Novices think war is all about dropping bombs and missiles. Tell me in concise terms why USA failed to win the Vietnam war.

It is true that Wars aren’t won based on military strength but Politics. Warfare is political game but Nigeria is highly divided. It’s not united. Nigerian soldiers can hardly face Boko Haram or the bandits not to talk of advanced militaries. This is also a hypothetical situation. No nation would ever use a nuclear weapon. That would be political suicide. But if they did the nation that was hit by the nuclear weapons would be in chaos. If Britain launched just 10 nuclear weapons against Nigeria. Nigeria’s situation would make Gaza look like a paradise. Nigeria is a country with population centres around the country. 10 nukes would eliminate much of the infrastructure and people in the country. Loss of life would be colossal. Millions will die. Hunger and Poverty increases dramatically.

The Moors were Arabs and Europeans with very few blacks.they only ruled parts of Spain and Portugal. They didn’t rule Europe. That is nonsense. Moors were also ruled over by Romans and Greeks. Romans and Greeks started modern civilisation. In many ways they rival Africa today. The Moors also got their asses handed to them by the French.

Do you even know as to the amount of bloodshed that will be upon Nigeria?

Hirsoshima and Nagasaki bombs killed over 130,000 people. That’s a bomb from 80 years ago. The explosive power of a thermonuclear weapon can be 100s if not thousands of times more powerful than an atomic bomb. Nukes can reach temps that are as hot as the inside of a sun. With 10 Nukes, UK would have destroyed all of Nigeria’s population centres like Lagos,Kano, Ibadan, Benin and so on.
Missile strikes would also do a lot of damage to Nigeria. Nigeria doesn’t have the capability to stop missiles travelling at hypersonic speeds.

One of the MOST useless thread I have ever read?
So you think by 711 AD you think Rome and Anthens had not seen all manners of Science Medicine and Arts, you must really be a junk historian

You’re spitting facts. It was the Romans and Greeks that started modern civilisation and they go all the way back to BC. Romans and Greeks conquered North Africa. That’s why northern Africans have European DNA.

This thread is called black coping. Many of us will fail to admit that other civilisations ruled and conquered us but we didn’t do the same thing, there’s a reason why black people speak white languages and are heavily influenced by their culture but not vice versa.
Culture / Re: Long Lost History Of The Moors [africans] by Sladem05: 11:48am On Apr 25
olamidedivotee:
The Moor” means Omoros, which refers to “ children of light” and can also be referred to as the “ sons of civilization.” These set if people colonized Europe for a period of 400 years and were the architects of Europe’s civilization.

Surprisingly, they were Africans and they were the first to arrive in Europe. This story has been hidden from many, while the few that knows have refused to share it because, it pertains to the superiority of a black man.

They Moors first arrived in Europe in Andalusia, Spain in 711 AD. Tariq ibn-Ziyad was a leader of an army that crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from northern Africa and invaded the Iberian Peninsula. They conquered Spain and also compelled some parts of Italy into their subjects.

The black Moors ruled Spain for a period of 300years, before expanding to other parts of Europe in which they controlled much of the continent for 700 years.

A British historian by name Basil Davidson, narrates that there were no place in the 8th century that were more admired to live in than the African civilization built in Spain.
However, Shakespeare, the renowned writer of Novels, wrote about the Moors in his plays; Othello, Corielanus, As you like it, and others.

The renowned books about these set of people are found in Germany, but it is believed that the English must have altered the version or maybe get the books destroyed. The Moors ruled Europe from Spain and also ruled England as well in which they offered the Jews protection until the Civil war between their kinds.

Their impact and size of their history in Europe is so big and overwhelming and it is understandable while Europe choose to ignore their history completely and they are not even taught in modern schools.
Europe’s civilization, its stock market, culture, is definitely a leftover of these Moors that colonized them during that period.

It is known that Ghana existed in the Moorish maps at least before 1300. The Moors had universal education which was available to all, and according to records, 99% of Europeans were illiterate, and even kings could neither read nor write.

