so people frustration wanted to kill me since yesterday.

went to carters yesterday and after selecting and selecting got to the counter to pay na dey said 756$

no wahala na. swiped my fcmb card it was declined, did it twice still declined

had to beg them to keep d stuff till today. got there today still couldnt use the card. sent a mail to customer service and dey said its cus of d 300$ limit on pos by cbn.

I was like I used my fidelity card jus last month to pay my bills wit jus a swipe na.

dey sha increased it for me to 500$ and I still couldnt use the card.

I had to make a call to transfer sm money from my fcmb to fidelity and I made the payment with one swipe.

moral of the story: ensure you travel with a bank card that is trusted and any issues they can resolve it sharply.

plus put the 100$ atm and 300$ pos daily limit
into ur spending plans

I deport from white man land on Friday and boy I cant wait to go and eat nkwobi and ishewu

I got PTA today from Ecobank... $4000 at the rate of N199.50 and was charged /debited my acct with N16,000 as cash handling fee.

Didn't complain much coz it is still better than black mkt.
dat 16000 is too much jor

wat kind of handling fee is dat? comm n vat wud not be so high

buh den again like u said still beta dan black market.

This is painful oooo... 23what? Do u have a STANBIC account?

If only CBN has a way of knowing what these banks charge us on our cards... So annoying ....
I hv a stanbic account buh hvnt used it for a while.

d oda day my dad called from naija n was saying smtn bout d cbn gov saying dollar is 197 officially n am like y won't he mk it official for all banks to adhere to. its not like d banks get d dollar from black market.

Another annoying tin esp wit fidelity is dat wen u check ur bal d conversion rate is 199.5 o, u will be feeling like person day has plenty money till u use ur card n calc d rate only to get 239.

big hiss.

Tiwalope:
I'm not aware of such policies by CBN,some branches would just probably take precautions to PTA issuance dues to the current volatility in the exchange rate.Interbank rate as at today was about N199.. to a $1,but the advice for us all is to buy PTA immediately tickets have been booked,no one can predict CBN new directive.

bankers in the house enlighten us about this CBN directive.
also if u see black market dat is cheaper dan 230 please buy so u have enuf cash on u because it will still be cheaper dan swiping ur card.

I used fidelity card on moday, d conversion rate was about 239.

jus used my fcmb and it was bout 235. dats like buying from black market abeg.

I used this hospital. I picked my doctor and paid $1,500. One thing to note is that they charge $2,300 per day. So if you are going to spend more than a day the cost may go higher than the $4,500 quoted by your friend.

Then hopefully you child wouldn't need the NICU cos my baby spent 5 days in the NICU and the bill I got is enough to sponsor the child from creche to post graduate. In fact the bill still gives me high blood pressure.

Something else to consider is that Ohio doesn't have a passport agency where you can get the US passport fast like other states. They just have passport acceptance facilities where expedited takes between 2-3 weeks. So if you are pressed for time you may have to travel to another state to get the passport out on time.

There are several University Hospitals. I used the one at Parma.

The doctor was great but I am not really a fan of the hospital though.
abeg o any hospital dat dosnt hv
straight forward billing is not advisable. you cant predict wat will happen and hw many days u might hv to stay so pls people confirm well before heading to ohio.

for all of u dat have gathered ur 3800 abeg no vex its 4500 o. sorry for wrong info.

jus spoke to my friend she said doct 1500 hosp 3000

hosp name is university hospital ohio and d hosp gives d doct.

d bad tin is she went tru an agent who organised evrytin so I would suggest we Google the hospital on line cus if u go tru d agent be sure to arrange agency fee.

1. maryland is an expensive city abeg if u can avoid it o.

2. and if u must use maryland abeg avoid prince George cus dose people i didn't understand their charges. dey r not straight forward like elpaso n Houston n d likes.

3. if u can pls plan for in case cs. I had a virginal delivery for my first buh dis one ended up being cs.

now the story.

I was told before I came to maryland that doctors fee 2350 hosp 4000

wen I got here paid d doctor his 2350 buh hosp u must pay only after delivery at d hospital.

went into labour 2am on sat 11th july and after labouring for almost 8hrs we had to go for cs cus d baby's position was bridged

gave birth to my 2nd princess at 11.49am

the nurses were wonderful. got a lot of Similac milk, pampers, wipes n a breast pump.

they said hearing test is compulsory under maryland law so had to do it.

just got the bill last Friday na so I see 11, 479.39. mine was 9k smtn n d baby 1800.

see wahala. Anywayz to God be the glory went there today n settled them wit my fidelity card.

nxt journey heading to OHIO(a friend gv birth dere last month and she said she paid 3800 for doct n hosp plus 1200 for a 2 bedroom apartment for a mnth, which state can beat that?). in maryland I had free accommodation, free ride n all cus I stayed wit my brother buh I cant shout. won't give birth here again o.

wish all dose yet to give birth safe delivery.

parking my kaya n getting ready to depart.

Hello House, my wife is bound to travel next month. But there is a problem... Her initial destination was supposed to be Houston but now she feels staying in Maryland would be better as she has a friend that would host her. All her documents bear Houston... And I intend to route her flight through JFK, NY to Houston but at JFK after POE interviews, she could change course to Maryland, maybe by plane (domestic) or by train... I'm just wondering if there is any risk to this!!! Please, your candid opinions will be highly appreciated...
I hope she finds a doctor wit a straight forward breakdown cus so far dis maryland waka wants to turn to smtn else o.
