point was , police are bad in nigeria but also not perfect elsewhere. you can't compare both and i didn't. i posted a simple video of police assault, to show that Nigeira isn'tthe only place with bad cops.
I've said it before on this forum that cops in the US are overactive while those in naija just dont care. you can't compare both, same way you can't compare two different people.
And for all the hypothetical questions you asked, look deeper and you might find them happen right here in America, but such things aren't widespread obviously. cops can't be trusted. here or in Nigeria

GabrielYulaw:
Sane people are actually comparing US to naija police? For real? Like for fvking real?

Will US police tell you that bail is free and act otherwise? Or will they make your friends and family pay for pen and disinfectant when they come to bail you at the station?

Does the US police exchange people who for one reason or the other opt to pass the night in the police station with actual criminals in the cells in return for a fee and then kill them off?

Does the US police run concentration/death camps like those at Awkuzu SARS where thousands of innocents are tortured for days and murdered in the most gruesome ways possible, with their bodies vanishing for ever?

Does the US police habitually close off streets, arrest everyone they see there, charge them for robbery committed in the area weeks ago and make them bail themselves?

Is the US police in the habit of claiming accidental discharge? Yeah, they sometimes kill people for the fun of it, but do they claim accidental discharge?

Does the US police exist mainly to harass, extort, rob, kidnap and murder on a whim?

See, while the police in the US need work and reform, I would rather face an armed robbery gang or organ trafficker than most Nigerian policemen. Naija police are the stuff of nightmares and those of you who think otherwise probably because you feel you are connected will sooner or later have breakfast served to you hot hot.

As for those of you saying no massacre happened at Lekki, all I can do is forgo my atheism for a day and put you in my prayers.

i said over 300 people get shot daily in the US. i never said they died, i didn't mention suicide or mass killings.
I'm talking gun violence in general, regardless of fatalities.

Faithful007:
Majority of gun related deaths are suicides not homicides or mass shooting.

i swear i developed migraine trying to make her get my point lol. i give up

Roan77:

Man you have a comprehension issue, no one is defending Abba Kyari, all they are saying is for investigation to be carried out in Nigeria, if he's found guilty, he should be jailed, like I don't care.
But you are here saying he should just be extradited to US to face is crime, like who does that?
Even Sunday Igboho a Nigerian has not been extradited to Nigeria, from Benin republic to face his crime he is running from, they are due process to everything, this is just a common sense.

I'm not comparing anything, you asked why people rush to the US, i told you why, opportunities. nothing else.
a man came from Pakistan to visit his family and to see their new born, he died here, shot while walking around the complex, stray bullet.
so my point was, Nigeira isn't perfect and have serious security issues, but we aren't the only countries facing surge in violence.
still waiting for that low gun violence stat, since you called me a liar for stating mine. easy to prove me wrong i would think.
open ur eyes. banditry, rapes and kidnapping isn't enough to say we have more crimes, ours are simply more serious in nature.
but in terms of numbers of crimes, all crimes, i still believe the US has way more, regardless of how serious.

Faithful007:
No need schooling me on homeless ecampments and shelters. The US is nowhere near an utopian society. Even the UK overs a better Standard of living IMO.

But don't compare the US to Nigeria. The suffering and death in Nigeria is on a whole new level. In the US there's SNAP and the likes to alleviate hunger. Nigeria has almost nothing. The scale of crime in Nigeria to be compared with war torn and insurgency ravaged countries, no offense.

you must be truly in Awe of the USA aren't you lol haha

DubaiLandLord1:
Lol

You can wail from now till tomorrow, the police in the USA is far better than that of Nigeria no be small. Is uncomparable cheesy

because unlike in Nigeria, cops and political leaders respond to those acts of violence immediately, but that doesn't reduce violence.
in Nigeria it's that response that's lacking.
are you aware that new york state has now declared a state of emergency over the rising rate of crime?
people come to America for the opportunities it offers, that's the short answer.
go to LA and see homeless camps, its everywhere. like i said, read more local news

Faithful007:
What is happening in Nigeria can never be compared to America at all. Never!! Why are people emigrating to the US then. People are running away from Nigeria by boat, vehicles, Aircraft, Ship, basically anything that moves. And you say Nigeria is better. Something must be wrong with you.

deceive you? like i said. follow local news from the US and you will see the horror. I've wasted enough time on this today.
and for your consumption, over 300 people are shot in the US daily. I'm sure if this was a stat from Nigeria it would mean the end of the world

Faithful007:

That's the annoying thing. Anybody that says Nigeria is good is a big liar, but that doesn't mean we are the worst. What you are seeing here is even reasonable compared to Facebook users.

Funny thing is, they are the first to downplay every little achievements of the country while celebrating complaining about any negative thing about Nigeria.

If I come out and say that some terrorists were killed in Kaduna today, 60% will avoid the post whole 40% will look for ways to call me a liar but if I say that some soldiers were shot by bandits, no one will ask for proof. They'll be springing out of everywhere like antscheesy

right? not to talk of crimes committed by american teenagers, those little demons are even worse lol.
some ppl don't get it. at my job all i do is sit and write all day, then i read lots of news. America is littered with criminals, and I'm not joking here.
as for naija, we know the main ones, armed robberies, rape and kidnapping.. but in the US, there are literally thousands.
a woman from Asia just died today in new york, he fell down the stairs at the train station while with her son, because some black dude tried snatching the son's backpack. and from there they lost their steps and tumbled down the steel stairs. she just died.
how many women get raped yearly in the US, lots
these are the kind of crimes that happen regularly here. but how many Nigerians would know, you wouldnt.