There were only two universities in Europe as at that time, whereas, the Moors had many, numbered up to seventeen great universities located in Almeria, Granada, Cordova,Seville, Juen,Malaga, and Toledo.
Paper and ink was introduced by the Moors to Europe. Arabic numerals were introduced also which replaced the Roman system.

The Moors lived in big palaces while citizens in France, England and others lived in big barns, which had a hole in the roof serving as a smoke exit. This showed the colonization period by the African Moors and were later copied by the Europeans.

Alhambra is a place in Granada which is a Moorish palce till date. Although the palace is today a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered as one of Spain’s architectural masterpieces.

The Moors brought the Compass to Europe, they also broughtvl the street lights, as their palaces were well decorated with street lights, lambs, which illuminated the vicinity.
The Moors ruled the world, the knowledge today all around the globe is from the Moors.

However, we have only compiled a few in this article, but questions have been popping up. Many asked, if Africans were the first to colonized Europe, then why are Africans now minors?

However, it was revealed that after the rulership of the Moors and the civil war in which they had between their kinds, that dynasty died, and Africans were usurped by the Europeans which led to the recolonization of the blacks.

Had it been the war was compromised, the blacks would still be in power and maybe, most African countries would have been in the list of first world countries today, a researcher opined.

You’re talking out of your ass. The Moors never ruled the world. They were not black but Arab, the Romans and Greeks also conquered North Africa expelling the blacks from that region. This is revisionistic history to another degree. Moors were never ruling England and Black countries were never considered first world. Other than North Africa, Africa has always been behind. That’s why the Europeans and Arabs beat them so easily. Mesoamerica also had far more sophisticated civilisations than Sub-Saharan Africa.

The nigerian military is one of the most competent forces in Africa and the world at large. Just because we're having problem dealing with terrorists who are mostly applying guerilla tactics doesn't mean we wouldn't be able to hold out another country in a Conventional warfare. Our troops are trained to tackle enemies in conventional warfares, not terrorists applying guerilla. Any country would find trouble containing enemies using guerilla tactics. Religion / Re: Do Witches & Wizards Exist? I Don't Think So! by Sladem05: 6:26pm On Apr 24
The fear of witchcraft is directly linked to the general education of the populous. The more educated the population of an area is the less witches they perceive and vice versa.
Africans think they are the ones that started witch hunting. But the truth is compared to the Europeans we were all learners, yes the white people once believed strongly in witchcraft. The Malleus Maleficarum translated as The hammer of witches is arguably the most damning text in all of literature. Written in 1486 by Catholic Inquisitors, it prescribed how to kill, torture and identify witches. And for almost 200 years it was the best selling book second only to the Bible. The book with sponsorship from the Pope killed tens of thousands of women accused of witchcraft.
But today people in Europe are smarter and no one talks of witches again. Why?
Education my friends is a mind opener.

That is so true and I don’t think it could have been explained better. All these supernatural figures we talk about have their origins in Europe whether that Withcraft,Vampires, Shapeshifters, fairies, werewolves and so on. That’s kind of what Halloween symbolises but in the West Superstition is almost entirely symbolic and fictitious. Look at popular western media such as Harry Potter, Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, The Originals, Charmed, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and so on. An average westerner even the less prudent of them wouldn’t actually believe that what is in say Harry Potter is real but an African actually would.
Very few of them actually believe it exists.

The West nowadays is highly secularised. When they realised that religion and superstition is not the way forward but rather science and technology. Their societies advanced dramatically and Europeans ended up conquering the world. Put this into perspective that there is not a single country on this planet that wasn’t influenced or outright conquered by Europeans.

Europeans and Africans were highly superstitious and religious. The difference is that Europe and The West moved on from that about half a milennia ago. Africa still has retains that mentality.

