First off, hiding behind keys to dish out 50 shades of your nicknames shows how intelligence malnourished you are.

Secondly, I didn't bring in the whole Google pixel lineups when I mentioned the screen burn issue. Try dey read.

Finally, maybe you should lay hands on Samsung flagships and see what a premium when should look like. Even midrange Xiaomi phones have amazing displays that are rid of tan lines.

Edit: I took a quick look at your profile and here's what I have to say: I pray that you find the Pixel 2XL or any of the 3 series you're looking for. Maybe na then your eye go clear.
for your information I have been using my pixel 3 for over a year+ now,. I love it, it has a great display, before that I was using the Samsung Galaxy S9 which has even better display, I used the Redmi note 10 before that so I know wtf I'm talking about. Samsung displays has more screen burn complains than pixels so I don't know wtf you're talking about

Screen burn is general for all oled or AMOLED displays. They are better than IPS LCD but LCD last longer, it's not like LCD don't have problems of it own.

That been said screen burn is a bit exaggerated on this type of displays, this technology has been greatly improved on since 2017. I remember how my blackberry z10 was back then.

I have used many LCD and Amoled displays. HTC, Sony, and LG makes the best LCD's but still I will choose Oled, P-Oled or Amoled over them, they simply are just better.

So don't be coming here and be bragging about shit. People usually do that when they don't have facts or don't understand what they are talking about to.

A little research would have saved you from this uninformed comment you just made.

That OLED is better than LCD is a well established fact, but read about the infamous Google pixel screen burn issue.

How's a screen that leaves a digital tan mark better than one that doesn't?
guy stfu all oled displays will eventually have screen burns, it has nothing to do with Google pixel.
PhonesRe: Pixel 4 Vs Iphone Xr by shezy14(m): 4:03am On Feb 26, 2023

Just like with Pixel 1, 2 and 3 series, pixel 4 series suffer the infamous Google pixel screen burn issue, so if we're talking screen quality, XR may have an LCD screen, but it's better.

Google probably needs to patronise Samsung or LG ewe their OLED screen game on. I'm not sure if they got things better from Pixel 5 and upwards, though.
what screen burn? You don't even know how to lie. Pixel 4 screen is far better than that of the XR

A FOOOOL has Spoken.
You're the fool here. Spectranet, Tizetti wifi and the rest don't make half of what Local networks makes yearly, what makes you think Starlink will? Get sense, there is enough meat for all of them in the pot grin

Mobile Network providers will still make the big bucks. They are a necessity, you can't do without them.

While I agree that a lot of people can’t afford starlink but you see that 1% you mentioned, they are the heavy subscribers.

I’m talking about people spending as much as 500k monthly on data, you need to understand that it’s not the 1,500 subscribers that net telecoms money.

Companies spend up to 10s of millions a year on internet services and they are losing them to starlink.
Not quite Yet.

The fear of starlink
What fear? Some of you just talk rubbish, Starlink definitely can't compete with MTN, Airtel or Glo.

Also Starlink is not mobile, which means even if you have it, you'll still have to use a local network for data when not at home or in the office.

Less than 1% of Nigerians are using starlink why da Bleep would MTN be afraid?

PhonesRe: Why Do Android Phones Last For Only 2-2.5 Years On Average? by shezy14(m): 9:38pm On Feb 19, 2023
dominzy:
Android devices have a much smaller life than their competitors like Windows and Apple devices. Reason can be broadly classified in two divisions.

Lack of app support
An average android phone today can last for more than 4 to 5 years on its own merit, if anyone is willing to keep it alive. I bought a Micromax phone with Android Gingerbread (2.3.5) back in the early days in the year 2013. It stopped working recently because of battery issues. Simple math tells that the phone lasted for more than 4 years.

However, with each android API update, new libraries are added, and some older ones get deprecated. Developers must keep their apps on Google Play Store updated with these latest changes. To ensure same functionality and features of the app on all devices, eventually older devices have to be abandoned.

Example: WhatsApp abandoning android 2.2 and below devices

Thus the phones not only lack features from latest Android, but also third party app support.

No standard hardware
Ever wondered why it is so easy to upgrade Windows PC? It happens automatically, directly from Microsoft. At most, you need to download the .iso file, burn it to a thumb drive and you are good to update your system.

Why doesn't this happen to Android? This is because most PCs have hardware standardization (IBM). An OS knows where to expect what hardware. In contrast, Google has not specifically set any hardware standards. There are a couple of tests like Compatibility Test Suite which an OEM must pass their device through, but it isn't similar to IBM standard.

CTS checks
Compatibility Test Suite, as mentioned above and Compatibility Definition Document decides to which device, an OEM can officially pust an android update. Check the latest CDD here:

Android 7.1 Compatibility Definition | Android Open Source Project

Sometimes, CTS prevents OEMs to push updates to perfectly capable devices. Sony Xperia Z3 was one of the non-nexus phones to get Android Nougat developer previews. However Google change’its CDD in last moment making its Snapdragon 801 incompatible

Sony claims it's not at fault for not releasing Android 7.0 Nougat for Xperia Z3

Lack lustre attitude of OEMs
Most manufacturers have their devices bloated and heavily skinned with features. Pushing an update requires building everything, every piece of those specific “features” from scratch. It is time consuming and needs lot of work. That is the reason many manufacturers completely avoid updates.

Google is trying to solve the issue by using new Vendor Test Suite, which will make OEMs keep their code seperate from core Android code, allowing faster OS updates.

As Google releases new Android versions every year, by two years, you are already lagging behind by 2 Android versions. Imagine yourself using Windows 7 now, when everyone is using Windows 10.

Hardware ageing
As mentioned previously, current android phones have hardware to keep up for about 5 years. However, phone manufacturers have the only income by sales from their devices. As a result they need to keep releasing newer devices periodically, with better hardware than the previous generation of devices. This makes owners of older devices feel that their's have become excessively aged. So people buy new phones and older ones quickly reach End Of Life, both in software and hardware.

These are some of the reasons why android devices age so quickly.
This is nonsense

I ve lost 3 phones to bootloader issue one Redmi and iphone 8plus. Stop playing bro
Do you know what bootloader is? And his Redmi is stuck in fastboot. He should try a fastboot firmware first. If that doesn't work then try using an EDL Firmware. Both available for Xiaomi devices
PhonesRe: Samsung S7 Edge by shezy14(m):
nurey:
Latest apps like what exactly?

Its camera is still okay, good speakers, battery replacement Is a breeze, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other sundry apps still work and its os is 8.0 Oreo paired with 4gig ram.

The S7 edge in 2023 is a good midrange budget phone.
yeah, and those apps has evolved, They require more ram and CPU usage compared to then. There are other old flagship devices that are better and cheaper than the S7 or the S7 edge. Pixel 3 goes for about 60k and is better than the S7 in every way, LG G7 also, Samsung S8 is also okay

The way some of you make claims without repercussion is alarming. Samsung no be chinko phone, my wife still using hers 3 years now
why would you want to use a snapdragon 820/or its exynos equivalent in 2023? Once you start installing all this latest app, the device will slow down.

If its old flagship, then Snapdragon 845 and above is what I recommend
