Osun state misplaced priorities Osun state now gets paltry sum from the nations treasury due to a heavy debt burden and now relies solely on the allocation giving to LG from the treasury to survive, yet Governor Aregbesola has created additional 30 LCDA and wants to build a 19 billion naira airport before he leaves government. In addition to misplaced priority is the “Opon-Imo” N8.6billion Project. The state is yet to develop for such an expensive project, the reason why students abused it. Today, where is the Opon-imo? https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/462719487217639424/EOBUcjd1_400x400.jpeg Instead of building more factories like the Garment factory and strive to generate more IGR we have a situation where the masses are being programmed to suffer beyond Aregbe tenure. This is happening because of availability of free oil money whereas the justification for releasing oil money to all regions, developement, is being largely ignored. |

2) We’ve paid some Fulani to stop killings in Southern Kaduna – El-Rufai Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai has said his government has traced some violent, aggrieved Fulani to their countries and paid them to stop the killings of Southern Kaduna natives and the destruction of their communities saying that the renewed violence is carried out by bandits. El-Rufai made this known while fielding questions from some select Journalists in his office in Kaduna. https://d19lga30codh7.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/El-Rufai1.jpg Source 1 Source 1 Here we see a governor paying killers openly. If Kaduna people pay tax heavily to fund their government I am sure they won't fold their arms and watch their governor pay killers |

I will be sampling some news to highlight why Nigeria needs to reconsider its current structure. 1) Jigawa Govt. to construct 90 mosques No fewer than 78 construction companies are competing for contracts for construction of 90 mosques in Jigawa.
Alhaji Muhammad Musa, Chairman, Tender Board Committee for the project, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Dutse.
Muhammad, also the Permanent Secretary, Administration and Finance, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, said that three mosques would be constructed in each of the 30 constituencies of the state.
He gave the assurance that due process would be followed in awarding the contracts, adding that the Technical Evaluation Committee for the bidding would be fair. https://www.jigawastate.gov.ng/assets/img/governor.jpg Source 1 Source 2 Going back in history, the justification for our federal structure that allows all states and region share free oil money was the disparity in educational and economic advancement between the north and the south, today we have BH rejecting education and the north openly channeling free oil money to promote religion. If the goals of our system will change then we might as well change the rules. |

This is a wrong move by the Katsina university. It must be noted however that this pattern of hijacking public properties has been there for long. The VC of Federal University are 95% likely to be from the state or region where the universities is sited. |

seguno2: .....as explained in Deuteronomy 14? Good point, but that doesn't mean the pastors only or even get their money from tithes. There is the prophet's seed. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Pastors Prefer Malachi To Deuteronomy When Preaching About Tithe? by Sibrah: 1:16pm On Jan 22, 2017 |
seguno2: Until Jesus Christ FULFILLED the law by His death and resurrection. Not so? Moreover, the tithe in Matthew was also of farm products i.e. never money just as exhaustively explained in Deuteronomy 14. Not so? Money can be exchanged for farm produce. This means you can pay tithe with either depending on which is best. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Pastors Prefer Malachi To Deuteronomy When Preaching About Tithe? by Sibrah: 1:12pm On Jan 22, 2017 |
CecyAdrian: Why? What Jesus was saying that verse is that they were not paying enough attention to those other things. That doesn't make tithe any less important than they were treating it. Re-read Mathew 23:23 again please. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Pastors Prefer Malachi To Deuteronomy When Preaching About Tithe? by Sibrah: 12:51pm On Jan 22, 2017 |
CecyAdrian: Lol, Jesus condemned the manner in which it was paid, because much emphasis was laid on it just like the present church is doing now, instead of other things, like this pastors laying emphasis on justice, mercy and faith.
When you read through that chapter, his annoyance towards it shows he was not a fan of it. I disagree . . . |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Pastors Prefer Malachi To Deuteronomy When Preaching About Tithe? by Sibrah: 12:47pm On Jan 22, 2017 |
CecyAdrian: In that verse Jesus even condemned the manner in which tithe was favoured instead justice, mercy and faith, He even likened it to one cleaning the outside of th dish while the inside is dirty. That verse you quoted ends with " These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone". It tells you tithe is a must because you are not suppose to leave the others(tithe inclusive) undone. |

ojlifa: to educate you i am not a Muslim, and it appears you know little of your religion.no religion has killed people more in this world like Christianity in fact during the time of slavery the white justified it with the bible ,second Christianity and Islam are one and the same from the same source which is Abraham ,who happens to be a jew. in my candid opinion Christianity has been what the Romans designed it to be instrument of control, which the white capitalized to put people like you in the condition you are right now You are the one in a mental cage here. For you to compare Christian uni built to for christians to promote christian values and compare it to public schools built for all citizens (Christians and muslims) shows you are intellectually handicapped. |

Statsocial: In a school funded by oil money from the South. Maybe we should divide this country sef. The 'mumuness' of the south is so obvious. The other day a governor in one of the muslim dominated northern state anounced how he was going to be building mosques with taxpayers money. If we are to do a little soul searching in this country, when the laws that gave access to oil money were being passed in the 60s/70s, they used disparity in poverty indices and education between the north and the south as a basis for the passage of the laws. Today they have the access to the money and are only interested in mosques. |

Statsocial: At the end of the day some so called Christian 'progressives' would join hands with Muslims to condemn the Church and think foolishly that they are doing a service to their nation... Anyways, whether they like it or not Jesus must be preached. There are many of them like that. They think 'forming' atheist makes them look intelligent and intimidating. I have said it times without number, the tax we pay to govt is non-negotiable unlike voluntary seeds we sow in the churches. |

You guys(muslims) are a major problem in this country and continent. You guys preach contentment but then start prying into other peoples' activity out of insecurity. Your strategy of using poor people as tools of intimidation against the south and christians will backfire soon. |

No matter how we look at it, some persons are deliberately inflating costs of products. See now:
Let's assume the previous cost of Melon was N100. With recession and market forces, the producers sell it at N120-150. The retailer, out of greed to make maximal profit, concoct stories of spoilt harvest and sells at N250. You see the drift? Is that normal? yes they are exergerating forex effect but not totally fraudulent. |

Let's forget about the price now now, what about those that sell substandard goods in the name of recession? I've bought items that are of far less quality for more in this period. Is that also because of foreign goods? Are u saying recession didn't affect the cost of transportation? The farmers use imported thing and as these thing increase in cost they are bound to transfer the cost to their own product. |

The fact that a man produces wholly local goods doesn't make him an island separated from foreign goods. A farmer who uses local fertilizer to cultivate local seed still needs imported fuel to transport his harvest and do other basic things. |
