They said Abiola must be immortalised. They screamed and shouted. Then UNILAG was renamed after Abiola and they said never ever.

About Abiola, June 12 2013 marked exactly 20 years since that monumental election was annulled. It passed like it never happened without any memorable celebration. The reason was simple. The hypocrisy of the cries about June 12 had been exposed with the rejection of Abiola in 2012. It was a historic rejection by folks who had used Abiola for 19 years to express thier natural opposition to anything that doesn't originate from them. By them, I don't refer to an entire tribe as most of the people of the south west are some of the most admirable people on the face of the planet. I refer to the loudmouthed tribalistic ones who usually run their mouths with a mountainous mix of ignorance and hypocrisy and many of them exist here on Nairaland.

Atleast Shehu has confirmed by the above statement that the fierce opposition to GEJ from certain elements from the north is not because GEJ is marginalising the north or any part of the country, whether in terms of appointments or project execution. So why the fierce opposition? Why the pull-him-down syndrome? I can only see heavy dose of tribal bigotry at work

With these words, the battle line between President Jonathan and his opponents was drawn.

General Muhammadu Buhari(rtd) did not hide his feelings toward President Jonathan’s presidential ambition as he said, “There may be no Nigeria. I draw parallel with Somalia so many times (Somalisation of Nigeria). I am scared about that.

ba7man: Just the ingenious way Gov Fashola tackled the problem of waste evacuation is revolutionary in Nigeria.

He encouraged private investors to purchase garbage trucks and register waste disposal comapnies. They register with the Lagos State Government and you're given a number of streets you're to service. The residents pay you and you remit a certain amount back to LASG. Everybody's happy and more people get paid.

remark D: Kind Sir, I commend you for your efforts in showing us (here on NL, especially Nigerians abroad still keen on happenings in Naija) the strides of the GEJ government. Keep it up, don't get discouraged by cyber goats and selfish people that can not see anything good if its not coming from their part of the country.
