PoliticsRe: Lagos APC: What Desmond Elliot Should Learn From Hakeem Masha’s Political Fate by SixSeven:
nairavsdollars:
What correction are you making? You yourself said Ambode gave a live broadcast after the primary? What did he say in the live broadcast? Did he go to court or defect to another party?answer!
What was the result for Elliot? Ambode was defeated after the primaries and he gave a broadcast.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a01SWn2rvU8&
At this rate, Buhari is actually a real democrat because he never interfered with the process. He told all candidates to go slug it out.

Dr. Dakuku Peterside has strongly condemned the current practice of "consensus candidacy" in Nigerian political party primaries, labeling it as "elite capture dressed in democratic clothing" and a "civilian coup" against democracy. Speaking in his weekly column and during a media appearance on ARISE News Prime Time, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain warned that what parties market as "unity" is actually the forced imposition of candidates by an influential elite circle, governors, and godfathers.

PoliticsRe: Lagos APC: What Desmond Elliot Should Learn From Hakeem Masha’s Political Fate by SixSeven:
You see what happens when you let some select people choose and install people on your behalf? They WILL NEVER represent you. That's what this Desmond Elliot story shows us once again. The Barakat lady replacing him too will only work as a stooge.

This is what happens when parents do everything for their children, they never learn how to withstand the world challenges or fight for things, their parents did everything for them. They don't know their worth.

After Bucknor and Pedro showed Tinubu shege, they started going for female deputy governors. The ones who will not fight them. This is not to put the women down but we all know how it went with those deputies who were female. That's what is going on in Lagos. You will never get your true representative because these people did not fight for the seats. Even if they tried to fight, the party they came in through only annointed them for guaranteed victory at the polls. Until you have someone who did all the work, earned it in the primary and elections, you will only have representatives of babasopecracy consensus. Fake democracy.

"There is nothing democratic in what is referred to as consensus"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1Ztoev8VNs&

Let me correct the writer who said
Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is today a member of the influential Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in Lagos APC, largely because he accepted defeat gracefully after losing the governorship primary to the party’s preferred candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Rather than defect or head to court, Ambode congratulated Sanwo-Olu and pledged loyalty to the party. Desmond Elliot should take a cue from that example.

Big fat lie. Ambode that called Sanwoolu mad and did worse than Elliot. Abeg talk another thing. They have arranged themsleves. Even Pedro is now an Ambassador but you see that WOMAN, Bucknor. She no gree for Bola. Again, know your worth and what you are fighting for.

Ambode gave a live broadcast after the defeat but don't forget that he didn't attend the handover ceremony, instead, he handed one day before May 29 at a private event. Also Ambode lost through the primaries, at least they allowed that to happen. Did you hear what Desmond said? "Even if I will lose, let me lose gallantly". He complained about intimidation of delegates so there is a difference in losing through indirect babasopecracy and direct vote. At least they pretended to vote for Ambode's own. The truth is that some people are at the background rigging the system. They don't want true votes. If it was consensus of the delegates, it is different but here there is compulsion, intimidation and threats to select one candidate. What a shame.

If he can be tricked at this age of his political career, then he has no business in politics
I agree. But I am not surprised because he did not fight for the seat, he got it on a platter of gold. This is what happens when parents do everything for their children, they never learn how to withstand the world challenges or fight for things, their parents did everything for them. They don't know their worth.

PoliticsRe: Fubara Tricked, Manipulated Into Joining APC For Second Term – Prof Simon Nnah by SixSeven:
Let's scratch the surface and find that even Fubara is not the People's will. He is an imposed choice. If we start from there, we will start to see the world differently. When you impose someone on your people, you will run into more trouble. It's the Rivers people that have lost here.

Nyesom Wike purchased and paid for the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expression of interest and nomination forms that installed Siminalayi Fubara as the Governor of Rivers State👇

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Aga2dmra0E&t=153s

This is why he is a good man on babasopecracy's cabinet. They don't believe in people's choice, they believe a select few should choose who is next then they conduct a sham called election to make you think you are a party to the process.

