Tgirl4real:
Let me just drop this question that has been on my mind.

How do you help or avoid other children from infleuncing your child's spoken English? It is tiring when you have to correct and correct and the child is still picking up incorrect English from other sources.
peer pressure is a very powerful force and it is very hard to resist especially when it comes to children/teenagers. so i do understand what you mean, cause even though you teach him/her the right words to say, his/her friends will make him/her believe otherwise. however, you just have to continue with the reinforcement of the proper english usage. he/she will eventually go along, especially when you constantly correct him/her, it might be frustrating at first but it will pay off. make sure he/she uses the correct words when they are at home if possible use a reward/punishment program. i believe with constant reinforcement he will eventually come along. i would also maybe suggest getting him/her children book to read more often so as to help him/her understand the language better and if possible read it with him/her.

see dem mouths.  cheesy if its the other way now,u guys go dey preach forgiveness.
exactly! .

@post

i take cheating very seriously, and for me to forgive, i must have a good believable reason to insure that such incident wouldn't repeat itself again. though for me the trust in the relationship would be weaken by this.

and like Ify said, this is no course to involve the pastor or call a family meeting. it is between me and my spouse.
Family › Re: How To Save Your Marriage by Sissy3(f): 7:03pm On Jun 07, 2009
yes, i do agree that not everything little argument or mess that goes on in a marriage requires the involvement of a third party. some marital misunderstandings are better solved between the couples, unless it is something beyond their control. however, any sign of domestic violence requires the urgent intercession of a third party regardless.

Pataki:
It depends on your mindset. The only way time would heal emotional wounds is when you divert your attention to something else other than that emotional hurt. If such step is taken, definitely, time would heal the hurt.
yep, agreed.

Health › Re: I Prefer To Have Aids by Sissy3(mod): 3:30am On Jun 07, 2009
it's always funny when ppl wish they had Aids than other health problems, but until they are in that situation, living everyday with it, they may never know what it feels like or how "easy" it is living with it as they actually think/believe
Family › Re: There I A Time And A Place For Everything (a Rude/racist Nigerian Mother) by Sissy3(f): 3:02am On Jun 07, 2009
When we got outside, I told my frined that his mother is a bitch.
this was rude in my opinion to tell someone's mother in his presence. describing her in such tone IMHO is disrespectful especially in the presence of his son.

sadly, many people are still been colonized by the thoughts of racism. at least she was honest with her harsh views. just got to accept it and move on, on a happy note though, not everyone person either black or white shares her view. so don't let this deter you from being friends or in a relationship with other ethnicity. there are still many good minded and very open folks out there
Family › Re: Three Most Important Things To Know About Your Spouse Before Marriage by Sissy3(f): 2:29am On Jun 07, 2009
tpiah:
how do you find out the number of wounds in somebody's womb? huh

Or do you mean the number of abortions. And how will you discover anything if she doesnt tell you? huh
that's exactly one of the problems with this his "theory" unless there is a test that can show the number of abortions she has had in the past, this theory it has no stand. that's why it is important for BOTH of the couples to go for a fertility test to check everything out 'cause more often, it is actually the man who has the problem with conceiving. but i guess as Africans we always tend to mask the problem on the woman.
