PoliticsRe: The Revolution Started In Nigeria! by shotster50(m): 4:10am On Feb 22, 2011
June 12 is the closest thing we have in Nigeria to what is happening in North Egypt,  but to say it is the same, is completely wrong.
PoliticsRe: The Revolution Started In Nigeria! by shotster50(m): 3:54am On Feb 22, 2011
You simply cant compare June 12 to what is happening in Northern Africa right now.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Govt To Evacuate Nigerians From War-Torn Libya by shotster50(m): 2:59am On Feb 22, 2011
Any sensible Nigerian in Libya should have left by now, except of course you want to meet the fate of the 'African' mercenaries.
PoliticsRe: Where Are the Nigerian Mercenaries Shooting Libyans In Cold Blood Based? by shotster50(m): 2:43am On Feb 22, 2011
Italy has the most interest in this Libya saga, one is Libya is very close to Italy and from all indications, there are definitely going to be shiploads of Libyans making their way to Italy.
Another angle is the fear in Europe that if Ghadaffi is toppled, their is a risk of civil war/Islamic militants at their doorstep.

cap28:
Bro Gadaffi is not one of the most evil dictators in the world,  as a matter of fact i would never use the adjective "evil" to describe him, you might want to try the Saudi Royal Family that carry out public beheadings, amputations and stonings and  are involved in extraordinary rendition with US approval (torturing of political prisoners deported from the US).

He is merely a scapegoat.

America has been cosying up to some of the most brutal dictators and mass murderers  for as long as i can remember As long as those dictators  implemented neo liberal economic policies which favoured american multinationals then everythign was okay, however, the minute these dictators moved away from this and began to implement policies which favoured the poor ie land redistribution, imposition of a minimum wage, increased public spending on public services like schools, health care facilities etc they became a problem.

Here are just a few of america's dictator pals: Pinochet of Chile, mass murderer and kleptocrat
Pol Pot of Cambodia - mass murderer  (who slaughtered millions of his own people including women and children)
Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire - mass murderer and kleptocrat
Sadam Hussein - mass murderer was a close ally to the US until he invaded Kuwait and  tried to start exporting  oil using euros instead of the reserve currency of dollars
Suharto of Indonesia - mass murderer and kleptocrat
I do not dispute the above but do you think it would have been any different if say an African country to be as big and powerful as America? Like I said on a different thread, it is the natural rule of law, The stronger will always try the keep the weak in that same position. It is called National interest.

@ cap28,

In as much as sometimes I sympathise with your anti American, Anti Western posts, but there has to be a limit, surely you of all people should know that Libya has one of the most evil dictators ever?!! You simply cannot justify Ghadaffi's actions. I find it appaling that you are pointing fingers at America!! Do you mean to say that Libyans do not have the right to sack that despot?

A 10 bedroom house in Lekki phase 1? Jimmy Jatt? I'm not convinced that he doesn't have his hands in other extra-legal activities. His music business certainly wouldn't avail him of such. He's no P Square or D'Banj.
Hahahahaha typical Nigerian.