Because you are assuming the man cannot control his woman (as though women are to be controlled anyway) without knowing what the man likes. What if he likes precisely the things you condemn?
I put a condition or clause before my conclusion. It's not about likes in this case. You are free to like whatever you want to. After all, one man's meat is another's poison.

About controlling his woman, political philosophers make us understand that the sources of power, authority, influence and control. You can control a woman by force or fear but your influence is zero once she is out of sight. That's weakness and insecurity.

HealthRe: Differences And Similarities Between Ebola And Hantavirus Virus by SixSeven:

The difference is that the conspiracy theorists fear Ebola more than Hanta. That's it. No further explanation needed but generally, the virus scare is becoming a joke I'm sorry to say because of the way our authorities have handled it, all over the world. The WHO had to release a statement to remind us that Ebola has no cure or vaccine. Pharma needs to make another money and Trump left the WHO chat. This is his first test to give them middle finger. Too much compromise and dishonesty in the world today.
The pharmaceutical drug dealers are pushing the Ebola virus because you didn’t fall for the Hantavirus.

When they saw that you guys were joking with Hantavirus and the fear mongering was not effective enough, they remembered Ebola. Unfortunately na Africans go suffer am once again. Watch out for discrimination against us. Yesterday, they diverted a flight because of a passenger they suspected to have Ebola. Despite the fact that we handled Ebola professionally in 2014, they refuse to highlight that but like the agenda of gloom and doom from Africa as news to the world.

PoliticsRe: Judgment On INEC Timetable Will Push Many Out Of APC, Says ADC by SixSeven: 6:37am On May 22
We have so much distrust in the system now that some people even think the judgment was a trap for NDC. I don't know what to believe anymore. I have read comments that say things like after they failed to trap Obi in NDC, they now allow free movement. That NDC should be careful who they allow into their party. One thing is clear, and I hope it is sorted after this elections, there is no party discipline and parties should now be very hard on their members. Do you know it's the indiscipline of our governors that made it a situation where you have to be a former governor to become president? They gave Obasanjo the condition in 2006 which is why we had Yar'Adua and Jonathan, two governors at the time. Now they are taking over Senate.

BusinessRe: Decision: Send My Brother To Canada Or Invest In Business In Nigeria? by SixSeven: 9:20pm On May 21
nedekid:
We are talking of serious issues you are bringing up 50cents and his useless son.
Oga we all owe people just as they owe us, it could be as simple as gratitude.
I know of a man that gave up his village scholarship slot for his cousin, after that the scholarship programs was stopped. That guy went on to be a successful lawyer, sanator and millionaire. I knew one time the guy took his cousin around some ministries trying to empower him. I remember my late father buying a brand new suv and driving it to his friend's house and handing over the keys expressing gratitude that when they were teens it was that man that introduced him to the British gentleman through which he stated life and ended up very successful.
So my sibling becomes wealthy tomorrow and you say asking him go give me some business or even money makes me entitled? Or my brother lives in Eg Canada, I call him to take my child and put him in school over there if he can afford to, you then say it is entitlement? Hang on, this op uses his hard earned 15m to send his sibling abroad, few years down the line he then faces hard times here in naija, he calls his brother for help, the brother he sent to Canada then calls him entitled saying he owes no one?
The same thing is currently happening to men who will use all their resources to train kids, he will starve and deprive himself to educate his kids, then at the end of the day the child says his father is entitled when he is old and cannot earn an income. Anyway that is why lots of men have said they will never put themselves in a position that will require kids to support them in their old age, before they say they owe their parents nothing.
There are people I will call and they will answer me so too there are those who will call me and that call must be answered and within my best capacity go our of my way to solve their issues.
How can siblings be talking if entitlements, people from the same womb? Omo, they were no brought up well.
Eg Canada, I call him to take my child and put him in school over there if he can afford to, you then say it is entitlement?

entitled
/ɪnˈtʌɪtld/
adjective
believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
"kids who feel so entitled and think the world will revolve around them"
You are proving my point. You are on Nairaland and you see the issues people bring here.
He sponsored his sister to school, she cannot take care of his son.
He sponsored the girl's education and she dumped him for another man.
You can get all emotional about this but I am telling you reality that will help you not get disappointed.

