^^^God bless you sir! People forget that that is how the league is won. That is how we wiped out an 11point deficit against Chelsea last year.

Forget what flying run whoever is on and funny permutations. Take each match individually and try racking up the points.

The older gunner will understand this. It is why we lost the premier league in 99.

In all honesty, you are having a fine evening stroll. You see a man speaking a few words and just a few yards ahead you see a donkey talking as if it were human. Come on now, don't be shy, which one will catch your attention more?

Of course you have to trust the opinion of the donkey ahead of the opinion of a keeper that went an entire season without tasting defeat:

'I am sure he will be a great support for Arsenal, it was a very good decision to sign him'. . .Jens Lehman

But what the hell does he know. wink
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 11:19pm On Sep 06, 2011
Donkey keep my name outta your mouth. . .sorry, jaws.

Ed, abeg help me translate. grin

@Coogar as per the formation, can't expantiate but the down side to the first formation is that demands a more defensive performance for Fabregas. Like I've said before, Fabregas is the key here.

The other formation, please forget any modification of the 4-4-2, I've seen us use it I wasn't impressed. The last time it made any sense was against Stoke and they were already one man down. It was easier to stretch their defense.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 8:00pm On Sep 06, 2011
@Dipo. . .you know this. At ease soldier. grin

I was about to ask Coogar the same question. True Walcott can dribble but so also can Clichy grin. Seriously though, his dribbles are few and far between. What he has and is confident about is his pace. And his best 'friend' on the pitch is a good midfielder to spot his run behind a sleeping left back. Wonder why he didn't do well against Enrique? because the spaniard hardly crosses the halfway line.

@Coogar, as I see it. We already play a 4-2-3-1. One of the 2 in the middle is licensed to join up when we go forward. One of the 3 in front is required to join up when we are on the back foot. For obvious reasons, this player however is the engine room, the creator. Cos he can start it from deep and can hold his own in the final third. This is the position you propose that AA23 plays. The problem however is that we had a certain Cesc Fabregas already in that role. Note that Arshavin's 'best form' as people see it, is when we needed creativity after Alonso did Fab in for a coupla months. But really Arshavin to Cesc in the engine room?

The other formations are just variations of 4-4-2, we didn't have the wingers to pull it off anymore. So we dropped it. Simples, as I see it.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 7:26pm On Sep 06, 2011
Wow, tactical genuises in the beelding.

We don't play 4-4-2 anymore. What is wide? And what is 10? Arshavin has the liberty to cut inside and cop assists for vP like Theo always does. Oh by the way, ya'll might like to lookup the record of the finished Arshavin.

@Coogar please one sentence explain a football brain. Another pointless british media soundbite tongue

Mr Man, the matter is still in court. Like I said, in court for financial impropriety.

And which drought. What's happening in Somali that's drought. Sudan. . .drought. . .Chad Basin. . .drought. What drought? Abeg.

I said he has guided the club through that period, I didn't say he was excelling through it.

Again if you think its a nothing task, please name the clubs in the entire England who built a stadium in the last 20years and are anything to reckon with.

Please this matter is oevrflogged. Its all good going back and forth with you. But now a donkey has climbed the staged, I don't talk to animals. I am not Dr DoLittle. grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 7:13pm On Sep 05, 2011
Benitez, erikkson. . . Very good company for Twitchy there in my opinion wink So you are telling me his brief was to run the club aground. Maybe he did sef, he has a track record after all.

This is a numpty in court for financial impropriety and he is meant to manage a cash conscious team like Arsenal. Negro please.

And I never implied Wenger bankrolled nada. We know to whom the credit goes for our stadium. We have bridges named after them. What I have credited Wenger for is guiding the club through that period. And if you think its such an easy task, I'm sure you know how Ferdinand came to be a scummie?

Haha rich from you Coogar. So its now gydmakiwatshisname'sfault eh. So Twitchy, that potato sack-looking m0r0n (Naijababe wink ) has no fault in this. I think you must work for skysports or something.

And what's the Fratton park comparison? Like I said, he bit more than he can chew.

Seeing as everything in Arsenal is 'Wenger's fault'.

Its rich how Twitchy, that rotten pawpaw looking f00l is suddenly blame free. (Note the new paragraph)

And Liverpool cut one of the most lucrative shirt deals of all time. While we are at the mercy of our paltry emirates deal, my vice-versa makes sense. Again a direct consequence of stadium building. Yet again I heartily anticipate their stadium project. It will be epic. There is only one Arsene Wenger available for that you know. grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 5:26pm On Sep 05, 2011
@Coogar Twitchy massively indebted Pompey to do that. He brought in players whose wages could not be sustained. Yes they won, but not very long later they went down purely due to financial reason.

Please don't use that name and Arsenal in the same sentence again. Thank you.

Yet again, we can but speculate, but I sincerely hope Liverpool chop winsh and enter into a stadium project. People who struggled to make Europe and are not even rated after spending over 50million in one window? Where will they even see 15million to spend in the market. Except of course they wanna pile on debt like *cough* Man *cough* grin

I really don't wanna get into finacial debate, but our large gate takings is offset by our shyte commercial deals. And vice versa for liverpool. They have no right to the free pass they get. Luckily for them, they have Alan Hansen and Phil McNumpty!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 4:54pm On Sep 05, 2011
Seriously man! What exactly has he delivered? Please I don't want to discuss Twitchy here. He leaves relegated teams in his wake, and they still gladly kiss his behind because he's one of them. Manager of the year cos he came fourth? Seriously? When Ancelotti scooped the double in his first year?

Nobody has asked Liverpool to stay put and not move. They know the consequences of a big stadium move. And I'm not talking historical attachments, I'm talking financial strain. And they do have a very wealthy consortium now. And 'King Kenny' is back. Can we please all agree again they are competition for the title wink So that there will be no rancour when we all later agree they really tried their best when they only make Europa again? grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread (the Night Is Darkest Just Before The Dawn) by slimshay(m): 4:10pm On Sep 05, 2011
Coogar please don't get on that Redknapp love-in here jare.

Liverpool is always 'good to win' the premiership. Until reality sets it and then everybody, read media, helps them re-adjust their aspirations which they embrace well.

The Arsenal is defiant, nobody helps us readjust see.
