ugo4u: Judging from the pics of the deceased soldiers, it's obvious they weren't kitted properly. Non of them is wearing a bullet proof vest or head gear. It's possible they were caught off guard or the strength of the aggressors was underestimated. I trust the military sha, those that did this evil have brought death upon themselves, they're gonna be hunted dowm like preys. the fact that they don’t even have standard kits on fear me... I now believe these kits are only made available for special forces...I won’t even lie I’m scared for my future now... what if my picture is posted here 5 years later as that sikowitz that was on that thread that year with my brain’s bashing out of my skull... No retreat at all but if I’m atleast going to die for my nation, my nation should provide me with a fighting chance.. |

Unselfishly, you left your fathers and your mothers, You left behind your sisters and your brothers. Leaving your beloved children and wives, You put on hold, your dreams-your lives. On foreign soil, you found yourself planted To fight for those whose freedom you granted. Without your sacrifice, their cause would be lost But you carried onward, no matter the cost.
Many horrors you had endured and seen. Many faces had haunted your dreams. You cheered as your enemies littered the ground; You cried as your brothers fell all around.
When it was over, you all came back home, Some were left with memories to face all alone; Some found themselves in the company of friends As their crosses cast shadows across the land.
Those who survived were forever scarred Emotionally, physically, permanently marred. Those who did not now sleep eternally 'Neath the ground they had given their lives to keep free.
With a hand upon my heart, I feel The pride and respect; my reverence is revealed In the tears that now stream down my upturned face As our flag waves above you, in her glory and grace. Freedom was the gift that you unselfishly gave Pain and death was the price that you ultimately paid. Every day, I give my utmost admiration To those who had fought to defend our nation. God bless the Nigerian Army.. |

But in this pic I see two star i explained earlier... army doesn’t have ceremonial for 2nd lieutenants, the one they have isn’t official... so when you are going for weddings and some events, as a 2nd lieutenant, you will wear the rank of Lieutenant |

Like, do dey have different uniform? Do dey wear "5" slashes on their chest like RC? same uniform but different parts of the academy and SSC wears yellow patches on their uniform Course 44 wore blank rank pads on their chest that only wrote “nda and the battalion” But course 45 wore yellow patch rank pads on their chest... |

Blueelf:

No lele
They may increase their intake this year or lower some of their requirements....who knows
With the way officers are dying (along with youth interests in the Army), this years screening would be very interesting itll be like course 45... pass medicals and they’ll take you irrespective of what the board scores you..people won’t turn up for screening.. |

ugo4u: I doubt if army will compromise on age issue, they may tell you to go and get an affidavit and make sure all your credentials correspond with the age but for them to overlook it somewhat Impossible except you are younger than required age they'll wave it off easily. This is to also protect the said candidate in the future because the age may come to hunt such a person in service. You may be retired prematurely if your age exceed the threshold alloted to a certain rank. What they can do if they so need the person is to push such a one to DSSC cos the age limit is higher. true true |

Blueelf: I also have another question for the experienced candidates in the house. I am asking on behalf of a friend
He is already 28 this year (July 1 ) and he had his BSc in 2011 and Msc in 2019, is he still eligible for SSC?
cc Ugo4u, odimbanmamdi, sikowitz, ltchisom, and many others
Thanks in anticipation ideally he has a more recent certificate to tender and there’s no way the army would reject a masters expect if some other issues dey.. that additional age can be overlooked.. a lot of things are overlooked during screening Plus he’s still be 28 by commencement of training in January 2021.. |

QuadrilAyinde: Hey Guys, Good Morning... HAPPY SUNDAY to us All
Abeg Nah 1 matter fly enter my head this Morning And I go Like make SENIOR MEN FOR THIS THREAD help put Mouth and Contribute...
INTELLIGENCE, SURVEILLANCE AND RECONNAISSANCE (ISR) AT THE FRONTLINE WITH THE USE OF ANIMALS
With Reference to the UAV/Drone matter wey we discuss the other day, me I bn dey think sey WHAT OF SWITCHING TO THE USE OF HOMING PIGEONS for Photographic Espionage of the BOKO-ISWAP Territories, Plans and Activities.....
ACCORDING TO HISTORY::
Homing pigeons were widely used by both American and British forces during World War II. In fact, the U.S. Army had an entire Pigeon Breeding and Training Center at Fort Monmouth, N.J., where the pigeons were trained to carry small capsules containing messages, maps, photographs and cameras. Military historians claim that more than 90 percent of all pigeon-carried messages sent by the U.S. Army during the war were received.
The birds even participated in the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944 because troops operated under radio silence. The pigeons sent information about German positions on Normandy beaches and reported back on the success of the mission. Bro the use of pigeons are obsolete ooo. We’d be the laughing stock of the entire free world if we begin to employ world war tactics like training birds to deliver messages when there are stealth drones and choppers to undergo covert missions in 2020.. if Nigeria wants to buy these things they’d buy it Or best invest in trained German shepherds to sniff out ieds...the us marines still uses dogs to sniff out locally made bombs in Iraq... watch this movie “Megan leavy” |