You think the world today is the one you grew up in? No. There is community support and your network of people but expectation creates disappointment. If the people you call have their problems and they cannot help you, will you put your destiny on hold?

So my sibling becomes wealthy tomorrow and you say asking him go give me some business or even money makes me entitled?
Nedekid, yes. I know it doesn't make sense to you but yes. The easiest way to live life and be happy is not to expect anything from anyone. That will help you recognize who the real giver and helper is. Many of us put our reliance on people expecting them to do good back the way we did good to them. And for the 50 Cent, I don't know. Maybe I don't need to post anything anymore because I realise that people don't take the lessons they need to take, they get distracted by the lesson teacher. I tried to show you the moon but you only saw my fingers.

Oga life does not work that way, no one is an island, only an ingrate will say they owe no one.
You owe no one. There's nothing like ingrate. You came to life differently. It's entitlement that makes people think someone else has to do something for them. No one owes you anything, the earlier you learn that and know that, the easier for you to not be disappointed in this life. In fact, it will make you appreciate what you take for granted because an ingrate is not usually grateful for what they get for free.

No emotional answers.

Be selfish. Get returns from your business and if there's surplus, invest it in anyone else.

Emotional response.

You are IyaTola and that means a lot. You don't owe anyone anything but this is Africa. We look after each other. Send him to Canada and put it in writing to avoid stories that touch on why you are doing it and don't expect anything from him. I don't want you to see your brother as a business decision because now you have two options. You can start regretting tomorrow that the money you wanted to use for business, you gave it to your brother, then you start to call him ungrateful and put pressure on him in Canada, a new land that takes time but in the long run, he will not disturb you for life again because you have set him free. Read what I wrote here on giving this morning 👇

SixSeven:
What you are sharing sounds like you're getting exhausted with the help you are giving because it keeps returning. One of the things you learn as you grow is not to be bothered by people's reaction but be bothered by your own intention.

This will change the way you do things. You ask yourself why you do what you do. Why? Are you doing it for them or you are doing it for your purpose on earth? It's with that understanding that you will never bother about human beings and their reactions. You won't be distracted by their distraction too. Many people put too much reliance on gratefulness (which is a good thing to have) but sometimes I ask myself, ifManbeGod, do you know how the world would have ended since? How many times do I thank my Creator for my lungs, my eyes, my brain, my nerves, my blood, my lungs, my skin, my hair, my nose, my nails, my eyebrow, my tongue and so many things I took for granted but when you take time to study it, you see the perfection in which you were created and took for granted? If I don't do that and I can't be as merciful as God, then who am I to complain about man to man?

If you keep receipts of those you have "helped", it is not giving, it was business you were doing. I don't keep scores. I score my goal and go to the next match.
It is for this reason I don't bother about the games of the receiver because me I am playing a different champions league. And I know that my favor is not from them because in most religious books I have studied and in spiritual life, the givers never lack but the givers who put condition go slack. If you grew up with grandmas, grandpas and elderly, you'll understand the concept of giving more. They are not dumb when they give but they learned some things from African spirituality in giving. I also don't get carried away by all the money in the world because the concept of money is man made, so we continue In the endless pursuit of paper currency, expecting it to solve problems money will never solve!

He learned it from the so-called democratic or progressive man 🤡, his boss, Concensus. Wike is proof that Bola is not a true democrat and the power he has today is for his selfish reasons. This further confirms that Tinubu did not win Rivers state so he has to use force in the state.