Guy, you claim to be educated but your reasoning says otherwise. Intelligent people know that argument is nothing but application of logic (love of wisdom and critical thinking) for establishment of truth. But you misunderstand argument as a war. That is why you sound the way you do. In my previous post, I wrote and I quote again "No race is the best in all". It means that White race is the best in some areas (e.g. science and technology like the internet devices that we are using for this argument), while Black race is the best in other areas whether you believe it or not. Are you aware that road construction companies owned and manged by the Whites use the controversial African magic to control downpour in favour of their road construction activities? I learnt it from a reliable source. Are you aware that Black race is the strongest race in the world? Give a black man and a white man equal military training and see who overtakes the other. Even in science and technology, give black race and white race equal opportunity in education and see what happens in the next 20 years. White people manufactured the first models of video player without knowing the full potentials of the device. Naija guys taught the white people that the device can serve as a satellite decorder without subscription. Go to factories in the eastern part of West Africa and see how Africans convert vehicle engine to a machine that can do two different things at once. For example, guys use the engine to improvise a machine that can crush kernels and supply energy (electricity) at the same time. Yahoo is bad but African magic shields bad guys against foreign defence as it concerns internet fraud. If majority of Africans acknowledge the fact that Afeican magic is real and effective, the magic can be used to reduce corruption in the continent. A small case will last for years in a law court while the magic can settle any case within few hours or days. Even the lawyers that speak big grammars in the court use the magic for protection. India is highly visited for such magic because Indians know the truth about it. The God that gave man brain for science and technology also bestowed some potentials on animals and plants. Those potentials are what Afeicans utilize to perform the magic. In your next post or reply, try to make reasonable points rather than concluding that I am ignorant and unintelligent. Thanks. I am waiting for you. Let's fire on.

You’re talking out of your arse. Magic is not real. Much of India is also very religious and superstitious but those areas tend to be poorer. It’s not getting them anywhere but poverty. Africans were always behind Europeans and Asians. They didn’t even have the wheel. The continent is a joke.

Oh ye black man. Brainwashed into believing he is inferior. Echoing racial subjugation cliches purposefully orchestrated to mentally subjugate him as inferior.

Listen, Civilization started from Africa. The earliest human civilization started in Egypt at about 3000BC when the ancient black egyptians gathered together to form a civilization, out of which came the egyptian pyramids (an architectural wonder of sort with to such a wonderful precision which still dazzles modern science of today), mathematics, philosophy, astrology, philosophy etc. Egypt was at its might during ancient times and can be likened to the position of America in the world today. Nationals from Rome, Greece, Persia, paid visits to Egypt to learn from her civilization. The earliest 'white' civilization is traced to the Romans and Greeks who were to surface in world history in 800BC i.e. about 2200 years after the Egyptian civilization. The Romans and Greeks learned from Egyptian temple priests and took their knowledge with them back to Rome and Greece where they wrote their books and equally admitted in their books that they learned from the egyptian priests first hand. Ancient Egyptians were already practising mathematics (the pythagoras theorem with which they used to build the pyramids. The pythagoras theory in mathematics which is wrongly attributed to Pythagoras actually came from the Egyptians for they knew that the longest side of a right angled triangle can be taken from the square root of the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other 2 sides. They had formulas for finding the area of shapes etc). 2000 years later, Egypt was invaded by the romans, their temples destroyed and their books and knowledge carted away. Egypt fell under Roman occupation and became a colony of Rome from about 300BC to 4AD/5AD when the Roman empire fell and Europe was plunged into intellectual darkness.

Thus the Romans lost the knowledge which they had learned from the Egyptians, marking the beginning of the dark ages (also known as the middle ages - a period characterized by stuntness in growth of useful world learning and advancement) until year 711 when the black moors of North Africa who were Muslims invaded Spain through the Strait of Gibraltar and conquered Spain, Portugal and the Southern Part of France, establishing the Islam religion in Iberia (Portugal, Spain, France). The moors took knowledge with them to Europe and brought again learning and civilization to Europe.

