National Leader of the All Progressives Congress,
APC, Bola Tinubu, has denied raising alarm over plans
by defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
to scuttle the succession plans of President
Muhammadu Buhari for the 2019 general election.
Tinubu who subtly threw his weight behind Buhari and
his possible successor for 2019, distanced himself
from an earlier statement credited to him, and
maintained that it was a clandestine plot to cause
disaffection within the ranks in the APC.
Earlier, Tinubu was reported to have expressed
disappointment in the level of defections into the
party, and was quoted to have said that Buhari’s
succession plans may be scuttled by former members
of the PDP, now in the APC.

Tinubu observed that an online media “Newswire” and
a section of the social media were being used by the
PDP for a concerted campaign against his person.
The report by Newswire had quoted the APC leader as
expressing fears that the influx of PDP members
would “crumble the APC, especially if President Buhari
decides to do just a term.”
The report further quoted Tinubu as saying: “The
President Buhari I know has very good intentions for
Nigeria and he would want to hand over to someone
he deems not to be corrupt.
According to a close source within the party, the
decision of the APC leader to distance himself from
the purported interview was a signal to his
endorsement of Buhari’s succession plans for 2019.
Tinubu, however, said he did not grant any interview
to any news medium and could never have said what
was ascribed to him.
He said it was a hatchet man’s job aimed at causing
disaffection in APC.

“It is even possible that the President already has
a successor in mind. And the danger is this: at the
fullness of time, these PDP defectors will form an
unholy alliance with some politicians in APC and
across the board to thwart the President’s
succession plan. And that will be the end of the
APC and a new rising for the PDP.”
“I’m not elated about the news of former senators
and even serving ones defecting to the APC. Even
if a governor from the opposition defects today, I
will not celebrate it.
“I think the President should be leery and
extremely cautious of these PDP defectors and
should not give them any serious responsibilities
because at the appropriate time, they will
manifest great evil and disaster against the
President and the APC.” He was quoted to have
said in the purported interview.
“It is not the first time that kind of story would be
ascribed to me even though I did not grant
anyone an interview. It is a hatchet man’s job
whose purpose is to cause disaffection in our
great party,” he said.

Buhari is confused. He doesn't understand the dynamics of politics in an equally dynamic nation as ours.
The only language he understands is "revenge". If you're not in his plans to fight you, you're not in his mind at all.
At this time in the history of our great nation, we don't need the president chasing his personal vendetta against good governance. We need a president who can bridge the gap between the rich and poor, and also douse religious tensions.

Before penning this down, I have made up my mind for the bashing that will come from the jobless Buhari worshipers and see nothing wrong with him. But the task first is to rescue the nation before it collapse.

The 2016 budget is the worst in history, best described as a budget of fraud and criminals. It’s time we begin to prepare our mind for any eventuality that will get Osibanjo sworn in as a President. The President has already admitted that he’s very sick but refused to disclose the ailment for us. If not, why will his PERSONAL MEDICAL SERVICES gulp a whooping N230 Million while a whole NATIONAL HOSPITAL, ABUJA that takes care of over 50,000 Nigerians be allocated ordinary N103 Million?

This government is sure going to run on propaganda and they are well prepared, hence they budgeted N39 Billion for Liar Mohammed to oil his lying wheel while a nation that talks of being a technology state gives N9 Billion to Mines and Steel. In an era where we should be going back to Agriculture, a mere sum of N29 Billion was allocated to it.

Now we know that Osibanjo is now a lawmaker or board member and not the Vice President. What the hell is he going to be paid over N307 Million as sitting allowance and honorarium for? Buhari has no agenda for this nation but to turn it into a gambling place. In his Boko Haramic mind, he budgeted over N500 Million to buy JUST a land for the building of the National lottery trust fund. How much will the building now cost.

