So many pig farmers have been asking alot of questions and the most frequently asked questions are -how do you make profits from piggery. This is because piggery despite its prolific nature has not been profitable to most farmers especially when on a large scale i.e commercial level. Because alot of farmers end up in losses not to talk of breaking even. -Biosecurity. How to prevent Asf and other diseases. E be like say you don suffer well well, that any gesture is suspicious... omo that wedding has been the parents dream right from time, he invited his goons so he cant fall his hand. You will only have a problem if you start going to them for money and support, because somebody giving you money must have suggestions on how to spend it. Which makes them have a say in your marriage. Doesn't mean you shouldn't collect money or support from them oo. I have this friend he spent most of his life schooling abroad, got back to Nigeria about a year ago. He then met this 33 year old Yoruba lady who wears a wedding ring but isnt married (she was almost married to the stage of printing and sharing iv before d tin cut). She got pregnant, (supposedly) by him, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who was miraculously AA cause both her parents are AS. His parents and other fractions even common sense imposed a no marriage order based on the genotype thing and besides ma nigga is not even thinking of marriage. Except that her Mum advised that if she gives birth to another child (taking the risk that the child could be SS) the guys parents might not have a choice than to just synchronize and they can have some more ground in negotiating a marriage deal. Now to the question This babes Mum now invited this guy to her mother's burial who died while she was at her Granddaughters omugor. Stating her reason that she has bp fluctuations. She doesnt want her daughter to bring another child without a father, that she doesnt want to go through such ordeal again.( I.e just to show him off). SHOULD HE GO OR NOT?? Feeding is the most important factor that determines the profitability of any piggery venture as it constitutes over 75% of the cost of production of pigs. Feeding is very important as it influences the quality and standard of your products either as meat for pork (great carcass value) or as farm inputs (great genetic abilities) either for new farmers or farmers who want upgrade the genetics of thier herds. From the site, size and quality of your structure, also your speech I believe you have a huge and clear vision and objectives to be one of the biggest and standard pig farms. You are on the right track as you already have some of the most important factors of maximising profit in piggery which are large land and quality housing. I attached a few pictures of my pen hope you get a few tips for your pen from them I noticed the roof is quite high, I would advice you plant some trees around the pen as soon as possible to provide adequate shade for the pigs. The number inputs you want to start with shows how big your dream is. Just a little scope into the dream of starting with 25. Do you know that if you start with 20 gilts and 4 boars of 7-8months old in a year you will have an average of 224 pigs. That brings us to the most important factor which is quality feeding you have to be prepared to feed your large herd. Feeding constitutes about 80% of the cost of production. It's doable but you have to be prepared. That brings us to strategies to employ in other to ease the stress and pressure of feeding such a large herd and also to start earning revenue. These are the marketing and sales strategies, with good and vibrant marketing you can select the ones with good breeding traits and sell off the remaining 80%. The most important thing is you have to be prepared and you will need a mentor, we can together create a plan and execute it, exploiting all the various channels and strategies to break-even quick, maximise profits and grow as all "my experience will be your foundation".
