imperiouxx: It's good you've learned. I don't mock you but using this to pass an important message across to others out there. Even having secured an admission before getting to know this thread, one can still prevent this kind of situation 4 days to interview.

I deferred admission and cancelled going to the embassy just because of mistakes on my I-20. Nobody told me to do so on the thread but my instinct instructed me and here I am today, getting my MS degree next Saturday That's one task accomplished out of many others. It's not how far but how well.

You were here on Sept 29 from your record and I know you went through some pages in this thread stating that no one should go with a CC admission but you still went ahead with it. If you have torn the I-20 and wait to get a better school on that Sept 29 when you were looking for date, who knows what kind of chorus you too will be singing now.

If you go with a CC, VIU, devry, phoenix or everest (all stressed)..... denial rate is 98.7%. Some believe that they could be part of the remaining 1.3%.

I believe in effort rather than chance.... This is a lesson to others hiding their CC admissions out there.

My Advice:
1.wen dey ask u a question nd u goof(like i goofed) don't shake, dnt blink, still look them straight in d eye nd either agree wit them or jst give ds oh! am sorry look
2. Pray, pray nd pray again. Pray for favour, dats all u need cos favor is unmerited grace even wen u goof favor wil wipe it clean, favor wil mak ur number apear in d window of d right VO
3. There is no such thg as over preparation keep reading researching nd research some more, though dey didn't ask me for anythg i don't regret d sleepless nights, d surfing my school website 1mill tymes nd d sleeping on ds nairaland page, beta 2carry a hammer 2kill a mosquito dan 2get der nd discover u took a toothpick 2kill a tiger
4. For the ladies don't carry makup, powder perfumes, combs, hair pins, hand wash, lotion, creame, biro in ur bag 2d embassy des items r not allowed a lotta ladies had 2dump dier expensive mary kay kits in d trash can, one lady emptied her whole bag inside dustbin, i had 2bribe d mopol guys 1k 2help me custody my comb,powder,perfume nd slippers(i took slipperrs o! Mak high heel no break my leg for nothing), and once u leave d line 2drop des stuff frm ur bag wen u come bak u go 2d very end of d queue nd start again(dats d rule). Biros, batteries, torch light, camera nd Calculators r not allowed as well

Ricky Rozay: Sure, there are some things you need to do before your i-20 arrives, If ONLY you have your Sevis Number and School code with you.

You will need your Sevis Number and School Code to Fill your DS 160 form and to enable you book appointment. You will also need the sevis number and your school code to pay for your Sevis fee.

If you DON'T have a copy with you, Email your School and ask them to send you a scanned copy of your i-20, so you can use it to book appointment.

OR if they refuse to send you a scanned copy of your i-20, you can also tell em to email your Sevis Number and the school code to you.

Things you Need to Do before your i-20 arrives;

1. Pay your Visa fee @ GTBank for #26,400

2. Fill your DS 160 form as accurately as possible and Fill in your Sevis Number and School Code correctly where Required.

3. Go to the appointment window and Book appointment with the Application ID generated from the DS 160 form.

4. Pay your Sevis fee of $200.

The Above mentioned are the things you need to do while waiting for your i-20, by doing this things, you have automatically speed up the whole process.

kunlebal: Pally relax your mind, you will receive in 4-5wks, thank God you have not book your appointment. Is better to use courier for I-20 because the documents is very important. Nipost is no go area in you are in hurry.

Ricky Rozay: I keep telling you guys times without Number to always use a Courier service like FedEx, DHL, UPS Or TNT to receive a vital document such as your i-20 package from the US..

Nipost is NOT Reliable for receiving packages from the US. Many packages get Lost on transit by this means. Just hope and pray your case is different.

But Since you have used Nipost already, you have to wait for a Minimum of ATLEAST 5 weeks before it gets here..

And also let me give you this clue, Make sure you keep checking the nearest NIPOST Close to your home and let em Know you are Expecting a Package from the US.

If possible, Collect the Contact no of one of the Post Office Officials and keep calling them on Phone to make enquiry on your pacakage, to know if it has Arrived.

Don't just stay @ home and cross your two legs and wait for your package. You need to make a move as well, So your package shouldn't be Abandoned @ the Post Office. They might likely NOT deliver your package to your home address early.

And make sure you also tip the Post Office Official for this service so that the help can be rendered to you as efficient as posssible.

bigfrancis21: Just last week and you're already complaining. . It took 3 weeks to deliver a package from my school(US) to nearby Canada. Not to talk of US to Nigeria.

Relax your nerves, ok. Expect your mail in about a month's time.

kunlebal: You are in for long thing(wait), when was it sent I mean the date. Receiving documents from abroad with Nipost is a very big issue, btw 3-6wks you will receive it sha. Keep praying bro, that's what I can tell you.