Lest we forget, where was Namdi Sambo staying as Vice President, that another N3.9 Billion was budgeted to design and construct a new residence. Schools have no chairs and tables, yet N415 Million will be spent to buy table for the ministry of ICT while N585 Million will be spent on table. Kai, Buhari, you are worse than the name corruption.

What happened to the state clinic that Jonathan used and furnished with drugs and furniture that another N3.9 Billion will go in for it again? And to even imagine that he won’t be treated in it.

Buhari should quietly leave the seat for a more honorable Nigerian and go abroad for his junketing. After all, he has already planned to squander N714 Million on travels excluding aviation fuel that will be used to power the ten private jets.

This President is a thief, criminal and a dictator that means bad for us as a people and nation. The over N20 Billion budgeted to spy social media users can begin its work on those of us who have sworn to kick this government and bring it to its knees. No APC social media personality can stop this tide and rise to pull down this government if it continues to be anti masses. I pity the APC folks who work free whereas 30 dedicated Buharists are earning N250k monthly for posting on Facebook and twitter.

 

These little things matter…

It is clear from last night's Presidential Media Chat that Buhari has not changed thirty one years on. He has remained an unrepentant dictator. His utterances and body language betrayed him especially towards the end of the chat.
He goofed on the obedience of court orders. When asked why Dasuki and Nnamdi Kanu are constantly denied bail even after the courts granted them such, he became the prosecutor and judge at the same time saying they can never be freed.

It is now official: we are in a dictatorship in Nigeria.

I truly feel sorry for the way Buhari wants to run this country. But one factor he left out of his boasts was God. No matter how hard you try to frustrate a man, if it is not God's will, it will fail whether you are the president or not.

I urge all Nigerians to learn how to pray better in 2016 for themselves and their families because the Federal Government is hell bent for a hard time on its citizens.

One should not comment on every topic - that's wisdom.

There are certain issues that man cannot find answers to except it is given from Above. As long as your conscience permits you to do it, do it because we all do not have equal level of grace in our lives.

May God show us mercy and give us wisdom.

If true, then it is/was daft move by the military. During the APC presidential elections campaign, they made very bold promises to end the Book Haram issue almost immediately if voted into power. I recall Buhari's campaign early that as Head of State, he singlehandedly disbanded a sect that was rising at that time in the North. I cannot tell how relevant that was to what we are facing now.
Now it is crystal clear that twenty years down the line, Buhari has just stepped on the lion's tail waiting for a Southerner to become a president so they can launch a full scale war.

We have seen things in this country... Being tolerant on the side of the poor masses is not a virtue but a function of hunger, frustration and confusion.
When I see the amount "wasted" by this government in their projects of priority, I am tempted to say they have no direction.
What are they celebrating? What are they dining to when the masses are still expecting the "miracles" they promised, considering they rode to victory on the back of frivolous spendings by the past administration? It is wickedness to be happy and dining as an employer when the workforce are yet to get their salaries for previous month.. Even the past administration alleged to be wicked payed salaries promptly. We have indeed seen things.

The last salary came very late and their lies were centred on crashed computers and no finance minister. Now that all these are in place, what next for civil servants whose only source of income is their salary? Some earn as low as twenty thousand naira, yet the money does not come regularly when due.

they represented the 36 states and the FCT. The pageant was tightly contested and
the 15 girls that made it to the last 15 are Miss Anambra, Miss Edo, Miss Bauchi, Miss
Abuja, Miss Osun, Miss Borno, Miss Ekiti, Miss Ebonyi, Miss Cross River, Miss Benue,
Miss Zamfara, Miss Delta, Miss Nassarawa, Miss Kano and Miss Katsina.
From the top 15, the top 5 were selected to eliminate 10 contestants. The top 5

