i got ur point. but if we say talib is a better rapper than Weezy, then we might say he is better than jay z. because Jigga himself admitted to Talib being a better rapper(lyricist). Personally, i don't think being the best rapper alive is all about rap prowess, lyrics mastery and story telling, i think its about sales and popularity. definitely, numbers dont lie - do they?.
