Politics › Re: If Osun/Oyo Can't Succesfully Fund ONE University Y Do Ppl Then Expect d Church by Sibrah: 6:14am On Jan 15, 2017 |
Afam4eva: Who says church schools shouldn't charge? The issue is, how much do they charge when compared to other schools? Here in Nigeria, church schools are the most expensive, which doesn't make sense no matter how you look at it. I have checked the tuition of a lot of church schools in the US and their tuition is usually considering beside the fact that they give a lot of scholarships and financial aid. Do Nigerian uni Alumni donate like US? I think it is sign of mumu for anyone to pay tax forcefully and not be able to hold govt responsible but pay tithe voluntarily and expect to dictate to the church. . . Before anyone compares FG to private uni let him tell us how much the FG spends on every student a year. @topic, Nobody seem to be addressing the question the topic poses. |

fastjett: The contribution from Lagos state is from the Federal Govt. Investment in Lagos like the sea port not that is Lagos state own. So as far as am concern its the Niger Delta states that feeds other state. I agree '80%' with you. The income from ND is what fuels the activity in Lagos port. The ND is the primary contributor. Lagos is a secondary contributor down the impact chain. North and other farming state are retainers - they help retain the wealth of ND that has be explored by reducing amount we take outside to import food. The exporters of food i.e exporting farmer or exporting industrialist are the most impactful contributors in the sense that they earn forex without cornering anybody natural resources. |

fastjett: But they are not Lagos state investment, some of them are federal govt.investment in Lagos state like the sea port while others are private investment that generate the VAT you are talking about. What is natural or indigenous in Lagos state that produced wealth for the FG. As far as am concern its only the Niger Delta states that feeds other states plus FG investment in Lagos state. Lagos produces tax because it is more conducive to import through it. Try importing through Warri port and see what I mean. |

Seun: Every decent person shares the humble Bishop's feelings about Boko Haram, but asking people to spill the blood of "anyone that looks like them" (i.e. a northerner or muslim in the wrong place at the wrong time) is very wrong. Didn't Jesus say, "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"? How can you call yourself a Christian if you blatantly and proudly disobey the teachings of the very Christ you worship? How does "anyone that look like them" equate to Northerners in the wrong place at the wrong time? You need to tone your sentiment about this man and the church. |