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that it is not easy for his administration to fight terrorism, oil theft and corruption at the same time. But he said in spite of the difficulties being faced in fighting these scourge, his administration would not relent in eliminating the vices from the nation’s body polity.
Buhari said this when the President of Togo, Faure Gnassingbe, visited him in Abuja on Thursday.
The President, who expressed appreciation for Gnassingbe’s visit and for his concern about regional security, said his regime was being challenged with the Boko Haram insurgency, oil theft, illegal fishing, oil pollution and illegal dumping of toxins in the country.
Buhari said it was not easy for his administration, which he said, was fighting on many fronts. According to him, the government is contending with insurgency in the North-East and oil theft in the South-South while trying to provide infrastructure in the country at the same time. He said, “His (Gnassingbe’s) concern about regional security made it imperative for him to organise a summit on maritime security and development in November to examine a lot of issues.
“As for Nigeria, we are grateful for the sympathy and the goodwill expressed, touching on the performance of our armed forces and law enforcement agencies, since this administration came into being. It is not easy trying to fight on so many fronts, the North-East, the South-South and then try to provide infrastructure in our country.”
The President observed that the cooperation of the regional countries comprising Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin Republic had resulted in the isolation of Boko Haram and peace in the region.
He also advised African countries to pay attention to agriculture and manufacturing to provide jobs for the jobless.
Earlier, the Togolese President had invited Buhari to a security and piracy summit scheduled for Lome in November. Gnassingbe said his country was organising the summit because $7bn had been lost to piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. The Togolese leader told Buhari that the security summit would deal with issues of piracy, oil theft, environmental pollution, immigration as well as human and drug trafficking.
He therefore called on African nations to collaborate to combat the scourge and security challenges in the sub region. Gnassingbe commended Buhari and the Nigerian security forces for the work they were doing to combat terrorism in West Africa.
When asked by journalists if African countries were not hosting too many summits, Gnassingbe disagreed, saying the summits were not enough. He said, “Piracy alone costs the Gulf of Guinea $7bn a year, that is what we lose for not combating it and we also know that without cooperation you cannot combat piracy, but the first stage is to come together and talk.
“If all the African countries are on the same page, it would be easy to tackle the security challenges, so we have to keep holding summits, because individual countries cannot combat piracy effectively without cooperation. “If you try to fight them in Togo, they go to the next country, then you don’t have the mechanism to go into the other countries. So, summits are necessary, they are not even sufficient.”

Looking back, I can deduce that my attachment to MTN was more sentimental than practical, as your tariffs are the highest for calls and for browsing. You send an average of 100 spam texts per day, enough to run down a Blackberry battery and more than enough to give any Osun State government worker waiting for Aregbesola’s alert acute hypertension. Your nuisance value knows no bounds.
Even Airtel that has been passed round different investors more times than a devil’s mail bag has not come up with this kind of Grade A foolishness. What the heck is wrong with you? Don’t your customers mean anything to you? Doesn’t it bother you that Nigerians who wasted their time to register their SIM cards have to do the same thing again? You haven’t even deemed it fit to fine-tune the process.
It doesn’t make sense to preserve bad experiences like these, in very much the same way that one "relic" of history is preserving mud huts, and stating them on an assets’ declaration form. Here, Mr. Fe Made shares imaginary opinions on the Nigerian political scene and the challenges of publicising a very reticent president.

Concerned Citizen: So, Mr. Fe Made, do you really think President Buhari has had an effect on the Nigerian condition so far?

Fe Made: This question is unnecessary. Observe the President’s poise and calm. Don’t you see the sincerity oozing out of his every pore? Mama mia! How can you even ask such a question? As Marcus Aurelius says in Meditations “Waste no more time arguing about what a good person should be. Be one!” O pari. Shikena. Okwu agwu. Finito.

Concerned Citizen: I appreciate your enthusiasm, sir. In fact, I also voted for President Buhari and I eagerly anticipate change. But, surely, as a national spokesperson, you should be able to explain some tangible policies of government to us ordinary Nigerians. We’re just eager to know what to expect.

Fe Made: There is no mystery here. We have a new sheriff in town and he has come to stamp his authority on the situation by sheer force of personality and presence. This is all that matters to the ordinary Nigerian.