The Spanish occupation by the Moors began in 711 AD when an African army, under their leader Tariq ibn-Ziyad, crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from northern Africa and invaded the Iberian peninsula ‘Andalus' (Spain under the Visigoths).

2. A European scholar sympathetic to the Spaniards remembered the conquest in this way:

a. [T]he reins of their (Moors) horses were as fire, their faces black as pitch, their eyes shone like burning candles, their horses were swift as leopards and the riders fiercer than a wolf in a sheepfold at night . . . The noble Goths [the German rulers of Spain to whom Roderick belonged] were broken in an hour, quicker than tongue can tell. Oh luckless Spain! [i]

[i] Quoted in Edward Scobie, The Moors and Portugal's Global Expansion, in Golden Age of the Moor, ed Ivan Van Sertima, US, Transaction Publishers, 1992, p.336

3. The Moors, who ruled Spain for 800 years, introduced new scientific techniques to Europe, such as an astrolabe, a device for measuring the position of the stars and planets. Scientific progress in Astronomy, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography and Philosophy flourished in Moorish Spain

4. Basil Davidson, one of the most noted historians recognized and declared that there were no lands at that time (the eighth century) "more admired by its neighbours, or more comfortable to live in, than a rich African civilization which took shape in Spain"

5. At its height, Córdova, the heart of Moorish territory in Spain, was the most modern city in Europe. The streets were well-paved, with raised sidewalks for pedestrians. During the night, ten miles of streets were well illuminated by lamps. (This was hundreds of years before there was a paved street in Paris or a street lamp in London.) Cordova had 900 public baths - we are told that a poor Moor would go without bread rather than soap!

6. The Great Mosque of Córdoba (La Mezquita) is still one of the architectural wonders of the world in spite of later Spanish disfigurements. Its low scarlet and gold roof, supported by 1,000 columns of marble, jasper and and porphyry, was lit by thousands of brass and silver lamps which burned perfumed oil.

7. Education was universal in Moorish Spain, available to all, while in Christian Europe ninety-nine percent of the population were illiterate, and even kings could neither read nor write. At that time, Europe had only two universities, the Moors had seventeen great universities! These were located in Almeria, Cordova, Granada, Juen, Malaga, Seville, and Toledo.

8. In the tenth and eleventh centuries, public libraries in Europe were non-existent, while Moorish Spain could boast of more than seventy, of which the one in Cordova housed six hundred thousand manuscripts.

9. Over 4,000 Arabic words and Arabic-derived phrases have been absorbed into the Spanish language. Words beginning with "al," for example, are derived from Arabic. Arabic words such as algebra, alcohol, chemistry, nadir, alkaline, and cipher entered the language. Even words such as checkmate, influenza, typhoon, orange, and cable can be traced back to Arabic origins.

10. The most significant Moorish musician was known as Ziryab (the Blackbird) who arrived in Spain in 822. The Moors introduced earliest versions of several instruments, including the Lute or el oud, the guitar or kithara and the Lyre. Ziryab changed the style of eating by breaking meals into separate courses beginning with soup and ending with desserts.

11. The #Moors introduced paper to Europe and Arabic numerals, which replaced the clumsy Roman system.

12. The Moors introduced many new crops including the orange, lemon, peach, apricot, fig, sugar cane, dates, ginger and pomegranate as well as saffron, sugar cane, cotton, silk and rice which remain some of Spain's main products today.

13. The Moorish rulers lived in sumptuous palaces, while the monarchs of Germany, France, and England dwelt in big barns, with no windows and no chimneys, and with only a hole in the roof for the exit of smoke. One such Moorish palace ‘Alhambra' (literally "the red one"wink in Granada is one of Spain's architectural masterpieces. Alhambra was the seat of Muslim rulers from the 13th century to the end of the 15th century. The Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

14. It was through Africa that the new knowledge of China, India, and Arabia reached Europe The #Moors brought the Compass from China into Europe.

