emee701:
Dude you are jon snow. Ibadan gave your atiba land. When kurunmi wants to destroy oyo, it was Ibadan that destroyed kurunmi of ijaye and that's why today ibadan is ijaye and ijaye is Ibadan
A learned person would have asked:
Why did Ibadan attack Kurunmi for Oyo?
What's so special about Oyo to warrant a war where lots of people will definitely die?
You don't just go to war for the sake of it.
Use your brain bro.

The “Alaafin-centric LGs should have produced Oyo Governor if it’s as good as you said it now.
Oyos always vote Ibadan. They are not competing. Ladoja got some of his strongest support from Oyo-centric strongholds. Same with Ajimobi and even incumbent Seyi. Oyos did Ibadans no wrong, ever. That mindset only support the historical basis of the bond which some unscrupulous ones are now burning to the ground. This is culture and tradition, not politics.
PoliticsRe: Makinde Announces Ladoja As Chairman Oyo Council Of Obas, Alaafin Absent | by Shikena(m): 3:27am On Jan 16
Oyo's might was already established long before Ibadan emerged so we can also say the entire South West may have been colonized by Fulanis if not for the powerful Alaafins of old. Many of them died protecting the region and Alaafin's stopped going to wars directly in the 1830s and Iba Oluyole became Bashorun.

Goodvibes007:
They are controlling their own domain.

Governor Makinde and the Oyo state house of asembly started the rotation for justice, fairness, and equity.

Truth be told, if not for Ibadan, Fulani would have colonized the whole of Yorubaland. They deserve their flowers.

If not for Ibadan, alot of us would have been bearing names like AbdulRaman, Abdullahi, Abdulmalik e.t.c just like in Ilorin. The Ibadans were the ones that stopped the conquest of the Fulani jihadist at Oshogbo on the their way to dip their sword in the Atlantic ocean as per the desire of Uthman Dan Fodio.

Oh I’m engaging a pikin, sorry.

Tinubu is not so daft to leave an old time friend, Ladoja whose coronation he attended and of very high electoral value (11 LG) for a novice, Owoade with far less electoral value (~4LG) whose only relationship was giving Seyi Tinubu a chieftancy title so he could have a crumb from him.
Since the coronation, have you seen Seyi associating with the title in the public unlike the Stepmother, Yeye Asiwaju Oodua?
If Alaafin is that important, Tinubu would attend his coronation.

Heroes rise, heroes fall. Same as kingdoms and empires.
Yes, Oyo has 4 LGs on paper but 4 out of 5 LGs in Ogbomoso axis are firmly Alaafin-centric. Most LGs in Oke-Ogun are firmly Alaafin-centric. It's not as simple as you think.

Even inside Ibadan, a significant percentage are Alaafin-centric. The current Alaafin has family house in Ibadan, coming from Lawani Agogo-Ija line.

If Alaafin is aligned with Tinubu, please who is Ladoja aligned with? You think Tinubu will dish Ladoja for Owoade?
Which battle did Alaafin thrive on? The one that sacked his kingdom?
See questions o grin
A more intelligent question would be who Seyi Makinde is aligned with, and the political moves around Okanlomo title. Stay on read-only mode and keep learning. On what Alaafin thrive on, sacked kingdom is common with those who managed to build huge kingdoms. It's not for peasants. The history can never be erased and you could see the implication with children of Baales rewriting history today to attach relevance to their humble history. Empire no be your mate grin

Oluwo must have given the Alaafin a very wrong orientation or something to sniff.

I believe this script was written long before now and and being played.
Makinde stylishly left out Gbadegesin who is well connected and understands the politics so well from being the Alaafin. He brought in Owoade who is a novice and doesn’t have the resources to compete with the “big kings”. Owoade has been made a prawn.
Makinde already miscalculated.

Alaafin is fully aligned with Jagaban. This is just round 1 of a battle and Alaafins thrive on such battles historically. Is Makinde equipped to survive in one piece? Hope he consulted elders in his family house cool

seunmsg:
My brother, there is a big difference between the position of the Ooni and Alaafin. Ile Ife is the source of all humanity. It is our orirun. Whether you’re Alaafin, Oba of Benin, Olu of Warri, Oba of Lagos, Olubadan, Alake etc, we all trace our ancestry and royalty back to Ile Ife.

So, the leadership position of the Ooni is inherent. All Yoruboid groups don’t argue about that. We cannot joke with our source because doing that will amount to denigrating our history.

Alaafin on the other hand has not such inherent leadership position. He became powerful strictly as a result of military conquest. Sadly, he no longer possesses that military power. So, nobody owes him any loyalty again. All the vassal states under the old empire are now independent towns under the sovereignty of Nigeria.
Stop telling each other lies. Alaafin was powerful from Day 1 because Alaafin was Oranmiyan, the most powerful! His descendants still rule Oyo till today.

He was powerful even before building an empire and no Yoruba raises his hand in his presence.

I was just reading a story on the graceful presence of Alaafin Siyanbola Ladigbolu at the opening of Mapo Hall Ibadan in the 1930s, with pictures. It was crystal clear who ruled an empire.

No, i won't tip besides i'm not her employer so why should i do such a thing .

tipping is nothing but an extortion mechanism dressed as gratitude.
I tip but it depends on your attitude to work while serving my table.

Fun fact: I consciously tip more in Nigeria than in the US. I feel happier nowadays as I stopped giving out to entitled people. Any youth working diligently for any organization and with great attitude brings joy to my heart. I encourage people around me to give to those who are working instead of those doing Twale everywhere.

Thank you. That's exactly why I asked for the location.

I live in the UK with my two children. One is under 16 and the other is above. I applied for thier passport renewals online and within a month I got a response - Both now have thier respective passports(5 and 10 years).

The older one was enrolled without a visit to the Nigeria House via the NIS contactless app. My younger child had to visit the Nigeria House for biometric capturing because he's yet to be 16.That's my personal experience. I didn't go through anyone. I just trusted the process and it worked for me.

Where are you based? The current interior minister has made some improvement in the overall process and I believe other changes are coming.
Why can't you get e-visa on your baby's passport? The process is pretty straightforward.

obataokenwa:
My baby cant have passport and thats why we couldn't travel back home. Everything about Nigeria just hard. Getting passport while abroad is the most difficult thing right now. The minister of interior shouod resign for incompetence
TravelRe: Challenges Nigerians Face When Getting Official Documents While Living Abroad by Shikena(m): 3:57pm On Jan 10
I guess the thread is for those who are already abroad and in need of help with their documents.

ovie8200:
If you are leaving Nigeria for another country, it is best to get all the necessary documents before you travel. Otherwise, it may be difficult to obtain documents like school transcripts unless you have someone you trust back home who is willing to help you.

The best advice is to make sure all your documents are in order—such as your school transcripts, birth certificate, and other important records—before leaving.

Your choice of faith is personal. Fanatics take note! It is personal and will always be personal, if you force people to accept your religion that is not real and can never be real. Get that into your thick skulls and leave the woman alone.

The criticism of Osimhen is justified but it's over. Osimhen and Lookman already moved on from the issue as footballers but lowlifes won't let it go. Let our boys focus on their mission in Morocco.