Concerned Citizen: I’m not so sure, sir. Considering that the President’s personality cannot survive the office, shouldn’t the government pursue a more lasting methodology?

Fe Made: The methodology is very clear: some call it the Buhari Bounce. Others describe it as the Buhari Effect. Yet some others say it is the Buhari Aura. The important thing is that there is a Buhari Method.

Concerned Citizen: In that case, won’t the later appointment of Ministers affect or conflict with the Buhari method? Especially if you consider that there are no clear policies statements on the Buhari Bounce?

Fe Made: This is not possible. The Buhari Aura ensures that only appoint people who share the ideals of the Buhari Method will get into public office.

Concerned Citizen: And what do you think of those who say the president ought to have, you know, hit the ground running?

Fe Made: When you hit the ground, and you land in mud, how do you begin to run immediately? You can only sink deeper if you attempt to run. The thing to do is to first clear the mud, till you get to terra firma, and then you can begin to run.

Concerned Citizen: I am confused, sir. Is the Buhari Bounce not enough to scale the mud on the ground so that we can immediately have the Buhari Moving?

Fe Made: There is nothing to be confused about. We have the Buhari Bounce on one hand. And then we have the Buhari Sprint on another hand. The strength of the Buhari Bounce is what will determine the intensity of the Buhari Sprint. All of this will eventually translate into the Buhari Kicking.

Concerned Citizen: I understand this to mean we will have two levels of change: change by the sheer force of the Buhari Aura. And afterwards, change by policies implemented through Buhari Method. But for now, while the policies are being formulated, we can rely on the Buhari Chilling.

Fe Made: Exactly.

Concerned Citizen: So can you tell us some areas that have seen change through the Buhari Effect?



Fe Made: Electricity has climbed to about 5,000 Megawatts. Some refineries, which had not produced a drop of fuel for years, have cracked into life. Even the perennial queues in our petrol stations have disappeared, vanished. Those things simply responded to the presence of the new sheriff in town.

Concerned Citizen: This is all very amazing. But will the Buhari Bounce influence the core aspects of anti-corruption? For example, while it may make some civil servants sit-up, is it enough to control the established politicians who run the political party systems?

Fe Made: Publicly funded politicians may plague a party, but unless Buhari works with all sorts, power will have evaded him like a pie in the sky. See, there is no romance without finance. But does associating with corrupt people necessarily mean you get contaminated? Only if you are not your own person! President Buhari is a geometric expert—he knows where to draw the line.

Concerned Citizen: That is a very encouraging insight into the Buhari Stand, sir. Some people have suggested that the president should make a decisive statement on corruption by instantly ordering the police to investigate his own political associates?

Fe Made: These are not the killing fields of Kigali. Think, Nigeria, think! The president cannot act like a dictator. He has to follow the proper processes. He cannot just march into town with guns blazing, shooting malefactors to kingdom come.

Concerned Citizen: That would be very bloody, indeed. But isn’t that the responsibility of a new sheriff?

Fe Made: Yes. That’s part of the Buhari Mantra and you will see its fruits very soon. But sincere Nigerians trust the president. These questions are from some those determined to undermine the administration with their loud lamentations. They are the insincere ones, scoffers, naysayer, only hoping to see failure. They can’t wait to turn up their noses in derision, hopping from one leg to the other, and declaring: “We said it! The change they preached was just a mantra. It’s 100 days. It’s six months. It’s one year, two years, three years. Where is the change?”.

Concerned Citizen: Does the Buhari Mantra include any steps to unify the emotions of the country, considering also that political appointments so far seem to be rather skewed in the favour of his loyal Northern colleagues?

Fe Made: President Buhari got a national mandate. He has a national agenda, none other. He has said he belongs to nobody and he belongs to everybody. No cause for alarm except for those who are in the grip of relentless hatred, consumed by paroxysms of bitterness, grudge and acidity. The wailing wailers.

