were picking up there, the gates of the place was locked as planned the front and back gates were shutdown and a whistle was blown by the hausas that was when the mayhem began for the Xtians/Non hausas who were caught in between it was hell.As at that time Two people were dead and one of the survivor I saw said even a cripple begging for alms also had a stick/rod that he also used in attacking him.And another survivor who was injured and broke his hand said one of the people that attacked him was someone he knew well and does business with.As at now Most people who have a safe passage to their abode are back home and chilling. The town is still tensed up but I can tell you that the last has not been heard. |

A Nigerian spokesman for the Islamic militant group Boko Haram told Bikyamasr.com on Sunday that they are planning a “war” on Christians in the next few weeks. According to the spokesman, speaking via telephone from northern Nigeria, the group “will launch a number of attacks, coordinated and part of the plan to eradicate Christians from certain parts of the country.” Boko Haram have taken responsibility for a number of bomb attacks on Christian churches across the country since a Christmas Day bombing left dozens of people killed. The government has promised to crackdown on the group and has deployed military units across the country in an attempt to curtail the Islamic group’s activities, arresting and killing a number of members in recent weeks. But the spokesman said the government “cannot be prepared for what is to come.” He said, without giving specific details, “we will create so much effort to end the Christian presence in our push to have a proper Islamic state that the Christians won’t be able to stay.” On Friday, the group reportedly killed three of its own members late on Friday in the northeastern state of Maiduguri, police and military sources confirmed. “This was part of our planning and it is unfortunate,” said the spokesman. The explosion in the Kaleri suburb of the northern city on Friday destroyed a house and dismembered the three Islamist sect members, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Mohammed of the special military unit in Maiduguri said. Other items recovered at the scene included remote control devices, wrist watch timers, metallic drums and copies of the Qur’an, he said. The sect converts homes into bomb-making factories for attacks, the spokesman said. As well as in Maiduguri, there have been accidental and fatal explosions in suspected Boko Haram bomb-making factories in the northern cities of Damaturu and Kaduna in recent months. Violence blamed on the militant group, whose goals remain largely unclear, but has called for an Islamic state in Nigeria, has since mid-2009 claimed more than 1,000 lives, including more than 300 this year alone, according to rights groups. http://leadership.ng/nga/articles/18121/2012/03/04/were_planning_war_christians_-_boko_haram_spokesman.html |
