Just recall how much Apple was before the stock split announcement, and what it is now.
My thought is that a similar pattern will play out.

I mean who doesn't want free shares?
Someone may argue the fact that it's the same value you will still get after the split.
I would say NO because the gains you make before the split and that which you will still make after the split (all due to investors' frenzy in between) will certainly increase the gross value of the shares you keep.
The power is in the holding period for stocks like this.

I have been searching and now think I have found a reasonable reason for the mystery behind stock prices tanking just after announcing a good report.

There is a craze the market has developed for companies that beat estimates these days such that they like into it ahead of earnings report date and when it turns out the company didn't beat estimates, they sell off (happened with Fastly, Etsy, Datadog, Nio, and lately, seems to be happening to Jumia).

If you have a fundamentally sound stock, and they report a good result buy didnt beat earnings estimates, please resist the temptation of selling off especially if you bought for long term. These same herd mentality crew will return with higher bids.

Having said that, the following 3 stocks have every sign of beating estimates with their earnings date just a few days away.

CAVEAT: Traders have been buying them until they are now close to their 52-week highs.
They are likely to break into new highs.

Just when I decided to pull out my funds here today and refire elsewhere... Elon pulls this out.
Will have to wait till post split levels (ain't gonna chase this one)
S&P inclusion and battery day are also triggers to watch out for in due course (for those following tesla)

From indications am getting, I doubt if they will beat estimates.
Investors thought they would when they piled into it until it hit $23 before starting it's descent.

Maybe they know better now.
Unless something materially spectacular is reported, the rally may be over at least for the immediate short term.
Mr. Market has the final say though.

I have learnt trading penny stocks is even more volatile.
When you win, you win big.
When you lose, na die!

So I trade with stocks I can hold or at least sell and still recover some dough to regrow should the play go the other way.

Just today, I was going through my trading journal and laughed at some penny stock play like when PLUG was a penny stock.
Bought it 28th Nov 2019 at $3.99.
Sold it 10th Dec 2019 at $2.99 at $107 loss.

I realised I dont have the patience for them especially if I don't have enough convincing information about their fundamentals.

That said, I bought NIO as a penny stock initially trading it up and down but then began to buy and hold and watched it grow out of penny stock range because I eventually kept seeing how good it can become in the future.

So I trade penny stocks, but am very selective.
Not the careless picks you find Robinhood traders bandying about with all due respect to them.

I chose option 2 and sold at $90 to buy back at $78. Can be tricky but this one played out as planned.
I don't run away from stocks that I pencil down for long term.

I was also gonna advise my brother Skymoore1004 to sell his LVGO based on what I saw but nairaland mods said "no way" and then it started descending.
I believe he must have taken the best decision on that though.

So yes, am back and will keep grinding, sourcing for value and sharing until I chop another ban for no reason.