Concerned Citizen: I’m not sure I agree with this, sir. After all, there are about 13 million Nigerians who chose to vote for other candidates in the election. Certainly, criticisms from that quarter should be taken seriously?

Fe Made: Nonsense. These criticisms are not from ordinary Nigerians. They are from the wailing wailers. The chatterboxes of Chatham House.

Concerned Citizen: You keep referring to these wailing wailers. Who do you mean?

Fe Made: Don’t even get me started. These people are the hoisters of hubris. Proud. Arrogant. Insufferable. Conceited. The retrogrades of reversed rhyming.

Concerned Citizen:You really like these funky expressions: I’m not even sure I understand that last sentence. But, these people that really seem to piss you off, who are they, exactly?

Fe Made: Who else? They are the infestations of my social media accounts. Thriving in clouds of cantankerous comments and vales of vile views. They are the political commentators on Nigerian twitter. They have made my daytime a nightmare and my nighttime a hell. These days I become terrified just to sign into my account. Everything I tweet is a problem to them. And even when I am silent, that is a problem too. I have come to the conclusion that Nigerian Twitter is the real opposition party. The PDP is small potatoes compared to this Twitter Party. Nothing can content Nigerian political Twitter. Facebook people are more manageable, but Twitter people are horrible. Their attention span is nil. Like a child, they always look for the next gratification. They await the next scandal, headline, opinion, or trend just to gnaw at it and pass on their half-baked opinions. If the president makes no appointment, they will complain. When he does, they will say it doesn’t match federal character. If he picks from the South-East, they will say the person is not a true Igbo. If he picks from the South-West, they will say the president is repaying Tinubu. How can you satisfy such a lot? The problems of these twitter people are more than the problems of Nigeria.

Concerned Citizen: I am so sorry to hear that, why not simply delete your twitter account? This is possible, right?

Fe Made: Oh, but they planned their siege very well. Before President Buhari even mounted the podium to be sworn in, these twitter people had created and verified accounts for the presidency, for Aso Rock, for his wife. They even created one for his daughter. We had to start shutting down some accounts. But the damage was done. It was too late to back out of social media. So, close but no cigar. We were surrounded. We were surrounded. Remember Naboth in the Bible? We had been set up by the Jezebels. Like Ceasar, I found myself in the midst of enemies we called friends. E tu @Rosanwo? E tu @DoubleEph? We have been fixed, it is too late to back out. Just like the way they circulated this 100 days covenant, we found ourselves saddled with social media expectations we did not anticipate. Such insidious incapacitation.

Concerned Citizen: Wow! This is horrible. But isn’t social media a vital tool in modern politics? Why not simply take time to explain the Buhari Method to these people?

Fe Made: It seems you are one of the wailing wailers. Can you compare our level of technological development with that of developed democracies? Just because some Nigerians have access to the Internet doesn’t mean all of Nigeria is online. Up to 70% of Nigerians are still battling poverty. But these wailers would not allow us some breathing space. They expect to be pampered and breastfed with each passing news or opinion while ignoring the majority of Nigerians. But we shall not allow them to distract our mission.

Concerned Citizen: If you don’t want to delete your account, you can, at least, detach yourself from—.

Fe Made: Hang on! To all the satirical saboteurs, barricade-mounters and wailing wailers, hear this: we shall not fail. There’s an ace up our sleeves, things are in the bag, we will bring the house down, we will turn up trumps, we have a foot in the door and we are on course for success, this is a dead cert—uphill all the way, we are off to a flying start and coming out with flying colours, we’ve come a long way and we’re making headway, we’re riding high and the sky’s the limit—.

Concerned Citizen: Mr. Fe Made, thanks for the idioms but—.

Fe Made: I am not done! They may try to throw a spanner in the works but they can’t run rings around us, even when things lead to a dead end, we’ll live to fight another day, this is no flash in the pan and we won’t be going up in smoke, victory is assured even in the face of defeat, we won’t fall at first hurdle even if the dice are loaded. We—.

