"Is he okay?" Greg stared at eight year old Christopher in Ifeoma's arms.

"I think so," Ifeoma met his worried gaze.

"Greg let's get out of here," Bisi held unto the chain around her neck and rubbed the pendant. Thoughts of the visions she had, had replayed on her mind. Was the pregnant woman her mother? Was the man standing by her side her father? What were they doing in that eerie cave? The yellow eyed monster was there too.

She scratched an itchy spot on her chin. The pendant held powers. She knew that now. Maybe, just maybe, it my be there only source of defence from the monstrous creatures.

She looked out the window and saw more than a dozen of the monstrous creatures, including the dead who have turned into zombies marching in unison towards them.

"Greg..." came the fearful whisper.

"I heard you. Let's get out of here," he glanced back at her and saw the fear in her eyes. He followed the direction of her gaze and saw a group of yellow eyed eerie creatures alongside zombies heading their way.

The armed men and women, escapees from different houses on the street saw the too. Screams and shrieks rent the air.

"Greg... drive!" Ifeoma punched the driver's seat.

"Bisi ... Bisi ... Bisi ... You belong to us," they began to chant, marching as one.

Bisi's throat went dry. She broke out in cold sweat and began to shiver. Her frail mind couldn't process her connection with the eerie creatures.

Greg and Ifeoma stared at Bisi wide eyed.

"We need to get to the cave," her pleading gaze remained on her boyfriend's puzzled face.

"What cave?" He looked her up and down, as if seeing her for the first time.

"Are you the reason why we have been invaded?" Ifeoma glared at her.

"We need to leave now."

The urgency in her voice kick started his adrenaline. He woke up the engine of the vehicle and started to reverse.

"They are running! " Ifeoma saw the creatures running towards them.

"Greg!!!" Bisi screamed as she watched the armed men and women charging towards the monstrous.

Blood, body parts, internal organs started flying left right and center.

Greg did a u-turn with the car, something he learnt from the James Bond movies. In screeching speed he flew down the street, heading towards the express road.

Ifeoma looked left, then right, tears pooled all over her fair oval face. She wrapped her shivering hands around her body and willed herself to move. She had just witnessed the horrifying execution of her parents. While they had dinner that night, a monstrous eerie creaure showed up in their living room and turned the whole place upside down. Her mother was the first to go. Torn into shreds by the monster. Her father was cut in half while trying to get her out of the house.

She escaped but found herself on their street, strangely different. Every house was in flames and people were running shelter skelter. She saw several armed men, including women.Everyone had something to defend themselves.

The side of her eye caught a moving vehicle, a Toyota Highlander. Seated on the driver's seat was Greg, her childhood crush. His girlfriend Bisi was beside him. They both looked like they had just seen ghost.

She waved hysterically, hoping to get their attention. Greg saw her first.then Bisi glared at her. The car screeched to a halt. She jumped in and slammed the door.

"What's going on?"

Greg and Bisi exchanged glances.

"Something killed my parents. "

They both turned to look back at her. It dawned on them that they have been invaded by Monsters.

THE VISITOR

The children, ranging from three to ten years screamed and clapped their hands as the game of 'ten-ten' progressed.

They were split into two groups of four girls each. The game was intense and it required a lot of skill and expertise.

Rhoda stood close by, watching her elder sister clap her hands and make rhythmic leg movements. Of course she was a pro.

Other children hung around, waiting for the emergence of the winning group. The losers were going to be replaced with a set of new girls.

Rhoda raised her small head and saw a tall figure standing at the entrance of the one-storey building. He was looking her way and smiling. He didn't live in the house. He was a visitor. He was Mama Sam's guest.

He was a regular visitor. He comes and goes, every three to four days. He beckoned at her. She raised an eyebrow. Did he want to send her on an errand? She glanced at her elder sister and back at the man. He beckoned at her again and went in.

Maybe she could quickly run the errand and return to join the game. It was almost her turn.

She followed him. He went into Mama Sam's room and locked the door once she was in. He settled on the sofa and drew her to his side.

"I will buy you fanta and cabin biscuit," he brushed a hand over her face and slid his hand under her dress.

Her small eyes brightened in excitement. When was the last time she had such treat? She felt his fingers in her pant. Why was he touching her there?

"Do you like it?"

She stared back at him. Like what? What was he talking about?

"Come..." he lifted her up and carried her towards the bed.

Crushed under his weight, she felt his manliness trying to navigate its way into her tiny unripe bum-bum.

"Open the door!"

She recognized her mother's voice. Several fists attacked the door.

The man jumped down and raced to the door to open it.

Her mother, Mama Sam and others rushed in.

Rhoda's mother dashed to the bed. She checked her daughter. No blood. No semen. She heaved a sigh of relief.

"What were you doing with her?" Mama Sam confronted him. Pain glistened in her eyes.

"What were you doing with my daughter? " Rhoda's mum attacked him and everyone pounced on him.
