A colleague has even asked the police to help him locate his landlord so that he can pay up his rent to no avail. The said landlord is neither picking his calls nor responding to SMS. He has been avoiding his house like a plague for a while now. His family does not live with him and no one knows his whereabout.

But a fellow tenant has dropped a hint that his daughter confessed that the landlord did something unimaginable in that compound.

What will be the penalty if the landlord refuses to show up via police invitation?

What happened to those days of women football in Africa when Nigeria usually win all their games by very wide goal margins?

I hope to give this message as much publicity it deserves, and this is my own take so far concerning the issue of blasphemy which has found its way into our everyday vocabulary in Nigeria, recently.

Religion in Nigeria, before the "White man" brought what they called "civilization", was not known to cause problems in ancient times. Different tribes practised whatever could grant them divine intervention in their daily human affairs. We read in history how the Yorubas worshipped the different gods/deities of Ogun, Shango, Òbatala, etc. The Ibos worshipped Agwu, Amadioha, Ikenga, etc. The Hausas worshipped Barbushe, Baleri, Tsimburbura, etc in the pre-Islamic times. The functions of the different gods is a matter for further discourse another time.

When Christianity and Islam were introduced to Nigeria, two major Books were introduced also; the Bible and Quran which served as a guide in practising these religions, succinctly put. Both books are seen as holy, and most of all the texts written therein is seen to unite the human race while suing for peace in the world at large.

How then did we get it wrong, and at what time? For instance, people view things the way they are, and not how those things actually are. There came radical preachers whose interpretation of these texts conveyed their personality. Their views became popular because of their type of audience. They preached violence, extracting texts and inciting division amongst people who shared same faith. Because the people being preached to had similar personalities, it was easier to inculcate such to them. The Hausas/Fulanis and to a large extent most Northerners are known warriors who never give up in battles until they win. We see this in their doggedness in politics and businesses. The average nomad or even wristwatch seller carries daggers/knives with him. It's established fact. In the face of slight provocations, they brandish their weapons to maim or even kill.

On the other hand, the Southerners enjoy making education a priority, especially the Yorubas. It shows in the statistics of Professors and professionals in the different fields. It is rare to find a core Northerner dominating in fields known to the Yorubas. They are usually celebrated when such happens. An understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of our diverse tribes is important. Anything that hinders their successes in this field meets resistance. But because they are learned, they often fear to act crude. They won't fight but follow diplomacy, hence the phrase used that they are cowards. The Ibos drive the economy of the nation. Whether in business or the corporate world, they enjoy so much successes. It is often said that if you find yourself in a place where there is no Ibo person or Coca Cola, you know you are in danger. They have no leader right from time who they listen to. The few leaders are often selfish and egoistic to the detriment of their subordinates. Igbo enweghe Eze!

With all these background information, how could we not make the most of it in a country blessed with so much natural resources?

The answer is simple. The Nigerian people are FRUSTRATED! A country so blessed with human talents, natural resources and great potentials lack a set of leaders who can harness all of these in making Nigeria great. Leaders are often an offshoot of followers. It is the followers who eventually become leaders. The followers manifest what they are taught in their homes, the schools and places of worship. This is where the crux of the matter lies. Every religious, political or business leader passed through these phases and some droplets of imbibing were deposited in them. How can a man kill his fellow human being without blinking or even remorseful?

Why hide under religion to commit heinous crimes? This is because religion is held sacred in Nigeria and often seen as superior to the laws governing the country. Hence, the matter becomes sensitive once a religious colouration is given to it. The murders of certain persons under the guise of religion is always hurriedly swept under the carpet than if it had no religious inclinations. We must learn to live in the type of peace written in texts in the holy books.

Another point of mention is that fighting for a god who we do not see makes us senseless and crude, and better than that which we claim to worship. You protect your god, instead of the other way round where divinity supersedes humanity. It makes no sense. When you insult a dibia or babalawo, whether in words or actions, the repercussions usually come spiritually. They do not fight you physically. That is worthy of emulation to both the Christian and Muslim Communities.

I don't know whose duties it is to verify news sources before posting on this platform, but I think it is high time facts get checked before bringing it to the public.

Secondly, the headline of any news story gives you an insight to what you're going to read. This means that your headline should be brief, concise and explanatory enough to draw your curiosity to read further. If the headline is different from the body of the news, it is misleading and quite dangerous in the media circle. Another aspect to this is that the spellings should be correct to give the news medium a better packaging.

Let me stop here and draw this to the attention of the moderators.

In the short run, you may not be affected because the system will try to absorb your data and regularise any inconsistencies within a period of time. This gives rise to a long term problem which, when not handled properly will be a big problem for you.

