Yemimovich:Oh yeah?.... My comment should not upset you this much. We all know why Wike is rewarded and protected by his master. He did a good clean job that's why Fubara must take note. VinnyBaba:I wrote in my comment that there will be a surprise in 2027 that the parties have not planned for. INEC will be the referee but the people will be the VAR. The Morocco vs Senegal referee already saw a sample of where Refs can be checked. The situation room of everyone will make it difficult for anyone to tamper with results. What APC did in 2023 was the Expo they gave the people. |

Putindbutt:Don't worry. People like you have come and gone. Time changes yesterday. It was a time here on NL that it was the PDP boys taunting the others. Now, it's APC. Time is a patient gentleman. edogu:It is. INEC should categorize these results into wards and LGAs and then State. There is really no need for any agent. All parties and every Nigerian can have their own electoral monitoring unit by counting and adding themselves. People are not coming out and I don't blame them. INEC performed well in the bye elections that we had before 2023 elections, all of a sudden, there was a glitch. I won't be surprised if they repeat the same playbook. Make it look like they will organize a good election and then on the main day, they will find one story. Look at this result. No one came out to vote. I saw results were only one person voted in the whole PU. Nigerians aren't ready for the change they want. If there's one thing APC did well in 2015, it was their ability to galvanize people and ginger them to vote on election day. Right now, they are banking on the people's apathy so their party members will do all the voting. They did not do membership registration for nothing. Opposition had better wake up.

patrickcollins:But that's where the problem is. It is not necessarily the PO that changes it. Look at the Rivers State example. |
Okoroawusa:If we are to be honest with ourselves, we can do away with PU Agents. We don't need them. |

The PO (Presiding Officer, not Peter Obi ) here should be the one to teach other Corp members how to write a result in corrupt Nigeria. Dami, you sabi work.

That last two is the one they will rig. Why? Because there's enough space for the unused ballot papers. Also, the officer did not sign off like the first two that did it in a way you cannot change. Let me tell you how they openly rigged the last election. Where they wrote 17, they will add 4 to it and make it 417 and they will write the total as 446. They don't even care if the maths doesn't add up or there are obvious alterations. There's a reason why Wike is VIP. What's the use of polling agents if the results will be changed at collation center? Our people are not ready for free and fair elections yet. We just pretend to, because that's where the real power is and these politicians are ashamed to fail. Each person can gave their own monitoring office. In fact, this is the kind of work I'll give secondary school students to add all the numbers they see online and compare the EC-8 with the uploaded one. Everyone will be able to fact check the total numbers for each PU, ward, LG and state. 66 years later, counting votes is out problem. What a shame. Edit: I have a funny feeling Nigerians will do their own calculations themselves even before INEC announces the 2027 results. How they will do it, just watch and see. Na INEC go see say they are the referees but the people are the VAR.

In January 2002, following the devastating Ikeja Cantonment bomb blast in Lagos, then-President Olusegun Obasanjo addressed a crowd of displaced and grieving residents. His response became a subject of significant controversy due to his blunt and perceived insensitive remarks. The "Shut Up" Incident On Monday, January 28, 2002, the morning after the explosions began, Obasanjo visited the site alongside then-Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Standing on the roof of a vehicle to address the frantic crowd, he famously told protesting residents to "shut up". Key details from his address included: 1. "I don't have to be here": Obasanjo told the crowd that he had already received reports from military commanders and the governor, stating, "I don't have to be here" to understand the situation. + 2.Belief of "No Life Lost": He later justified his stern tone by claiming he was under the "apparent belief that no life was lost" at the time of his visit. He stated that if he had known about the fatalities, he would have canceled his subsequent trip to Katsina. 3. Relief Promises: He assured the survivors that measures were being taken to provide food, relief, and to reunite children separated from their parents during the chaos. Consequences and Context 1. Public Backlash: Nigerians criticized the president for his "I don't give a damn" attitude during a national tragedy that ultimately claimed over 1,000 lives, many of whom drowned in the Oke-Afa canal while trying to flee. 2. Formal Apology: Following the backlash and the discovery of the true scale of the disaster, Obasanjo issued an apology and declared a national day of mourning with flags flown at half-mast. 3. Financial Aid: The Federal Government subsequently donated N200 million to a relief fund for victims. https://www.tiktok.com/video/7599961029937728789 |

Let retirement come na. You should learn to move on with the next level. Even in Nigeria, people are cutting ties, lest talk of japa. As you move on in life, your environment will start to shape you and if there's nothing that can keep that relationship, it's best to cut it but association is not by force. One thing about Nigerians is that they like to behave like sheeps, they want to do what everyone else is doing, they can't be themselves. That's why they are always looking for a shepherd to save them when they can use their head. The person who has japa is facing a new reality of life, don't add your own to theirs except you have anything useful to give back. Relationships must not be forced. You people just find a way to guilt trip people for your insecurities. Grow up.

Burob:Eeya sorry. I like the communal version of the country the village gives us. The 21st century will not be built by skyscrapers alone but by character, discipline, and vision. Artificial Intelligence does not replace integrity and technology can never erase identity. You can build smart cities and still remember your roots. Development is not the rejection of the village. It is the elevation of society with Ubuntu and with moral grounding. Why are people retiring to villages and tired of 15 min smart cities? 🤡