15. The Moors ruled and occupied Lisbon (named "Lashbuna" by the Moors) and the rest of the country until well into the twelfth century. They were finally defeated and driven out by the forces of King Alfonso Henriques. The scene of this battle was the Castelo de Sao Jorge or the 'Castle of St. George.'

Moorish Chief

Spain (Europe) and Morocco (Africa) are so close together that you can see both countries from each side of each continent:
http://i.imgur.com/9NTwF.jpg?1[/img]

You could literally cross over from Morocco into Spain by speed boat in less than 10 minutes.

The Moors brought enormous learning to Spain that over centuries would percolate through the rest of Europe.

The intellectual achievements of the Moors in Spain had a lasting effect; education was universal in Moorish Spain, while in Christian Europe, 99 percent of the population was illiterate, and even kings could neither read nor write. At a time when Europe had only two universities, the Moors had seventeen, located in Almeria, Cordova, Granada, Juen, Malaga, Seville, and Toledo.

In the 10th and 11th centuries, public libraries in Europe were non-existent, while Moorish Spain could boast of more than 70, including one in Cordova that housed hundreds of thousands of manuscripts. Universities in Paris and Oxford were established after visits by scholars to Moorish Spain.

It was this system of education, taken to Europe by the Moors, that seeded the European Renaissance and brought the continent out of the 1,000 years of intellectual and physical gloom of the Middle Ages.

After the end of the Moorish period in Iberia (Europe) came the Renaissance period, marked by the revival of interest and learning in arts and science. Europe grew and expanded ever since.

The Moors ruled for over 800 years in Europe until 1492 when they were finally expelled from Spain by Isabella back to Morocco. By 1800 America (the new world) was coming into world power. The expellation of the moors (blacks) was a great victory for the whites in the history of whites. The period of Moorish presence in Spain began the signification of 'black' as evil (the domination of islam over christianity in spain and consequently 'black', being the colour of the moors, being synonymous with the islam religion), thus giving birth to the earliest racial sentiments against the black people. It is said that before the Moors left they handed over a map of how to get to the Americas. 8 months later in 1492 using the map handed over to him, Columbus set out for his voyage to America (the new world) where he met the Red Indians. Transatlantic slavery of black africans was soon to start immediately, in early 1500s and reaching its peak between 1600 and 1700s and ending in the 1800s.

The dominion of the blacks in spain was something europe was never to have again. Thus began the subjugation of the black african people as 'lower' beings, blotting of the african history and rewriting of history, attribution of earliest human inventions to people of caucasian origin (philosophy attributed to aristotle who mentioned that he learned from the egyptians, pythagoras theorem which the ancient egyptians used in building the pyramids attributed pythagoras a greek man etc), the attempts to 'white-wash' ancient egypt and claim its civilization to be 'white' civilization or non-african or 'aryan' despite overwhelming evidence seen from the mummies of dead pharoahs, egyptian depictions of themselves as a black people, egyptian reference to themselves as 'kemet' (black, khawm, ham), DNA and skin test evidence performed on some of these mummies that revealed sub-saharan ancestry and high melanin pigmentation (blacks have high melanin content in their skin, whites lack melanin. Melanin is responsible for the colouration of the human body) etc that prove the ancient egyptians were a black people.

One of the earliest universities in the world is the University of Timbuktu in Mali but you will never hear of this part of history. It has been totally ignored and sidelined and European universities glorified instead.

The Renaissance period of Europe saw the representation of several African figures as whites. In Christianity, Jesus Christ and His Mother, Mary, who were black were represented as white people. The Pope in Rome, obviously knowing the truth, prays in front of a black mother mary and baby jesus. Beethoven who was described as a 'blackamor' is said to have been represented as 'white'. The 18th century saw the rise and spread of white superiority and black inferiority theories all over Europe and America. Several tactics have been used to ingrain mentally into the black people of some 'inferiority' complex, which unfortunately till today, majority of blacks are still suffering from it. They have been told several times without number that they are 'inferior' and incapable of performing great things that they have come to believe it as true. Infact, some blacks would not even want to attempt greatness or invention because they believe their brains are incapable of doing such.

