Ok i agree with you here but do it this way, make computer available  in every class and library, not just the, create username and password for each student. Student in their class can login with their username and password,do their work, save it and logout.Student can aswell continue their assignment at home  using their laptop and can also make use of the VLE from home aswell. Provide a printer in every class so that students can print out their assignments and project but assign to each student account the total number of printout per semester. Scrap Jamb, scrap poly jamb! from WAEC to year 1 or level 3 certificate for students that didnt have merit in their WAEC. Scrap F9 or fail, last grade should be pass not to destroy some people future, atleast with pass they can still do some certain jobs and bring up a family. Award BSc in Poly, college and Uni. Create certificate course starting level 1 to level 7. Mode of assessment should be assignments portfolio and practical  in some courses, so that students can know what they are doing instead of just writing exam at the end of the semester that is why some gradute dont know what to do when it comes to working in the office or other places. Each student knowing what to do in their studies should be their lecturers target. Dont over populate a class.E.t.c.
You don't need computers to write essays. You can easily do it by hand. Sure, it might be more convenient, but isn't better. Surely providing computers for essay-writing cannot be the highest priority for Osun State at this point in time.

And everything else (math, science) aside from programming can be done with pencil, paper, and at most a calculator.
Ah Jesus, pls bros, thats not the way,u see, things have changed. Throughout my school,I didnt use a pen.I was typing my project and assignments on a computer and saving it on a pen drive, you can even save backup in your school drive. Doing it by hand is old fashion and it is not allowed by my school.Let us grow up in everyways.Make use of a computer so that when u graduate and find a job,u will know how to make use of computer very well without been supervised
1. For 95% of the work you do in primary and secondary school, you don't need a computer. Writing essays, doing math, etc, none of this requires a computer. Maybe once you've composed your essay by hand you might want to type it up later, but you definitely don't need to have one in your possession.
2. If your goal is to increase access to computers, set up centralized computer labs. That way people can come in and use it as they need, rather than something individualized. Also if you do this you can get more computational power for the money you spend (by buying desktop machines.)
3. 150k laptops, even at $300 each is $45 million. I'm pretty sure that if your goal is to boost academic performance, there are 100s of better ways to do this with 45 mil.
4. In general, handing out something to anyone "for free" will cause them to treat it in a crappy manner. What happens when this expensive equipment is lost, damaged, stolen? Will you ask them to replace this $300 laptop?

Even at the university level, for most courses of study you don't really need to own a computer.
O M G,why are you talking like this. See,in my school where I graduated in UK,each student with a desktop in our class,u will  be given username and password, regardless of your course. U need a computer to write essay and do so many things. The world has changed,we are not in stone age period. Composing essay by hand is not the best! printing out hand out is not good aswell, handout can instead be on the school virtua leaning environment(VLE) whereby stundents can log in at anytime 24hrs,read and logout. projector should be used in class not chalk board.Bros, sometime im not happy about our educations system,we need so many changes. Students can have their own laptop to complete their assignments and project at home.  angry   angry

PStylish:
@All
Its none of your business whatever happens in Libya.
Even at the peak of their so called "enjoyment" did you partake of it. What did Gaddafi do to better your lives when he was alive?
The Libyans chose to oust Gaddafi and if you gave them the option of choosing between Gaddafi and what they are having at the moment, they will still choose their present state.
Its like having to choose between a relatively "peaceful" Nigeria under Abacha and a democratic Nigeria under GEJ laden with Boko Haram attacks in the north.I will go with the latter of course.
What is happening in Libya is a learning process. The difference btwn Libya and Iraq/Afghanistan is that there is an interim govt that has been around from day 1 of the revolution and is currently acting as an impartial mediator. The NTC commands a great deal of respect in Libya. They will get over this phase and grow stronger. It'll take time.So just steer clear and face your country, Nigeria. For now, let the fighting continue grin . One love.
Bros come back here, dont go yet. You see this your statement "Its none of your business whatever happens in Libya." I dont agree with it. What u dont know or fail to understand is that,Libya is in Africa,so it is our business.Dont forget that what happened to Libya can happen to Nigeria and other African country whereby people or agbero boys can turn to rebels and NATO intervening.I hope you dont want those NATO war planes bombing your papa or grandpa house. It is better to solve problem or issue amicably than fighting or inviting another person to throw bomb in your own country killing your own people,u feel me? So whatever is happening now,we have to learn bro.

