Whereas in every society there's no country in the world that does not subsidize one product or the other, even in the most advanced capitalist societies. This is why Nigerians must begin to ask the government to discard and jettison the deleterious(harmful, detrimental) programs and policies of the IMF and world bank Just last month, the IMF was accusing the British government of not investing enough in education and health; these same institutions are asking our government to remove all subsidies and impose a rash of increases on goods and services in our country. The only economic body recognized by the constitution to advice the president is the National Economic Council; why has that body abdicated its responsibility to the IMF and World bank? Majority of the members are elected, they must advise the president based on what the people are saying, based on their demands. The IMF and world bank was set up by imperialism principally to destroy the economies of developing countries, they turn the other eye when western countries are giving subsidies to their people. The IMF should be interested in the $3.5 Billion loan it gave to Nigeria that can not be located and stop mounting pressure on government to multiply the hardship of Nigerians. Section 16 of the constitution as stipulated that the government of Nigeria shall be under a legal obligation to plan and run the economy of Nigeria to promote happiness and not sadness as it is the case now. This wonderful country has enormous and natural resources if well husbanded we should have no business with poverty." 2 Likes |

The proper course of action is to address the matter in court and seek to overturn the orders if there are grounds to do so..
