You have hit the nail on the head. If you have plans of marketing a book, then you shouldn't post it on nairaland or anywhere else for that matter. Otherwise, this is a great place to share your stories.
Abi... *winks*

Hmmm... me I didn't canvass for votes.

I was hoping my story will speak for itself.

Every writer that posted is hoping to win.

May God give you wisdom to choose a worthy winner

I faced plagiarism when I started posting stories on nairaland.

I had to decide what stories I will post for free and still sell on okadabooks

And stories I will publish on amazon which I can't post here

And stories I will post half-way and whoever wants the conclusion can get it on okadabooks.

Just decide what you want and you won't feel that hurt.

Good luck.

Poems For ReviewRe: WIN 10,000 Cash Prize Right Now For Writing a poem here on NLND by SheWrites(f):
VOICELESS SCREAMS

Curled into a ball
Breathing in the still air
Same position from dusk to dawn
Unwilling to move
No motivation to get up
Stinging red eyes, blurred vision
Stuffy nostrils, achy bones
Fangs of ice gnawed at every cell
Piercing pain enveloped my bleeding heart
Numbing my frail body

His dark ocean deep eyes flashed through my mind
His lingering smile stayed glued to my brain
Refusing to fade into oblivion
The warmth of his muscular arms
The intense fiery caresses
The honey coated kisses
The passionate pleasure that resonates when
he camps deep within the core of my wetness
The struggle to get it all out of my head, my mind

Thinking I'm going loco
Thinking I'm cursed
Kept falling for the wrong ones
Kept relieving the same nightmare
Princes keep turning to villians
Knights in shining armour failed to rescue the damsel in distress
My fairy tale 'Happily Ever After' keeps turning to a nostalgic flood of 'Sadly Ever After'

He promised me forever
He promised me the world
Here and now alone
Left with no hope
Giving into the darkness that clamour for my soul
If death comes now
I might welcome it with open arms

THE PROPOSAL

The doorbell rang and his heart beat accelerated. He took a deep breath and tried to still his emotions. He headed towards the door and brought out the tiny red square shaped box out of his jeans pocket.

He could still remember the first time he saw her. It was at a friend's birthday party. The tall, brown skiñ, hour-glass shaped, cat eyes lady got his attention that night. When they got introduced, the chemistry between them was right out of a Hollywood movie script.

After five years of a romantic relationship, he was ready to tie the knot. He was ready to spend the rest of his life with the love of his life. He was sure that she was going to say 'yes'. She was crazy about him.

He opened the door and went on one knee, "Will you marry me?"

She gasped when she saw the red box in his hand. Her brown eyes smarted with tears as she turned to look at him.

"Who is she?" she waved her phone in his face.

The picture of the naked girl in his arms stared back at him. He grimaced. How did she find out?

IYA GATE EPISODE 1
iya gate
peeping from the windows of one of the flats of the story building i lived in.
She was shouting at her tenants not to pour water on her husband's car which has not been driven in centuries, though it was always covered i never stopped imagining the use of that 'kpangolo'(empty container)

she adores her uncompleted building, and will always sit at the gate to watch maybe the street or her ugly castle.

She seem to know everything in everyones home, even the day mama ngozi, my neighbour flogged her husband and sent him out,she was the first to tell the man pele (sorry) the next morning

On her little table by the old red gate are sweets, biscuits and things needed within a street, she sees it as business but to me its her gossip hub

she lives more by that table than in her house,as she alternates watching her house with the streets, she knows a stranger along the street and wont hold back questions if she has any

well, tomorrow they will be plastering her house and flooring the compound after decades of building and her tenants have had sleepless nights of hearing how much cement cost and the new order of washing in their bedrooms...

Episode 2

Here are my dearest authors here,I hope they find time to read my story

TiffanyJ Kimkardashain bibijay123 Chumzypinky petermuller Chipappii stephenGee12 EvaJael ghostwritter marianneada SheWrites Lleigh Clemzy16

Present.

My parents come from Lere local government in Kaduna state of Nigeria. They are both from the Jarumi Family, known for blacksmith and animal skin trade. My parents are second cousins. Their grandparents were brothers and they used to be very close and they promised to join their children in marriage but unfortunately they gave birth to male children. Their fathers were the first born and when they were given birth to, it was decided that they should get married when they grow up.
My father and mother used to be close when they were kids. They were always seen together. My father will buy locally made sweets for my mother whenever he comes back from school. Everyone was happy except my father’s mother who hates my mother because her parents were not rich. According to her, my mother’s father agreed to the marriage because he is going to benefit from it.
The bond between my father and mother began to unbind slowly as they grow up until it reached a moment where they only greet each other. My father changed from being happy to being moody. He hardly smiles especially if my mother was around and always keeps to himself.
My mother was in senior secondary two when their marriage issue was brought up. Kaka, my father’s mother came out plainly and u everyone my father will not marry my mother whose parents were poor. The family didn’t take it lightly with her as she was heavily criticized. That made her hates my mother more. The wedding date was finally fixed when my father came back from his youth service. My mother was asked to stop school.
My mother was grinding tomatoes one evening when a boy entered their house that someone wants to see her. My grandmother, Kaka Jidda told the boy to go back and ask the person his name. The boy came back and told her it was my father.
“Tell him I will be out in a moment.” My mother said to the boy.
“Why won’t Musa enter the house?” Kaka Jidda, my asked.
“Inna like you don’t know Yaya Musa. When last did he enter this house? He has totally changed not like the Yaya Musa I use to know.” My mother said.
“Hmm!” Kaka Jidda sighed.
My mother took the veil hanging on the door and covered her head with it. My father was leaning on the wall when she came out.
“Good evening Yaya Musa.” My mother greeted.
“Good evening Lauratu. I am not here to waste my time or yours. I came here to talk to you about something.”
“I am listening.”
“Do you want this marriage?” My father asked.
“Yes. Why won’t I? Our family wants us to get married also. That will strengthen the bond of the family.” My mother said.
“I don’t want the marriage because I have someone that I love and I promised her that I will marry her.”
“What do you want me to do then?”
“Tell them you don’t want to marry me.”
“I can’t do that! I can’t go against my family.”
“Then prepare for the worst. You will regret marrying me.” My father threatened.
“It is my obligation to accept who ever my parents choose for me to get married to. They won’t choose someone bad for me.”
“Lauratu, I see you as my sister.”
“You should learn to start seeing me as your wife to be then.”
“You don’t know what you are getting yourself into.” My father said and walked away angrily. My mother shook her head and entered inside.
