Wow! I enjoyed reading tru dis thread. I've always wanted 2 be a doctor. I wrote Jamb 4 times. 3 of my results were witheld .finally, I got admission 2 read Animal n environmental Biology. I graduated since 2009 wit a 2.1. I'm done wit nysc sincee 2011. Been looking 4 a job and confused abt wat 2 do in Msc. I applied 4 direct entry in2 uniben 4 medicine. Just wrote d exam last week. I'm 28, a female n want 2 get married b4 or while in sch. Wit all I hav been reading abt stress in med sch, difficulty in getting a placement 4 housemanship, USMLE, Primaries etc; I got a bit scared 2 be frank. But I'm not deterred cos I believe wit God by my side, I will live my dream. Lest I forget, I started feeling faint at d sight of blood at some point but I'm controlling it now. Hope I will get ova dat? I wanted 2 be a surgeon but I'm afraid I will go 4 medicine dependin on if I get ova it. Pls I need comments from my big brothers and sister and senior colleagues telling me d realities of d journey of being a successful medical doctor. Thanks in anticipation of ur comments

Thank God 4 a safe trip back 2 PH 2day. Though, I got home at 11pm thanks 2 a gridlock along East-West road. To God be d glory.

Let me speak 4 myself. I want 2 get married tho still single 4 now. It is not good 4 a man/woman 2 be alone so desiring marriage is not a sin. I havE read books listened 2 eXperienced couples/preachers and developed myself 2 d best of my ability to be a submissive help meet and wife. I will not boast of being curvy or shapy like kim kardashian but I am proud of and i appreciate how God made me in a unique way and I know a man would love me d way I am. And I'm confident that he that shall come will come and will not tarry cos God has commanded it and d Holy SPirit is at work 2 bring it to pass.

Seems dis thread is left 4 dose dat made d AC. I didn't make d AC but I won't leav dis thread until its over and d chosen few r legally employed. I believe God has a purpose 4 wat happened cos now I've realised I can be am employer of labor and hav a human resources team 2 conduct shl, dragnet etc tests and possibly an AC too *It wud feel good being a Madam at d top* Watch out I will soon advertise for recruitment 4 entry level n experienced graduates 4 human resources, management n accounting, sales and marketing departments, in my company. Please, how many years will one study medicine in uniben if admitted though direct entry?

Life serving in d town is more expensive cos u may end up renting an apartment by urself while ur mates in Bodinga, Yabo or Shagari have corpers lodges and can come to town weneva dey want cos its abt 20 n 30 mins away and 100 to 200 naira (as at then sha). Cost of living is low and dere r benefits frm d host communities (I can vouch 4 where I served). Don't forget God, Don't trust pple u don't know even if dey r fellow corpers, be alert n security conscious. Always travel wit ur crested vest and cap(wen u get dem) 4 easy identification not forgettin ur I'd card. Don't go wit laptop cos u may not be allowd 2 use it in d camp and so it won't be stolen

I served in sokoto 2010/2011. It is a peaceful state*no bombings so far*. D weather is challenging. Extreme heat n extreme cold. D good news is: it was so much fun! Enof food!!! Things r cheap only if u dnt serve in d town. Pray 2 serve around town. Not in sokoto town. Pple frm PH, use Gold Int'l transport co at mile 3 afta d park by conoil filling station. Dey move straight 2 sokoto frm PH. Its abt 20hrs journey, day n night. Just enjoy d trip and ur service year.