Tinubu's path to victory is
1. Voter apathy

2. Divided opposition

3. Force/threat (he has been using this in Lagos for long but with federal resources, he now has governors like Okpebolo, Wike, SP Akpabio who's always assuring that he will win and others to threaten people to vote him or else)

4. Money (what's your price? This is why he and Atiku are two sides of a coin)

5. Propaganda (gaslighting, see how they celebrate the uncompleted coastal road)

Those who wanted to rewrite his story just made me chuckle. Guy didn't want Fashola serve a second term simply because he wanted to be President. He didn't want anyone to have a record to be compared to him or outshine him. They are just lucky Fashola did not show craze like Ambode did, someone they eventually sent away under the guise of GAC. They now claimed that he made Fashola, he built Lagos, Ambode did not follow master plan. You see how their stories are not consistent. They then called Osinbajo a betrayer. These ones are lords and serfs. Those who refuse to learn history are doomed to repeat it

It's easy to pick on the Igbos but those of us who know what the people of Lagos themselves are saying know they want freedom from outsiders which is an irony. Those who lay claim to Lagos can't trace their ancestry. They can't tell you their history because it does not exist. It's not so bad that non indigenes can be who they want to be in Lagos but the hypocrisy stinks when they lay claim to a title that does not belong to them. These are pests.

uote author=SixSeven post=138148137]
That man played the same game with AD so it's not a surprise to see it. Even PDP in Lagos could not be a good opposition because they kept using them as false flag. Look at the last guy who contested for Lagos Governor for PDP last time, he moved to APC and was not ashamed to let you know he worked as a mole. Mr Strategy has used this playbook many times and it works where there are hungry people who can sell their father's house for pittance. It's a Machiavellian type of politics that involves rub my back, I pat you and it's big money involved. Leave integrity for honest people. That one no consain dem.

You see this campaign they are running against Obi and GRV? They did it to Jimi Agbaje. In 2007, he made a good show in his first campaign with a relatively unknown party against Fashola, the next time he campaigned as a PDP man, they called him all manner of names and attached 'Ibo' to him. They already took care of PDP in 2007, they were not expecting an Agbaje to surprise them with organic votes under DPA, they took note from there and ever since then, he can't win their smear campaign. They are always using tribe to scare voters away but those who understand the game can see the fear. I wonder why people can't see this cheap pattern. APC pattern is familiar, that's why I have no pity for them when ipob or obidient give them the same medicine. They are half sides of a coin as far as I am concerned. It's giving them their own medicine. Propaganda must not be allowed to run unchallenged, if Obidients give them in the same coin, at least, it is fire for fire.

Mr Tinubu does not like competition, you are blocking his way. And we all knew this after Funso Williams was taken away from us by those who know themselves. If that man agrees to a debate this time, I will vote for him. But you can tell that he wasn't bothered about competition, that's why he appointed El Rufai and the gang to speak for him at Chatham House while the other contestants spoke for themselves. Mr Teamship does not bother to do presidential media chats, Mr Wike has done more media chats than the President shocked grin The morning shows the day

The tech companies need you to feed their platforms with content, the advertisers need you to keep pushing content, the viewers keep watching content while their lives move on and you realize you are the CONTENT. Content creators my foot. It's okay. It brings in money but the day they realise that once you switch off the phone, they don't exist and the world has moved on to another content creator, that is when they know the purpose of their existence.

The research 👇

Research shows social media platforms use engineering and psychology to keep women engaged through picture-sharing. By understanding triggers like social validation, self-esteem, and social comparison, algorithms amplify image-centric usage. This exploits natural psychological desires for connectedness, but creates negative mental health loops like self-objectification and body dissatisfaction...

Social media's disproportionate impact on women is driven by a combination of platform design and distinct psychological vulnerabilities. A comprehensive study by Stanford University found that gender bias is significantly more prevalent in online images than in text, creating a powerful psychological effect because visual media is processed implicitly and retained much longer than written language. Because women more heavily adopt highly visual platforms like Instagram and TikTok, they are continuously exposed to idealized, algorithmically amplified imagery that triggers upward social comparison. This feedback loop severely disrupts self-esteem and body image; internal research cited by UNESCO revealed that 32% of teenage girls felt that Instagram directly worsened their body image anxieties.
You know what's the danger here? Women are also targeted online by desperate men who will then target them online.

Edit: just saw this post on front page. It's always women's need to show these things👇
