chiwetaluAGU: Don't take sides unless you are a deep insider, as in, if only you are on ground floor zero of the inner happenings. Its now obvious Tinubu is intentionally being insulted. I may not like him but this is highly unnecessary and silly of the other camp I can take side based on the information at my disposal. The same information available to every other Nigerian. Openly asking for Oyegun to resign was a miscalculation. Not campaigning or supporting his party in Ondo was a wrong move. Asking Oke to join AD was anti-party activity. Instructing his loyalists (Aregbe, Ambode and Ajimobi) not to honor the president's invitation to attend the grand rally to campaign for Akeredola was a step too far. Those three couldn't have taken that decision on their own without his input. Tinubu may have a good ground to feel bad but cutting off the head is not the solution to a headache. Now that his influence has greatly been reduced, not only in APC but also in the SW, what more can he do to fight the enemies within in APC? |

Tinubu brought this on himself.
He's too overbearing and domineering, which if not put under control will cause him more loss of influence.
Can anyone imagine Tinubu romancing with Fayose just because you lost out in Ondo and a few other places!
Well, those the god wants to destroy, he first makes them mad. |

Politics › Re: Atiku Abubakar; Among The Best To Be Expected From Northern Nigeria. by SillyMods: 12:40pm On Nov 30, 2016 |
Whynotthetruth: It is getting to that period in Nigeria diary when politicians are out of their wits, trying to outdo themselves in convincing Nigerians to their side. Nigeria is a UNIQUE country in that EVERY decision is analyzed, weighed, accepted or rejected after going through three(3)distinct criteria; ... Religion ... Ethnicity ... Political Party These trio criteria has also ensured that Nigeria has never reached her potentials and won't attain such if she doesn't look at individuals beyond these myopic lens.
ATIKU Abubakar is by no means a saint but stands out among the Northerners to be considered for presidency given his not being contaminated or hindered by these myopic criteria in his dealings so far. Some other outstanding factors for which I feel ATIKU is among the best candidates from North include;
1) Exposure, Experience and Expertise: ATIKU has proved himself worthy of emulation in several, different and diverse sectors. He rose to echelon of service as a Custom's Officer. As an Entrepreneur, he has broken bounds and achieved uncommon success. And as Public servant, led successfully the privatisation exercise of government as anchored by BPE, alongside other assignments as Nigeria Vice President between 1999-2007.
2) Extremism & Extremists Views: ATIKU seems liberal in his views and his continued support for decentralization of government which most northeners don't support make him to stand out as a man with a mind of his own. Who also considers the views of his neighbor's in taking decision and not necessarily selfish decisions always. Fanatics and extremists have done Nigeria more harm than good.
3) Leadership Quality; A journey through his successful career will put flower to this point. He has succeeded both in personal, public, and organizational leadership positions.
4) CORRUPTION TAG; It is a fact that this tag came to life when he challenged the unwholesome appetite for power by his then boss; Obj .Nuhu Ribadu who led the onslaught against ATIKU then has not denied begging ATIKU for forgiveness for wrongful accusation. US government has declared through some recent publication of having no case file against him as against public perception. With no court conviction against him with regard to corruption and looting of Treasury, we can assume him innocent in that regards.
5) ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT; Any avid follower of APC primary election in 2015 will agree with me that ATIKU Abubakar was the ONLY APC presidential candidate with VERITABLE, VERIFIABLE, & VIABLE economic blueprint . He has always being ready for the job with his simple, concise and implementable blueprints.
There could be other good products from the North yet to declare open their interest but in all, ATIKU is a FAR UPGRADE on a country that could tolerate a Buhari presidency.
Thanks and God bless us all... Tell us more about his corruption tendency? Atiku is like the proverbial pig that cannot get completely clean because the more you do that the more determined he is to soil his body in mud. Stop this nonsense already. |

