berem: Am dumbfounded!! Am thinking it's 1.2billion dollars. maybe they forgot to put the decimal. In their haste to tarnish GEJ they quoted this ridiculous amount, but how come they didn't check the integrity of the man they got the story from. A cursory check on Mr. Ugwuonye’s integrity would have revealed he's a fraud? How stupidd can the APC get? |

amakenny: But it must become the eight wonder of the world if any notable Yoruba fellow stands up today to reject SNC. SINCE MY EARLY CHILDHOOD, FROM NADECO TO AFENIFERE TO OPC, CALLS FOR SNC HAVE BEEN DEAFINING FROM THOSE YORUBA GROUPS. Very good observation and I remember they only said this when the South was united. With Tinubu's leadership its impossible to join forces with Tinubu and bigoted Fashola. Their tribalism against the SS/SE is so blatant that their only remedy is to join their fellow Muslims in the north. |

Concentrate on what you know and stop displaying stupidity. Edo is a language spoken by people in that region with little variation. Am part Edo and part Delta so I should know. The Itsekiri's wish to be slaves under Odua republic will soon come to fruition. |

PapaBrowne: Suddenly, the grand proponents of SNC are shying away from it. Hypocrisy is a disease. Wouldn't this be a great opportunity to state your cause. Shouldn't you be looking to take advantage of this SNC you have always craved for.
Its here right now for you to grab, but no you suddenly don't want it anymore. Hypocrisy.
They said Abiola must be immortalised. They screamed and shouted. Then UNILAG was renamed after Abiola and they said never ever. They said Jonathan is not tough on Boko Haram. He got tough and declared state of Emergency, they said it is political and genocidal. They said Lagos Ibadan expressway concession should be revoked. It was revoked and reawarded to Julius Berger, they said no no no. They have screamed about Sovereign national conference since I was in Primary School, then Jonathan shows interest and they say no they dont want it anymore.
What kind of people are these?? This pathetic hatred is consuming basis senses out of your brains. Once again, shouldn't you at least seek to hijack and take advantage of the Sovereign National Conference that is about to be declared. Why are you suddenly scared? Or are you suddenly realizing that you are aligned with the North and the South South and the South East are super united as never before hence and SNC would not exactly pan out as you always wanted it? Seriously, be ashamed and very very ashamed of yourselves, the two of you.
About Abiola, June 12 2013 marked exactly 20 years since that monumental election was annulled. It passed like it never happened without any memorable celebration. The reason was simple. The hypocrisy of the cries about June 12 had been exposed with the rejection of Abiola in 2012. It was a historic rejection by folks who had used Abiola for 19 years to express thier natural opposition to anything that doesn't originate from them. By them, I don't refer to an entire tribe as most of the people of the south west are some of the most admirable people on the face of the planet. I refer to the loudmouthed tribalistic ones who usually run their mouths with a mountainous mix of ignorance and hypocrisy and many of them exist here on Nairaland. |

Politics › Re: Northern Govs In Jonathan’s Camp Are Deceiving Him –shehu Sani by ShineIt: 1:43pm On Sep 15, 2013 |
Sincere 9gerian: "Northerners came out en-masse to vote for him even when some of us said they should not vote for him" -Shehu Sani
Isn't an irony that the above statement came from one of the northerners who vehemently opposed GEJ's election in 2011? http://www.nigerianbestforum.com/generaltopics/shehu-sani-warns-jonathan-against-contesting-2011-presidential-election/ http://www.gbooza.com/group/nigeriapolitics/forum/topics/2011-how-north-will-defeat#axzz2ewwzLfSo
"To be fair to him (GEJ), no government in Nigeria has appointed so many northerners into government than that of Jonathan" -Shehu Sani
Atleast Shehu has confirmed by the above statement that the fierce opposition to GEJ from certain elements from the north is not because GEJ is marginalising the north or any part of the country, whether in terms of appointments or project execution. So why the fierce opposition? Why the pull-him-down syndrome? I can only see heavy dose of tribal bigotry at work
Here's Sani before 2011 election:
Moreover, when President Goodluck Jonathan confirmed that he would contest the 2011 presidential election, great opposition rose against him in the North. The first bombshell came from Shehu Sani, a Kaduna based civil rights activist who said, “President Goodluck Jonathan should not contemplate contesting the 2011 presidential election. Any attempt by him to contest amounts to incitement and a recipe for political instability. Even though rotational presidency is unconstitutional, it has been able to address problems of regional, ethnic, sectional domination and marginalization”. The warning precluding President Jonathan from contesting the 2011 presidential election did not stop with Shehu Sani as Alhaji Lawal Kaita, a close associate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar added his voice to the agitation when he said, “The North is determined, if it happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power on the platform of the PDP against the principle of the party’s zoning policy. Anything short of a Northerner president is tantamount to stealing our presidency. Jonathan has to go and he will go. Even if he uses incumbency power to get his nomination on the platform of the PDP, he would be frustrated out”. With these words, the battle line between President Jonathan and his opponents was drawn.
General Muhammadu Buhari(rtd) did not hide his feelings toward President Jonathan’s presidential ambition as he said, “There may be no Nigeria. I draw parallel with Somalia so many times (Somalisation of Nigeria). I am scared about that.
It is not knew, they will continue to try and rant why GEJ continues to thrive. |

ba7man: Just the ingenious way Gov Fashola tackled the problem of waste evacuation is revolutionary in Nigeria.
He encouraged private investors to purchase garbage trucks and register waste disposal comapnies. They register with the Lagos State Government and you're given a number of streets you're to service. The residents pay you and you remit a certain amount back to LASG. Everybody's happy and more people get paid. It didn't work, I still see a lot of you shiiiting in poles. |

The Yorubas through Tinubu has conceded leadership to the north but the SS/SE politicians should know that if Awusa ever gets power again, it will be a different generation for it to come back to the south. |

We admire entrepreneurs, people who worked smart and clean, not thieves!!! Bros did you notice the 2nd and 3rd names on that list are Yorubas, and they made their money from "our oil".
