AkinDS: All in all, a great tournament for the development of women's football in Africa. For Nigeria, a good slap in the face for us. We've been coasting along all these years and were derelict in refreshing our team and doing away with the old guard. The team has been LONG overdue for that. The likes of Ordega, Oparanozie, Okobi, Chikwelu need to be done away with. Bring in the new girls and groom them.
Randy Waldrum clearly has his work cut out for him. In fairness, we missed the likes of Ajibade, Payne sisters, Onumonu, Okeke & Ohale, to name a few BUT the best team of the tournament won today. Nigeria NEEDS to move forward. We still have a good team to win it all on the continent BUT we need to be serious about our refresh program and the building of a younger and more competitive team to ensure our qualification for the Nations cup and indeed and most importantly, the World Cup. We have a LONG way to go and we need to be serious about it!!!
As VP Akinwunmi said after the game, glad this happened NOW and not when we are playing Ghana, when there is ZERO margin for error.
Kudos to South Africa and the 2021 African Women's Player of the year (in waiting), Thembi Kgatlana. Thembi Kgatlana is 2021 is African women player of the year in waiting, really? |

franchasng: Igbos always speaking up against the corruption and injustice in Nigeria.
The hope of a greater Nigeria lie in the hands of Igbos, take it or leave it, Nigeria became a carricature it is today after the Civil war that Igbos were pushed out of federal power and Hausa-Fulanis took over with the assistanship of the Yorubas.
If you want Nigeria to get back on track, ask the general Igbo population to give you a Presidential candidate and vote in that person and watch how Nigeria will be transformed but if you make the mistake of handpicking any of the corrupt rogues parading as Igbo politicians in the likes of Rochas, Orji Kalu and Co, then be prepared to have another failure like Buhari Rubbish |

MetalJigsaw: 2022 AFCON : Odion Ighalo's Presence Is A Desideratum For The Super Eagles Hattitude
Odion Ighalo is back in the news after netting two excellent goals for his club Al-Shabab Football Club in the Saudi Arabian Premier League encounter against Al-Hazm on Sunday.
The 32-year-old forward scored in the 3rd and 87th minute to give his club their first victory of the season, four games.
Ighalo has now netted six goals for his club this season, and 16 in total since joining from Manchester United last year.
Ighalo is one of the most in-form Nigerian striker at the moment and that is the reason, Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr want him to come out of international retirement and help the team.
It's been two-and-half since he retired from the national team, but no striker has been able to produce goals consistently, except for Victor Osimhen, but he can't continue to shoulder the burden alone .

With the African Cup of Nations approaching, The Super Eagles needs another good striker, if they are to excel in Cameroon, and I strongly believe Ighalo is a better and safer option than Paul Onuachu or Terem Moffi.

Ighalo has the ability, pedigree, and the experience to deliver at the highest level. What he's doing in Saudi Arabia at the most is incredible, and NFF must stop pretending like the Super Eagles don't need him.
If Sweden can beg a 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimović to return to the National team, I don't see why Nigeria Football Federation shouldn't support Gernot Rohr to bring back Ighalo who is six year younger.
Ighalo still a lot to offer the Super Eagles, and the Nigeria Football Federation must do everything within their power to reunite him and Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
In conclusion, Ighalo and Gernot Rohr combination has produced goals, victories, World Cup ticket and African Cup of Nations bronze medal for Nigeria and they can still achieve more together.

The Super Eagles have been giving the target to win the AFCON in Cameroon, and Ighalo might just be the man to help Gernot Rohr deliver the title to Nigeria. Rubbish |

Swanzi: Stop kidding urself “sakawa “is just the local parlance for what u call “yahoo yahoo” here in Nigeria and is mostly a collaboration between some Ghanaians and mostly Nigerians get this fact before u begin to rant…!! And for people showing so called rituals on tv well get this Ghana is a very democratic country everyone has the right to practice his/ or her religion peacefully. sakawa is a Ghanaian name which involves blood ritual, Nigerians have got nothing to do with it. So the democratic Ghana allows advertisements of blood rituals which is very barbaric, then why are you blaming Nigerians in the first paragraph?. Hyprotical Ghanaians blaming others apart from themselves. |

ubee: Is your question rhetorical or what? Imagine living in a country where people are dropping like flies daily from the bullets, machete's and daggers of terrorists. A country where all sorts of grisly mass slaughter of human beings happens every other day. Or is it beheading of a human that sounds strange to the ears of a Nigerian?
So also help me imagine the irony of a Nigerian asking - "What's Ghana turning to" because of this story? And you think Ghana is eldorado where bad things dosent happen. A country where people do money rituals called (sakawa). Or is it same Ghana where rituals are advertised on TV stations. |

Much higher standard of living too. Higher volume of foreign investments too.
The joke is on you guys in Nigeria, not them. Maybe they're only better on paper and for people like you who believe any story without being an eyewitness cause the Ghana #fixthecountry campaign on twitter is different from the one I've heard about. Who told you Nairaland forum is for Nigerians only? I am certain that the founder of Nairaland is happy that the forum has an African Outlook.
The childish question you asked is akin to an American asking you on Twitter why you are using a social network owned by an American.
I am Nigerian and I find your question out of place. I will assume you were trying to be funny, but it isn't funny. Trash |