Lastly," For now, let the fighting continue grin . One love." I will say dont let the fight continue,no white man will say let the fight continue in his country, instead, they will call for internal meeting and everything will be resolved. Take UK for example, what happened during the little riot in London? do they say the fight should continue like you said? NO, what they did is, they find a way to put an end to the riot and continued life in a peaceful way.Take this fact from me,if whitemen are not managing their own country very well, immigrants can not stay there today. So bro lets apply wisdom in all ways.

Much of the argument in this thread is wrong though. LIBYANS DID NOT DESTROY LIBYA . NATO DID - Using some criminals masquerading as freedom fighters and who are now showing their true colors. My heart bleeds for the majority of Libyans who were bombed into submission by imperialists.

Of course the West will not release the money to Libya for "security reasons" . It is in their banks now propping up their almost destroyed "democratic" Western economies
What we are saying here is that NATO bombed Libya killing hundreds of civilians and building were destroyed (who is going to account for that) and rebels were armed aswell killing other Libyans and other Africans. Also remember that each bomb thrown by NATO was paid for,it is not free. Too much brain behind all what happened.

This kind of little problem is normal in newly liberated country.

Instead of military to go around and retrieve weapons some other people went around to do that. And there was misunderstanding and fight started.

So there will be more other challenges ahead of their interim leaders but they will need to work hard to overcome them.
My friend dont say that again! which kain misunderstanding be that,NATO or Libyan rebels as dem call them no no before say misunderstanding go happen before dem begin to dey scatter their own country? See,lets open our eyes before we leap or do anything. Trust me and take this from me,NO British or American citizen will say I want to fight and destroy all the buildings in my country just cos one leader is not right or just cos they have a problem with one leader, all they will ever do is protest and protest with no armunition until the leader is out.

They have destroyed their own houses n country, lets see where they will sleep and what they will eat when another person is busy taking away their food. Infact if care is not taken,na international debt go finish them. Lets WAKE UP!

greateros:
the beginning of the end for Libya!
the next on the line will be debt burden, then hunger will follow, then death, while the west is busy siphoning their oilcry cry cry cry

LIBYANS WILL ONE DAY DECLARE QUADAFFI A MATYRE!

AS FOR NIGERIA, It will be worst for Nigeria the moment the west drops the first bomb in the north on the pretext of fighting boko haram.

The west doesn't have friends - all they have is interests! so even the western and eastern part of Nigeria will be drastically effected the moment the first bomb is dropped in the North by western alliance.

LETS COLLECTIVELY SAY NO TO WESTERN EXPLOITERS BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!

IF GEJ CANT HANDLE NIGERIA - HE SHOULD PLS RESIGN FOR THE SAKE OF OUR FUTURE!
You make sense! lets do things ourselves. If any of our leader is not doing what he/she is supposed to do,let the leader step down without war. We need a change the way we do things. Its just unfortunate that if things continues like this in Libya, people there would suffer, not ordinary suffer but the real suffer. All other African countries should open their eyes and see now infact they should be seeing things in HD by now.
Foreign AffairsRe: Ghaddafi Is Gone, Now They Are Killing Themselves by skfa1: 10:23am On Nov 14, 2011
I had to login, it seems to me that we lack knowledge and wisdom. I once argued with my friend before gaddafi died that these people (rebel) NATO are supplying weapon to and backing is not the best thing to do,who will take those weapon from them after war cos they will use the weapon to start another war causing Libya not to have rest which is what is happening NOW!

You see,my people, whenever European or west have problem, they deal with the problem among each other, they dont call on other people to come and deal with their problem which is very intelligent of  them to do. I urge the Africans to do the same. This can be related to a family problem whereby, the dad and mom solves the family problem but not calling outsider to help deal with their problem cos it is that outsider that will come and cause more problem for the family.

Ok guys, dont wanna talk much on this issue,Gaddaffi is dead now which is what they want, fine! lets see how the people of Libya will go around things with their intelligent.

To end up my words,I will say "KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM IS VERY IMPORTANT IN LIFE" .
