Being into Hr for sometime, I can tell you that the reason many do not get called for interview starts from badly framed cv's but if you can take the time I have helped you simplify it; How can you write an engaging and impressive cv, when you don't even know what a cv is? If you can be patient, I'll demystify it all in a minute! Lets shoot! What is a Cv? A CV is a record of your personal, education and work details. It should be as up to date as possible. The layout of your CV is flexible, however ideally it should be no more than two pages long. The use of headings such as Education, Career History can help to clarify sections. Don't use fancy layouts as these can detract from the contents of your CV. Don't make general statements about your qualities. Make sure you can support your statements with evidence. Try to link your skills and experience to the requirements of the job you are applying for. A good CV will include: Personal Details Keep this section brief - your full name, address, email address and phone number are important. Education Details Usually stated in reverse chronological order, with your most recent experiences first. Include details of the name of the institutions, the dates you attended and the qualifications you obtained / will obtain. Think about the relevance of the information you detail. You may want to include a list of relevant modules, information about projects and dissertations undertaken, average grades and/or skills developed. Career History / Professional Experience All experiences count, whether paid, voluntary or shadowing. These are usually stated in reverse chronological order with dates to illustrate how long you were there. Focus on your responsibilities and achievements in the role and remember to highlight where skills were used or developed. Positions of responsibility/achievements/interests These are all relevant sections to include and can be used to demonstrate that you are motivated to pursue other activities, have an interest in a relevant career and take the initiative to develop your involvements and skills. Try to focus upon recent achievements and what your contributions were, skills developed and outcomes. Please remember that this is a platform for you to demonstrate your key attributes and qualities, recognise your own achievements and the key challenges you have overcome. This is your opportunity to demonstrate this and potentially could be your first step through the selection process. AND Never ever submit in photocopies if you are going for multinationals. Preferable paper type is white conqueror. all the best. |
tanks buddy, I was just concerned! |
In the light of the present confused state of President Yar'adua; I have started dreaming of seeing Govenor Raji fashola as Nigeria's president Now!!! We need more of serious action than unnecessary branding and propaganda about the seven point agenda! Seriously speaking between the two of them I think Fashola would have impactedmore on Nigeria! what do you think?

Why is it majorly ladies that are answering this? Na wa o! Anyway omitting may be done in love so as not to hurt the feelings of a loved one! it's as simple as that. |
I saw an article that was tagged "a nation of idiots" I was appalled and bewildered that someone in his right mind could call his Nation, (himself inclusive) Idiot. the most surprising thing however was that some others agreed that they are idiots too. I mean that is delusional and unintelligent. I have always said that the problems of Nigeria is not in bad leaders, but rather in the fact that we have more complainers than problem solvers! I have met a lot of people and when i hear them complain about the nation I simply ask them; What are you doing to help us? and their answer, "I am not in power?" I know you'll have heard something like that before or it's other cliche: "they won't allow you do it?" that infuriates me because I kno you never know what will happen until you have tried! Quit Complaining start acting! I am doing something- Organising free computer training programs" that is what i call Impact. One way or the other, I'm helping the nation to develop its I.T base. So you think Nigeria is Bad? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? |

Graça Machel Scholarship Programme Application Information: The key aim of the Graça Machel Scholarship Programme is to help provide the female human resources necessary for economic, social and cultural development in the southern African region and to develop an educated and skilled workforce that can benefit the wider community. Scholarships that target women have long been recognized as an effective approach in addressing gender equality and eradicating poverty. By providing opportunities to study at postgraduate level, these scholarships aim to empower women and to equip them to take up leadership positions in order to have a direct impact in the communities, nations and region in which they live. Following in the footsteps of Graça Machel, these female scholars will be positive role models for other women. The Graça Machel Scholarship Programme will provide a minimum of 60 postgraduate scholarships to female students from Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe in both South Africa and the UK. The majority of the scholarships will be for study in South Africa. One of the key concerns of Mrs Machel is giving a voice to rural women and the scholarship is therefore aimed at empowering rural women. The Graça Machel scholarship is for women who have experienced significant struggle in their life and who have sought to overcome those barriers, be they related to gender, disability, poverty, age or racial discrimination. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate clearly how their application fits within this vision of empowerment. Postgraduate Study: All scholarships are for postgraduate study, either for one academic year if based in the UK or for two years if based in South Africa. Applicants must have at least two years’ relevant work experience. Subject Areas: • Health • Education • Science & Technology • Economics & Finance • Development Applications outside these areas will not be considered and will be discarded.
