Ola9ja23:Everything he typed is actually true. How is Asiwaju soaring higher helping the country? Not everyone that speaks against the shit our so called leaders do that both you and I know is an opposition. Even Asiwaju ardent supporters have spoken against many of his unfavorable policies since he assumed power. |
Why has none of these lawmakers come out to tell us the amount the salary is and the amount the allowances are? It appears they all became the same ones elected into those positions irrespective of party affiliation. A civil servant’s salary and allowance and easily be known based on their grade levels. |
Which steel are they getting from Ajaokuta steel company? Is the mill functioning yet? |
Any political appointee are always quick to attach Honorable to their names. |
Iju was not Lagos state as then. It was part of old western Region. Lagos state consisted of Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Victoria Island some parts of Yaba, Ebutte Meta. |
Says a man that gave his wife thousands of US dollars as gift some time ago. |
They’re not owned by the federal government. It’s an organization. What does the poster mean by they don’t have money to transport themselves back to Nigeria? |
“Don’t believe a rumor until it is officially denied. “ If we ask these guys and their supporters what benefits come with these travels, they’ll say FDI, investors etc. Why not use these money wasted on travels to buy tractors and other mechanized farming equipment to assist farmers. What investments do they want to attract from Qatar that has the same oil we have as their main source of revenue? Do they want them to come build refineries here or what? |
Why must we travel up and down just to attract investors? What’s wrong in using those millions of dollars used to travel about to support home grown businesses and factories. We keep doing one thing same way and expect different result. Same cycle, same outcomes. |
What you ought to have done before going ahead to threaten them with sanctions and war. |
Ecosystem about to get some changes in that area. |
Why is the custom’s charging import duty in USD? If it is charged in Naira there wouldn’t be a need to adjust and readjust exchange rates. Peg import duties in Naira and let importers seek Naira to pay. Not changing exchange rate all the time. Other countries I know of charge import duties in their local currencies and not pegging exchange rate at USD. |
They’re never scared when taking loans cos it’s taken in the name of the state. If they were to run a business would they take loans anyhow? |
The same government you work for unbanned crypto just few months ago. |
AK481:Means you’ve never been to Tejuoso. It’s filled up. And it contains majority of Igbos. The clothing and textiles market is bigger than what it was at Tejuoso. Do well to research and have facts before commenting. |
Are local govt chairmen employed by the state governors? The way governors boss them around is concerning. Until INEC takes control of LGA elections, these governors will see the LG chairmen as their appointees. |
The real builder of Lagos was late Pa Lateef Jakande. Any other builder built his pockets, friends and family pockets. |
Ofunaofu:I’m sure every tribe knows we have to break apart. Hypocrisy and the oil that was found in the south south was what entered their eyes. Now that the oil is no longer as good as it was and they claim to have found some in their regions, they want to break apart. Coupled with the fact that they’ve succeeded in destabilizing the entire country. What a shame. |
NaijaSumigan:They are lazy and foolish as you’ve said. Why would people keep looting and stealing money meant for millions of people that entrust you to make good decisions for them. An average black man is greedy. Greed is the main reason Africa as a continent isn’t progressing when compared to others. |
How’s that a loss when you waived it? |
Why can’t the government put stringent laws in place that’ll punish these erring civil servants? You know why? The governor, President that’s supposed to effect such laws is also culpable. Our leaders are bigger thieves. |
The person that sells yam that is home grown needs to buy shoes that may be imported or the materials used in making the shoes are imported. When he gets to the market to buy a new shoe he realizes the price is higher than what it was last time. The only way he can afford to buy the shoe or other things that he needs that are imported is by adding some amount to the yams he sells to break even. It’s called ripple effect. |

nairalanda1:Payment of subsidies isn’t a bad thing. The main problem the government has with subsidy payments is the corruption in the process. They should tackle the corruption in the subsidy scheme and know what amount of petrol they’re paying subsidy on. Punishing millions of Nigerians for a few people that the government knows are the culprits is insanity. It shows that both the present and past administrations do not have the balls to look the culprits in the face and deal with them. |
Nigeria’s treasury has never been empty. You people will see failure and make excuses for it because he’s your tribesman. |
I don’t know what version of Quran or Hadith these guys read. Even Saudi doesn’t preach all these infidels stuff. Instead of preaching love and tolerance which is the bane of Islam, these guys keep preaching “we vs them” even for people that just go about their businesses. |
DeLaRue:Don’t make excuses for a man that said he knows Nigeria’s problem and can solve them all. He has said these time over. For someone that has never been in Federal position since he left governor office to say such is actually very myopic. If Atiku or Osibanjo say they know Nigeria’s problems I’ll believe them more because they’ve seen how things run first hand. Tinubu must fulfill his promises of fixing Nigeria and his people need to stop making excuses for him. I still remember a lot of things he said during campaigns. He asked Nigerians not to pity him or give him a second chance should he fail. |
The blames are now on governors. This misinformation of increased revenue is silly. Increased revenue with hyperinflation translates to nothing. State governors don’t control the economy. |
As long as we continue to follow everything IMF, world bank and so called renowned economists keep telling us to do without having to think of these will actually work for us , we’ll continue rubbing in circles. All the economic experts that advocated for subsidy removal and floating of the Naira have all lost their voices now. |
All bank tellers don’t use phones until either they’re on break or closed. |
ecolime:Learn what from China? Did Chinese tell you they are interested in only foreign investors? Check out most investments done in China and you’ll find out about 3% is FDI the rest are local. Government must encourage local investments. That’s the best way to go. FDI will come and take all their profits with them. |
