Your best bet will be to go for the degree in Mass Communications. Just like Law, there are different array of opportunities in Mass Comm. Moreover you have deep interest in the field. Try linking up with your colleagues at the Nigerian Police Broadcasting Service and see what you can gather from there.

Oga, bride price does not make a woman your property. A bride price just signifies to the bride's family that you are fulfilling a cultural practice.

According to Nigerian history, bride price was in the form of farming and providing farm produce. It's just the advent of modernization that makes some families opt for money instead of the produce.

Family / Re: My Sister Is Crying Inconsolably After Giving Birth. Please Help! by sirfarouk(m): 10:37am On Dec 16, 2018
DrFlora:
There's this my sister that has two female children

She took in for her third child but refused to go for scan. Few days to her delivery time, she finally accepted to do the scan.

The result of the scan showed that she is carrying a girl. This is where the problem started. She started crying, calling everybody and weeping heavily.

When she first called my other sister, she thought maybe, she has lost the baby.

It was when I listened closely to the crying voice of my sister that I understood what actually happened. I had to call my other sister to tell her the true reason my sister is crying.

Fast forward to few weeks later, my sister became due for delivery but she refused to go to hospital.

The pregnancy water came out of her body but she still stayed at home, the blood which is the last stage before the baby comes out also came out of her body while she was still at home.

It is not until the baby stopped making movement that she had to visit the hospital.

When she got there, the baby was already weak and the doctor said that any further delay could have seen the baby dead in the womb.

My sister wanted to rush home immediately after giving birth. It was the doctor that forced her to stay for an additional day to ascertain the condition of her health and that of the baby.

She went home the next day without telling anybody that she has given birth. Not until the husband came home (he wasn't around the day she delivered).

Three days after, the husband started calling all of us (her siblings) to please call my sister and ask her what the problem is.

You will not believe that my sister is still crying inconsolably.

As I type this, I am feeling hurt and pity for the poor innocent child that came out to this world to meet a mother that spites her simply because she is a girl.

My sister as I type, has refused to pick our calls. I didn't know people will still think and behave this way in 2018.

Please, is it normal for a mother of a newborn baby to be crying profusely, simply because she has given birth to three girls?

Our fear is that she might hurt that baby as she has demonstrated during the late pregnancy stage when she was due to deliver.

Please, any suggestions on how to make her come back to her senses and know that children are from God?

Please, I need your contributions

I am afraid to ask what the "Dr" in your moniker stands for.

Well first, she needs to see a psychologist or a church counselor at least - postpartum depression will hit her hard. Then when she's ready to conceive again, (which is likely not anytime soon) tell her about baby selection method during ovulation days. Besides, it's not her fault that the husband keeps giving her X chromosome.

Romance / Re: How Do You Handle An Irresponsible Girl Like This One by sirfarouk(m): 5:44pm On Dec 14, 2018
samuelchimmy:
So about 6 months ago, I got hooked up with a girl, she's being kind of throwing green lights to me... So I made a pass at her.... Well she refused saying we could only be friends, i gave up after all my arsenal got empty....

Well fast forward to 2months now, this babe has been demanding all sort of stuffs, from recharge cards to transport fares, even feeding, this evening, I got pissed off (though she has no idea of it)

She asked what I ate, and I replied, indomie, she then suggested that I buy cartons of indomies for her when she will be resuming, in January.....
And that I should send her transport fare to come back from school. She's beautiful,

I'm above this help, but I feel like am been a mugu for her....
.
We are good friends, apart from this, shes a nice girl.... But I think she's tryna use me.... I wouldn't think this way though if I haven't had a Convo with her when she jokingly told me she's all about a guy's money, I saw her with.....

Relationship gurus in the house how can I handle this issue....

When next she calls, miss the first call and delay picking the 2nd call. Sometimes don't pick at all. When you "decide" to call back (you don't have to call back), tell her you were busy. The idea is to form busy. With time she will get the message.

Wait, did you send the money for the indomie?

Do you want to take up the issue because your conscience asked you to (without a chance for a relationship with her) or you are doing it because you want to split them up so that you can be in the picture?

Whatever your answer is just be sure that he will come after you, especially if she tells him your intention out of fear. Also if you can get in touch with her family so they can intervene and report him to his superiors.

shakmati:
So I'm really pained. I am a highly mobile kind of businessman but I have my family stationed somewhere in the North West. I send my silly wife a six figure monthly upkeep to ensure she takes care of the home properly. I got home a few days ago. Today, she went out and I decided to go prepare some boiled rice and beans for the house. Can you believe that this woman does not have ordinary salt and vegetable oil in her kitchen? Women can be so unreliable and incompetent I tell you. This is all the work she does and she can't get simple salt in her kitchen. Should I just divorce her? I hate incompetence. I need advice from y'all. Stupid or not. I don't give a frigging rat's arse!

- annoyed guy.

From the day you came back (most likely even before you came back) till now she's been cooking with salt. You didn't tell her you will be cooking for the house, what if she plans to get salt on her way back from her outing? I mean she does the shopping, she definitely knows the salt has finished.

Stop throwing tantrum, eat some noodles and wait her return. You are too old for all this unnecessary vexation.

As a family, living off on salary is not really easy - especially with the unexpected expense that keeps pouring in.

So what kind of business/investment do you engage in to support your family aside from your salary?

Tomorrow is another market day, the farmers have started bringing their yam today monday and some of them often sell to the middle men I.e dillalai as they call them here at cheap prices. therefore, any buyer that is buying on Tuesday tomorrow may be buying from the dillalai not the original farmers.

note that: the price am going to be updating is the price at which the farmers sells to the dillalai who in turn sell to gain profit.

I will update the price (per 100 pieces and size) tomorrow.

Will the farmers be there tomorrow or just the middlemen?
Family / Re: How Does God Show Or Did God Show You A Sign On Who To Marry? by sirfarouk(m): 8:12pm On Nov 19, 2018
Cosmass:
My boyfriend of one year and I have had our ups and downs in our relationship most especially his parents went from liking and wanting to have a formal dinner with me to disliking me.

Initially they felt I was trying to change their son into a different religion(from Anglican to Catholic) and also maybe I was not a good person because I was not always showing up at their place to see them which is not true.

They agreed and told him to take things slowly with me. The problem here is we had a major argument and he now told me he is waiting for God's sign before getting back with me.

I told him to make things easier, let us just break up, he said time and space and waiting for God's sign.

Please people how does God or did God show you a sign on marrying someone or getting back?

If gut feeling can be described as God talking to us then I guess that's it - gut feeling. If you love the person then that's bonus.