If I were you, I'd start the process of regularising my information to be in tandem so as not to cause any future problems. First, get an affidavit to cover up the disparities, and approach either your bank or your Desk Officer (depending on where your exact information is).

Two years ago, some civil servants lost salaries for some months because they refused to update their pension details. And if you're caught, you may be prosecuted in line with the Public Service Rules on falsification of information.

Have you ever wondered why the animals in the Garden of Eden never posed a physical threat to Adam and Eve, or why the wild animals Noah kept in the Ark never attacked him and his family? It is because in the beginning, God created humans and animals to be vegetarians. Don’t take my word for it. Let Scripture convince you:

Genesis 1:29 is for humans:

“Then God said, "I give you every SEED-BEARING PLANT on the face of the whole earth and EVERY TREE that has FRUIT with seed in it. They will be yours for FOOD.”

Genesis 1:30 is for animals:

“And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so.”

The difference God made between the food for humans and animals is that we were only to eat fruits and vegetables that had SEED in it. While animals were allowed to eat any fruit and vegetable, whether or not it had seeds.

Yes, Cain kept livestock-Genesis 4:2. But he did NOT eat them. They were for sacrifice.

From Genesis 1 to Genesis 9, you will not find even one verse were any man or animal ate meat. So why did man and animal start eating meat?

Genesis 9:3 gives us the answer. That verse reads:

“Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the GREEN PLANTS, I NOW give you everything.”

Notice the word ‘NOW’. God gave man and animal meat to eat because the Great Flood had destroyed all vegetation on Earth. It took a while for the Earth to be revegetated.

But then you will notice something. Noah and his ancestors all lived extraordinarily long. It was only after Noah and his children started eating meat that their lifespan reduced. Let me give my readers some examples.

Adam lived for 930 years. His son Seth, lived for 912 years. Seth’s son, Enosh lived for 905 years. Enosh’ son, Kenan, lived for 910 years. Kenan’s son, Mahalalel, lived for 895 years. Mahalalel’s son, Jared, lived for 962 years. Jared’s son, Enoch, lived for 365 years, but never died. He was taken to heaven, alive. Enoch’s son, Methuselah, lived for 969 years (the man with the longest lifespan ever). Methuselah’s son, Lamech, lived for 777 years. Lamech was the father of Noah. Noah lived to be 950 years. You can find these information in Genesis chapter 5.

Now go to Genesis 11. After man started eating meat, Shem, Noah’s son, lived for 500 years, which is half his father’s lifespan. His son, Arphaxad, lived for 403 years. Arphaxad’s son, Shelah, also lived for 403 years. Shelah’s son, Eber, lived for 430 years. Eber’s son, Peleg, lived for 209 years. Peleg’s son, Reu, lived for 207 years. Reu’s son, Serug, lived for 200 years. Serug’s son, Nahor, lived for 119 years. Nahor gave birth to Terah, who was the father of Abraham.

So you can see that it was AFTER man started eating meat that we started to live shorter and shorter lifespans.

Consult your doctor and he will tell you that if you want to live a long and healthy life, you must stop eating or reduce your intake of red meat.

In Japan, the nation with the highest life expectancy in the world, the eating of meat was banned for centuries. Google it. Even after the ban was lifted in the last century, the Japanese still rarely consume red meat. That is the secret of their longevity.

If you want to live a long, healthy and happy life, your chances are increased (but not guaranteed), if you can eat only fruit and vegetables. And not just any. Eat organic fruit and vegetables.

Think back to Daniel. Daniel 1:8 reads:

“Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not DEFILE himself with the portion of the king's MEAT”.

Daniel was a vegetarian. Daniel 1:12 reads:

“Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but VEGETABLES to eat and water to drink.”

Daniel 1:15 reads:

“At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.”

I am proof of Daniel’s word. I don’t eat meat. I eat only organic fruit and vegetables. I eat fish and seafood. Yet, I am stronger and healthier than my own blood brother who eats meat, despite the fact that I am 10 years older than him. He travels the world with me. I run everyday for an hour. He lasts 30 minutes and gives up.

I never get sick, even though my brother gets sick periodically. Health insurance is wasted on me. Without trying to be vain, I look physically good though I am 46 years old this year (2020).

Follow the word of God. Eat and live as it says you should. “It shall be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones.”-Proverbs 3:8.

If a doctor tells you you are going to die next month, you will make peace with God and man and start living right. But we will all die one day. Tomorrow is promised to no man. Why wait until death is imminent before having a conscience at peace with God and man?