So you expect small Nigeria to have more criminals than America

well think about it, how many cases of gang violence do you think we get weekly in NY? and that's just NY.
living here is exactly what gives me this perspective. because I've seen both sides. And I'm sure your average nigerian doesn't follow local american news that isn'ton yahoo.
see? to you, you find it inconceivable that there might be more crimes here, why is that? how many people get shot by regular guys in Nigeria yearly? compare that to US, I'd say very low. that's why i said incidence of crimes here are highly diversified.
here you look someone the wrong way and you could get shot. a 74yr old woman was shot dead at an intersection just days ago, while in her vehicle, for no reason.
you should go out more and you will see that things aren't always they way they seem. it's all part of a well crafted image.
while you morons are busy tearing down yours
sure Nigeria have really violent crimes, but over here there are lots as well.
and i said I'd say, didn't say it was a fact. just an opinion.

right? they will say we are better than this and we won't tolerate this kind of behavior from our officers, then few days later another incident don happen lol.
no mind these fools. besides it's not a matter of even comparing one country to another, it's to show that there are bad cops everywhere.
you give power to these people, most will abuse it. not uniqto Nigeria. that's the point that fool didn't get

Litmus:

The vid is tame, there are far worst ones. Tongue in cheek here: perhaps the lesson Nigeria police need to learn from their US counterpart is act sympathetic and apologetic after committing all manner of brutality.

US chief of police are forever behind podiums apologising profusely for one criminal activity or another commited by thire officers against citizens and after the vid you just posted it's beginning to look like departmental policy secretly laught at back at the precinct.

I'm beginning to think you have issues with simple comprehension. when did i ever defend this person? i have no stake in this, and talking of emotions, why respond to my comment with an insult.
what's wrong with Nigeria carrying out its own investigation before sending out an officer and its citizen to a foreign country to stand trial? you should get a map, US criminal laws have no bearing within Nigeira, indictment or not, he has not being accused of any crime by the Nigerian govt, which is why i said he should step down from whatever position he hold until the case is resolved and Nigeria should launch it's ow investigation into the matter , with the US providing material evidence to his complicity.
does that sound like I'm defending him. unreal. commo sense isn't that common obviously.

Faithful007:
Lol. Why do we begin to defend criminals whenever they are indicted, resorting to emotional and sentimental blackmail? He's an indicted accomplice and there is an extradition agreement in place. When an arrest warrant is issued, I already know Nigeria will likely not cooperate. Unless he's arrested in another country. The same thing was done with the Air Peace CEO. Not as if there is no evidence, Nigeria just likes to harbour and protect the big criminals. That's why the country is not moving at all.

i swear. if people back home see the madness that goes on here. they will think different , could be why i do, I've seen it all.
and if I'm to guess, I'd say there are way more crimes in the US than in Nigeria, Americans truly diversified their levels of crimes lol.
even these days to take the train is scary, women here no longer feel safe either.
let's stop being YES MEN to these guys.
the man have the right to defend himself. Nigeira should do its own investigation, then if there is enough evidence against him, put him on trial. its not complicated.

you people fault everything the Nigeira police does, i simply shared a video of good cops in America carrying out God's work. how that one concern you? i never once mention say naija better pass US, I'm saying whatever horror story you think goes on there, applies in other places, any idiot knows better. why you dey always act pained say i commot naija and you still dey stuck there? lol
it wasn't my decision and no regrets either. So if you look at it, i shouldn't care about what goes on there, but i do. it's still home.

lol. it can't be. i commot that side a long long time ago. And I'm sure you know better.
my point is, due process matters. and dont throw your own to the wolves without cause.
And to people saying America doesn't indict etc without having enough evidence, then explain why so many innocent americans rot in jail for decades, only to be later found innocent. once again, let's not put these people on a pedestal. Innocent until proven guilty.
I've had someone log into my bank account and tried to transfer $1,000 from it through zelle, bank caught and and called me, so fraud isn't something i support. only risk in home trial is that he might get off easy. but both countries can work together on it, and I'm sure they will. we shall see if he will be extradited or not. but i still doubt it.
But at this point, he should have been suspended from duty with pay until the case against him is cleared

dude, stop acting so mischievous. No one said he's innocent. is there a reason why Nigeria can't conduct it's own investigation before even the talk of extradition? things like this don't resolve overnight. The US will end up sending lawyers to Nigeria to lay out their claims against this person. you just don't cuff the man and throw him on a plane.
we're still a sovereign nation, are we not?
And oga wey don see plenty cops in nigeira rape children, still waiting for examples of that reckless claim.

outburst? this person no well. i don't know him. and in your opinion he's already guilty of a crime huh? see the thinking.
if you sit down and calm yourself, then you would know by now that if this allegations were true, then he has also committed a crime against Nigeira.
i said he should be tried at home. if not in office then extradite him if need be.
you just don't extradite your citizens to any foreign country to stand trial without first getting all the evidence against the accused, weigh them, then decide if extradition is warranted. common sense.

wow, was it your money? why do you sound so agitated? I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished if guilty of a crime, unless you are retar- ded and can't read.
i said he should be prosecuted in Nigeira, if he was indeed part of this conspiracy, then he has also committed a crime against Nigeira, violated his oath of office etc., too daft to get that? And as a sitting high ranking official, whatever case he need to answer must be carried out in Nigeira, that's all i said. this here is Transnational crime, he's not getting extradited anywhere, i can guarantee you that.