Till today, blacks are still suffering from this mentality and there has been several calls for blacks to emancipate themselves from mental slavery. You are no longer physically bound by chains but mentally you still think you are. However, some blacks are beginning to awaken to their original self. With knowledge, self-realization is restored, and there comes with it power of the mind and self.

You aware that North Africa was actually Black till the Romans, Greeks and Arabs came along. Africa was always behind the rest of the world. There is no sub-Saharan African civilisation that was a rival to the ones in Europe like the Romans and Greeks or Mesoamerica like Aztecs and Incas or the Middle East.

2 different countries with different exchange rates.

What kind of useless comparison is this

Why don't you compare us with our mates? Compare us with South Africa, Ghana, Tunisia, Mozambique.

We are thousand years behind USA

For real. Look at this chart, You need a microscope to see Nigeria on this map.

Of course infant mortality exists in Japan, and the stats would have taken it into account.

The difference is whilst Nigeria have the highest infant mortality in the world, Japan has negligible infant mortality. It has also the highest population of people who are over 100years old.

Japan is like that due to low crime, citizens live a healthy lifestyle, it’s extremely modernised and has a very sophisticated healthcare system. It is some of the best in the world. It’s only East Asia that gives the Western world a challenge in this regard. Life expectancy is a very good indicator of standard of living. Richer/more prosperous nations will have a higher life expectancy because their healthcare systems will be much more advanced and sophisticated. They have stronger institutions and a strong rule of law.

No I do not see your point.
This calculator of life expectancy does not give the average life expectancy for the country and it is designed for people residing in the USA or whichever country that created it.

That is untrue. Stats aren’t western propaganda 😂😂

nex:
The fact that you saw a hundred year old Nigerian doesn't mean the life expectancy has increased.

Go to the graveyard and check the ages inscribe on the gravestones. People in their 20s and 30s are dying at an alarming rate.

The real reason for Nigeria's low life expectancy though, is the high infant mortality. By the time you add the ages of the hundreds of babies dying daily, to the few aged people, you find the average is about 46-52.

I dream of living past 50, but the way this country is, I'm doubtful.
Correct,
It’s the poor standard of education and healthcare
1. Education- Women having too many babies due to poor or no sex education
2. Healthcare- Both the system and technology of the healthcare is horrifically behind the rest of the world. That’s why many Nigerian women like to have their kids abroad. The chances of death for them or the child are much lower.

You have all manners of issues tucked in one body. It ain't a matter of either, but certainty. You have comprehension issues with burning h@te, poor upbringing, shameful level of moral, dirty mudfight and ·disgusting bigotry. You're already down the mud and continue to look for whom to drag down the mess with you.
For clarity, the word “might” in the context of my previous post didn't represent “may” or its past tense (such tense would have been incorrect in a present tense context to start with) but is a conditional word that iterate acceptance of the point of contest EVENTHOUGH THERE'S AN ADDITIONAL POINT THAT ONE'S WILLING TO INPUT. That the western dudes in this argument are FAR richer than DANGOTE hadn't been a point of contest in any of my post. From first to this last one ('cause I won't honour you with another reply after this), I hadn't disputed it. So, what seems to be your problem that you drag me around for it?And why is it that the fury you have over certain Nigerians believing DANGOTE is richer (even though I hold my reservation over that accusation because Ii've never met one who believe DANGOTE is richer than any of MUSK, GATES, MARK, BEZOS, et all. Not even the semi- and the stark illiterate on the street) should be expended on my mention? How's what others think my concern? If you find it difficult understanding simple sentence or worse still, looking for a fight opposition, I'm sorry I can't help you. This is goodbye.

I wasn’t just talking about but others on thread. Yes, Nigerians do clearly have chauvinistic nationalism if they are comparing themselves with the developed world. Look again people like payaseri have compared Diezani to the likes of Musk, Gates and so on.

This has nothing to do with bigotry or burning hate. It is simply stating the truth.
