Christianity Etc › Re: Is Atheism A Belief Or Lack Of Belief by Skepticus: 3:26pm On Feb 28, 2018 |
Gggg102: in some old threads, I've seen atheist argue that atheism is the lack of belief in god.
they claim that they are atheists not because they 'believe there is no god' but because they 'do not believe there is god'
if it is so, this means they allow a possibility of the existence of god, and hence cannot assert that there is no god.
for example, John tells Bayo that David won a million Naira.
if Bayo states that this never happened, he is being affirmative and he is so sure that it never happened.
if Bayo states that he does not believe it happened, he is allowing a possibility of the event happening because a fact remains a fact regardless of belief (or unbelief). Bayo by virtue of his unbelief agrees that it is possible, but he does not think it happened.
if John repeated this claim to Seun, Bayo cannot say authoritatively that 'this is not true' but can only express his doubt.
for Bayo to state that John's statement is untrue, he has to have be present when the event was said to happen. but he only received information from John and can only disbelieve, allowing a possibility of the statement being true.
therefore atheist by their definition agree that god possibly exists, but only doubt because they have not been able to experience him. they can't assert that there is no god. Strawman trash. This won't fly, in the sphere of critical thinkers. |

NuclearBomber: PDP and Tinubu are parallel lines, they CAN NEVER meet. So stop dreaming. If anything, the SS/SE will take any opportunity to DEAL ruthlessly with SW and Tinubu for leading Nigeria to Golgotha. Remember the PDP convention, that is just a tip of the venom that SW would get.
I can tell you with all confidence that SW had been buried in APC and the PDP will never let them in. It is not bad to go astray; what is bad is failing to own up and pretend as if everything is OK. The only option left is for SW to pull out of APC, reform ACN and humbly rejoin their Southern brothers. Anything short of this before 2019 will sentence SW to permanent Political Irrelevance in Nigeria. Mark my words. All you wrote above is pure trash! I can manage to agree with the SS part, but SE? Go back home and smoke a better weed. With the morons they parade as leaders, even SS won't give them much chance. |

CROWNWEALTH019: The day PDP accept that criminal that's the day I will stop supporting them You obviously don't see much above the information that is often thrown out in public. Tinubu has always had alliance with PDP, running from 2003 - 2012. Insider information has it that he makes a good negotiation with PDP at the federal level to keep the state seat while leaving the federal votes for them. It was only in 2015, he ditched them to try his worth at the federal level. Now that the sagacity of Fulani politics at the federal edge is smarter than it is, it's time for him to break a link in the chain of APC to get his "Lagos" pride back, as that his is last hope of political relevance, if there is any. Oyegun is a good stooge of the Fulani Mafia at the centre, one which is always available for the Fulani to exploit from gullible southerners. Saraki is already off the dead alliance (smart dude). This is a good chance for the PDP and Tinubu to get back at the APC |

Time for Asiwaju to pull his A-game in alliance with a resurging PDP in federal elections as he has always done before 2015.
He is a done LOSER in APC! His wife already saw this coming.
Time to leave Buhari to fight is war of incompetence alone.
Oyegun is not a force to reckon with outside APC nor the South-south region. Another stooge the Hausa-Fulani Mafia always have to dislodge an old over-bearing stooge.
Good news for PDP if they can take the chance. Saraki is also in the offing having jumped from a sinking ship. |