Concerned Citizen: But can you just give us an insight into these plans that you intend to succeed at? Really, just give us a clue. Is the president a believer in market economics? What land, labour and tax reforms can we look forward to? How about constitutional reforms—particularly in resource control, the independence of states, and the revocation of the immunity clause? What impact does the delisting of Nigerian bonds by JP Morgan have on the policy goals? Are there even any measurable policy goals? Please, just let us know what policy direction to expect, you know, apart from “anti-corruption”, free meals projects and defeating Boko Haram.

Fe Made: You are definitely a wailer! All these requests for policy, policy, policy! Can’t you have some faith in the Buhari Effect like normal Nigerians? You concerned Nigerians are the worst. Okay, you want the truth? There is no policy! I don’t know!

Concerned Citizen: You don’t know?

Fe Made: Look, I don’t know! You will just have to wait for the president to explain himself when he is ready.

Concerned Citizen: Isn’t that supposed to be your job? Discuss with the president and communicate to us?

Fe Made: The president doesn’t discuss anything with anybody. Still waters run deep.

Concerned Citizen: This, I believe, is what is called the Buhari Suspense. So, if the President doesn’t say much, how can you and other members of the media team do your job?

Fe Made: The media team understands the president. We observe his poise and calm, among other things, and we communicate our observations to the public. We even have some dedicated people on twitter: helping to explain all of the president’s motions.

Concerned Citizen: This is the Buhari Body Language, right?

Fe Made: That too! Body language, body language, body language! Damn. You have to make a mountain out of every molecular phrase. And you wonder why I’ve been praising the attractions of Ghana. Some of you Nigerians are so unbelievably stressful! I will recommend the words of William Shakespeare in Richard III: “Out of my sight! Thou dost infect mine eyes!” Damn. Life is too short, man. This is not what I signed up for!

Pope Francis appears to be on a mission to bend the rigid rules of the Catholic church, to the whims of modernization.

The pope announced new procedures on Tuesday to make it easier for Roman Catholics to obtain marriage annulments, The New York Times reports.

Under the new rules, the process will be much faster for cases in which a couple is not contesting the annulment as opposed to the previous process, which many Catholics view as too cumbersome, complicated and expensive.

Such cases had required two separate judgments from a diocesan tribunal.

Here’s how the new method works- The process, overseen by local bishops, will require only one judgment.

Moreover, the new rules require that the hearing process be held within 30 days of application, eliminating a longer waiting period.

The pope also instructed Catholic bishops to be more welcoming to divorced or separated Catholics “who have abandoned the church.”

Local dioceses will be asked to establish commissions to reach out to couples seeking annulments.

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, says he knows the location of the hidden assets of President Muhammau Buhari.

Fayose, who’s unimpressed with the public assets declaration of the President, described the move as as a ploy to get “the applause of the gullible”.

The governor also warned the All Progressives Congress not to provoke him to reveal the hidden assets of their members.

Fayose released a statement on Wednesday, through Lere Olayinka, his spokesman.

“We know where everybody, including President Buhari’s wealth are hidden, and the APC should not provoke the governor to such an extent that he will begin to reveal their hidden assets,” he said.‎

“Nigerians demanded that President Buhari must declare his assets publicly because that was what the President promised when he was seeking the people’s votes. “It was part of President Buhari’s electoral promises that his assets will be declared publicly and up till today, he has not done that.

We have only been told that the President, whom they said was poor to the extent that he had to take bank loan to buy his party’s nomination, is now the owner of a mini estate in Asokoro, Abuja that is worth over N3 billion.

“The APC should rather explain to Nigerians how a man they said had no houses anywhere apart from Daura and Kaduna suddenly became owner of houses and landed properties in Kano, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

“They should also tell Nigerians what happened when President Buhari headed Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) and why they lied to Nigerians that the president was poor, thereby obtaining Nigerians’ votes by trick.”‎