I've said it times without number that something must be done with our constitution to make it extremely difficult for politicians to change party like changing their underwear.
Those who may want to blame PMB/APC should ask themselves the question: "in what way can PMB or APC prevent this cross-carpeting?"
Democracy is not good for Africa. |
Politics › Re: I Approved DSS Raids & Arrest Of Judges - AGF, Malami Abubakar Says by SillyMods: 6:00am On Nov 30, 2016 |
We asked the judges, the lawyers and defenders of corrupt judges to clearly state the part of our Constitution that was breached in the DSS raid. Till date, NO ONE has been able to give an answer.
When looters steal our common wealth, they don't think of the rule of law they break in committing the crime.
They use a fraction of their loots to compromise the judges who are suppose to punish them for their crime, neither the bribed judges nor the looters consider the laws they're breaking.
And when we're lucky to have a president who is ready to bring looters to justice through any means necessary, they and their shameless supporters start to talk of one useless rule of law.
If there are no other reasons apart from the fight against corruption and insurgency to campaign for Buhari in 2019 , those two are enough for me to do so. |

Dem get choice? No be all of us for suffer am? By the way, why was the amount jacked up from N180bn to N212bn? Oh, I found the reason - To justify the rationale behind approving far above the requested sum, Senator Goje said, “the affected MDAs justified the need for intervention in their respective Agencies and some also made the point that the amount proposed in the request was inadequate to meet the observed shortfall required to carry out their mandate and financial obligations”. Anyway, let's hope they will use the money for the intended purpose. |

[s] kinibigdeal: INEC is a subdivision of APC, we dont have INEC. Is just like APC contesting election and also conducting election [/s] Many of you will just rush to comment without reading the news. This report is specifically talking about INEC not paying attention to issues affecting the small parties outside the APC, PDP and AD in the last election. The report cited issue of inducing voters with cash - all major parties are guilty of this. It also talks about using an old logo of YDP on the ballot paper instead of the new one. In all, no major issues raised which could have made the outcome of the election different from what it was. Deal with your loss and move on. The Ondo election remains the most transparent, credible, free and fair since Prof. Mahmood took over. Mimiko and Oke have even congratulated the winner who beat PDP's candidate in his own local government. |

Turakidanjuma: In the aftermath of the Ondo guber elections fears are being raised over the possible outcome of 2019 presidential elections. The manner and pattern of disenfranchisement of the PDP candidate is stunning and bewildering. The current administration is at its wits end in exploiting legal, political and electoral means in stopping the opposition.
The action of Okon Abang and their INEC collaborators in weeding out the candidate of the PDP should worry all well-meaning Nigerians. We look in consternation and fear of possible re-occurence in 2019. The economic implications are dire and fearful.
Should the outcome of the Ondo elections are to reflect the 2019 elections, then Nigerians should not hold their breath as the light at the end of the tunnel no longer exists. The recession that Nigerians are currently undergoing would last a lot longer than planned as this administration does not have a blue-print to salvage the economy. Take a look around you, everything that the PDP built in 16 years is being destroyed in less than 2 years.
Should the outcome of Ondo elections become a pointer to 2019, then expect the Niger Delta to continue the bombings and for the southern parts of Nigeria to continue to be left out in the scheme of things. Take a look around, everything the PDP built in 16 years is crumbling from the economy to free and fair elections. From Niger Delta militancy resurgence to clamours for seccession.
Should the outcome of the Ondo elections be taken as the nexus for 2019, then we are in for a long ride of more taxes. From the N50 being paid for deposits above 1,000 to the data charges increase that is to commence January 2017 and of course the three minutes call tax that will soon be implemented. Nigerians should expect more suffering and smiling or begin a revolution to put an end to suffering meted to all and sundry. As it stands 2019 would be a continuation of the 8 years of famine.
Lastly, should the outcome of the Ondo elections be taken as the pointer to 2019. Then more Agatu massacre, more churches will be vandalized and burnt like the ones in Niger state and Kaduna and Borno. Expect more attacks by the mobile Boko Haram [herdsmen] and the Shia. Expect more attacks on Christians in the North.
Should Ondo 2016 become 2019...................Then I weep for my country.
Danjuma Abdullah is a Christian from Biu in southern Borno.

Cry cry babies! They blame Okon Abang. He was exonerated of any wrongdoing by NJC when allegations against him were investigated.
