THANKS FOR THE INFO.

And no, wasnt trying to be anal. undecided

BTW, are any of these homes getting recognized by their insurance companies? Or are you trying to imply that none of those homes have insurance? And did any of those furnitures [such as couch, fridge, TV] come with insurance?

Its easy to say that there are insurance companies in Nigeria. But are they stable in their function?
With time things get better of course. and Im sure there are varying levels of performance of insurance companies . . .
They even advertise them on commercials

Wait are you serious? I dont believe you can be asking these type of questions

Nigeria has "insurance" that WILL "take care" of it grin

If I only see what I want to, I wouldnt be asking questions . . . . to understand and to KNOW.

Since you guys fail to name an insurance company in good stable condition in Nigeria, I'll continue to 'see what I want to see". I'm sure that a patriotic member would soon post a company name [out of anger, I predict grin]

- There is nothing abroad that a person in Nigeria cannot get or hasnt done- If you ahve the means than you get it.

If lekki will under wata in 50 what will happen to the rest of the coastal states- that are even lower than lekki in comparison to the sea level? you do know that from Lagos on to cross river it gets even lower?

Potato potato. .  . . what he's trying to say is that flooding does not discriminate over any region.

Even though [b]sjeezy [/b]failed to realize that after all the flooding et all, miami residents still have insurance, FEMA and drainage system [even thoughthey're useless, they still help a lil] to help them after hurricanes/tornado events. Which is NOT all the time  undecided
theres insurance in Nigeria too jare and yes I do agree better sewer systems will help alot

You'd agree that just because there are good things about the area doesnt mean we can't talk about it flaws, understand that we have a govt and offices that are suppose to set standards for environmental designs
but floods will happen regardless- its an enviormental thing.

You are comparing america [miami] to naija abi?

for your information the floods will not only come from increased rainfall but to rising sea levels. the fundamental issue is the flood defences in the country involved.
your still not getting the point that there are floods and heavy rains in miami regularly- so why should lekki be any different?
PropertiesRe: I Live In Lekki by sjeezy8: 7:42pm On Jul 19, 2010
The WHOLE south Nigeria is prone to floods due to its heavy rains-

Its not really a big deal tho- look at Miami beach. They have floods and hurricanes ALL the time- but its still one of the biggest tourest destination in America

But Id still stay in Lekki over anyplace in Naija, just like id live in Miami over Most places in America.
PoliticsRe: Itsekiri Women Shut Down $800m Gas Project by sjeezy8: 5:24pm On Jul 19, 2010
its sounds crazy but honestly multinational companies arent really obligated to do anything beside-

1) pay taxes to the State/Fed Government
2) not degrade the community.
3) hire qualified indignes
anything thing other than that BS- all the multinational companies building schools, hospitals, scholarships -

If we had a serious Government in Nigeria mulinational national companies- woldnt have to do the Fed or State Govs tasks.
PoliticsRe: Itsekiri Women Shut Down $800m Gas Project by sjeezy8: 5:13pm On Jul 19, 2010
Well something is going to have to change in Nigeria IN TERMS of the Migration because in the developed world places where there is massive exploration of Gas, Oil, pretochemicals etc- people dont really live there. . . .

as its hazardous

lol oh yes there is - we just want to make sure theres true federalism before we start putting our own crude oil reserves on blast. You know we wouldnt want anyone(non westerners) chopping our oil money and leaving oil spills everywhere wink

Dummy any smart person knows that crude oil is in every coastal state(Gulf of guinea area).

I hope they don't shoot at innocent people. undecided

They seem to have some philosophy behind them. The journalists may be giving out disjointed information for security reasons (as directed by security operatives). undecided
These boys seem determined to press something home. That may be why the journalists offered information about their efforts toward releasing Uwazurike. That was a give away.

Meanwhile the drama continues. . We wait with bated breath. Nothing gets addressed in Nigeria except through violence. Why not bring these boys into the amnesty deals.
are you dumb they killed 4 people all youth from their own community

Good now no one travel to that part of that country. lol jk not really hahahaha

Onlytruth:
The Lagos NUJ boss narrated further, “the youths told us that they were only agitated by the affairs of the state, but not interested in the N250 million ransom they requested for.” They called on the Federal Government to adequately equip the police, to make them battle ready for the kidnappers, considering the sophisticated weapons they had. “All the guns I am seeing with the police here are the least we saw with these boys, who were just in their twenties. Only one of them looked like a 30 year old.”
That doesnt even make sense you kidnap someone demand 250 million, kill 4 people- but your not interested in the money.
