Family › Re: How To Save Your Marriage by Sissy3(f): 2:23am On Jun 07, 2009
Avoid reporting your partner to anyone, even your closest friend.
I'm kind of wary about this particular point. it would have made more sense to me if you'd actually clarify the certain kinds of behavior that shouldn't be reported to a friend. i say this cause of many cases of domestic violence. and many of this victims (mostly women) often avoid telling their loved ones or close friends what goes on behind close doors in their marriage and more often than none they end up paying the price with their lives because of something that could have been easily prevented if a loved one or close friend knew about it.
Family › Re: Is There Hope For Increased Adoption Consideration In Nigeria? by Sissy3(f): 2:16am On Jun 07, 2009
Ice Angel:
this question is in 2 parts:
A. As a couple expiriencing delayed conception; would you consider adoption whilst waiting to concieve or would you rather not think about at all as an option?
yes i would. if i later conceive i would still love my adopted child as my biological one.

B. As a couple with kids of your own but with enough love and stability to give to yet another child; would you consider adoption or is it just not an African thing to adopt?
yes i would. and i don't really care whether it is an African adaptation or not. i still would. i believe every children needs love and I'm willing to love them 'cause i love children to bits.

adoption is a always a good thing and it doesn't really matter whether you have your own biological child or not. if you can adopt and help a child in need of love and a home.
Family › Re: Three Most Important Things To Know About Your Spouse Before Marriage by Sissy3(f): 2:06am On Jun 07, 2009
sorry but i dnt think this the 3 most important thing you must know before marriage.

your reason #2 is not absolute. you shouldn't base it entirely on her past abortions. the only thing they can do is for both of them to go for a Fertility test to mark out any unforeseen problem. 'cause remember the man can also have Fertility problems.

Romance › Re: Literate Or Illiterate Women, Which One Obey And Respect Their Husband Better? by Sissy3(f): 2:00am On Jun 06, 2009
i see no correlation between being literate/illiterate and respect. there are totally two different things.

an illiterate woman can still be disrespect towards her husband and vice versa with the literate woman.

Family › Re: Why Do Poor People Have So Many Kids by Sissy3(f): 1:43am On Jun 06, 2009
i honestly use to think the same thing. why have more children than you can adequately provide for?

it's until now that i have come to actually try to maybe understand the reasoning behind their decision of having "large families"

i have come to realize that high growth rate in poor undeveloped countries is not the result of "ignorance" as we often use to think.

To poor families, large families are wanted, since children are seen as an economic asset and not a liability.  in most parts of the world children

serve as a major economic support in their parent's old age because rural villagers lack the necessary pension plans that would support them in the

old age. As it is in Nigeria. Nigeria government don't that have any pensions for the elderly as it is with the for example American Social Security

benefits or other similar benefits developed countries provide their retired and elderly citizens. So to these parents their children is their hope in

their old age.

Also many parents have more children because of the high rates of infant mortality in developing countries.

Nigeria being a good example of this. so this makes the parents want to have extra children in case of a possible death of one their offspring.

the low cost of raising children in still developing is relatively lower than in industrialized nations due to the fact that many necessities are produced

by the family instead of purchasing it. and the help of extended families in raising children in this countries make it a lot easier on the individuals

parents.and lastly we have to realize that some of these people are still "prisoners of their core traditional values" and they are slower to change

and slower keeping up with the changing events in the world today.

so i think it is their economic and other states in life that pushed into making those decisions. and i guess they make reproductive decisions just as

we do.

I know I know, but what can we do?
It's like not taking the child back to preschool just because he's scared of the other kids.

[s]And you want more daddy and mommy time, right? tongue[/s]
I know, like you said the only path to it is by setting the boundaries. and letting them understand that mom and dad sometimes needs together time alone embarassed embarassed .
however,  i know that some parents go out of their way to even have a bed for the kids in their own room, dont think i can go that far oo lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

mohawkchic:
~I let him crawl in as often as he wants . . .am of the school of thought i wont  have him at that age twice. . . . cheesy besides they grow up so fast these days i'll be lucky to have him want to cuddle in the next couple of years!

~He loves his own room, its decorated just the way he likes it,so him coming over to ours has nothing to do w/ mosters/or something about our room he likes better than his . . that boy just loves cuddles! He doesnt mind whose room he's in as long as there a body to cuddle up to!Sometimes when i tuck him in on his own bed,i'll have to wait till he dozes off before climbing out. . .as soon as he feels me twitching he wakes up/cuddle closer angry His big ole Care Bear has lot its appeal years ago!

~The advice given by FL Gators is bang on tho . . .persitent in taking the child back to their room works,if you have to do it 10x so be it. . also Encourage & Involve the child to make their room exciting enuff for them to want to sleep in there ie the child helps you re-decorate their room w/ posters/fav character curtains/beddings etc
lol @ waiting till he dozes off. grin grin grin grin i can imagine cheesy cheesy cheesy.

yea, i think that encouraging her to like her rooms is a good idea. at least it will keep the big monster at bay embarassed embarassed

Family › Re: Parental Guide: Bringing Up A Child by Sissy3(f): 11:11pm On Jun 04, 2009
Question:

How often would you allow your child to be sleeping with you in your room? for a example, he/she barges into the room in the night, singing "mommy i'm scared" you allow him/her a pass for that day. and he/she constantly does this. would you set a limit or just be there unconditionally for him/her?
knowing that one day he/she might barge in while you and partner are hots for each other.
