Last Sunday's edition was interesting.

To me, Muma is trying to force every tough ladies in the house to like her which shouldn't be so. She should just be natural and be herself. Whoever that likes her will do and vice versa and she should stop trying to impose herself on people of her class, she can do that to some local champions in a remote village in Sudan or Somalia cheesy cheesy .

I also suspect she has attitudinal problem, she might have in one way or the other angered the ladies in question by portraying being the most sophisticated, gorgeous, beautiful, talented, etc which others sees as nonsense. She tends to be a chameleon that changes with time, mood and environment.

Chioma, Chioma Chioma, I dont have much to say about you than the stand you took that you hate Muma Gee. It really shows you HATE her and you stood by it. I also noticed you missed Funke. You are confident and brave and you are the kind that stood by your word and friends even in problems and persecutions. You dont give a damn! I like that, but learn how to forgive easily. For those that will always make you sin, avoid them wink wink wink.
Thank you tawa-temi.  Exactly what I argued with my in-law about during the last show,

Why is Muma Gee imposing herself on others?  She is not just predictable,

I'd pick Chioma anyday over Muma Gee.  I'll know what to expect from her and my limits.  I can't stick with a person that will  wash my cloth when in a good mood and burn my clothes when in bad mood. huh

I'll stick with Chioma Abeg.  She be my person jare  grin

Career › What Can He Tell Them by slimslim(op): 3:58pm On Oct 19, 2009
Please house, I need your suggestion on how to tackle this situation.

A friend works in a manufacturing company but had to resign to join a rival company, after working for like 2years. Unfortunately, the new company had management problems and wind up barely a year after he joins them.

He got information that his former position is vacant and he applied. Now, he’s been called for interview in that same post and company, he resigned from. The problem now is, what can he tell them made him resigned at first? To him then, the motivating factor was just the finance but can he tender that now, won’t it be used against him.

Any idea on how to tackle this situation will be appreciated.
Career › Re: Why This Discrimination Between B.Sc & HND? by slimslim: 4:41pm On Sep 24, 2009
Sincerely, I have not seen the reason for discrimination between HND and Bsc. My experience as a Bsc and HND holder has revealed that Bsc is overrated, and that knowledge in our society is based on paper qualification and not on what one has upstairs.

I went for a Bsc in the same course I have an HND in, not because I was discriminated against but to acquire more knowledge and be at the peak of my career. Maybe, it’s due to the fact that my course is in the social science, but I must confess that the HND curriculum is far richer.

I have also been part of several interviews where HND holders performed extremely better than their Bsc counterparts, for same job positions.

For all you HND holders out there, don’t look down on yourself. Improve yourself if you can. And aim higher. It is well.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Christians Celebrate Birthdays? by slimslim: 4:37pm On Aug 24, 2009
I always asked friends that quoted the 2 birthdays recorded in the Bible as the reason why they don’t celebrate or celebrate birthdays with others; the questions are:

1. Were those birthdays recorded the “celebrants” “first birthday” ever?
2. Was it recorded that after those recorded birthday mishap, no birthday was
done again in the land?

To date, I have not been able to get a valid answers to them.

I have some other questions but answers to these 2 will at least help some of us to decide whether or not to celebrate or join others in celebrating birthdays again.

Kids and their funny ways

A friend shares a conversation between her 8 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter,

Daughter: You are sagging, you are sagging

Son: I am not sagging. It's the trouser, the waist is big.

(Their mum, overhearing the conversation between the two call the son)

Mum: The waist is big? Come and wear another trouser.

Son: (In response to mum). No. I like the trouser like that.

I agree with the poster.

This is not the first GUS show nor the first time totem will get missing. Were the keepers/leaders responsible evicted? , I know some will call it being dynamic and that anything can happen in GUS, There is need to be fair when one is being dynamic.
In the past GUS, a leader is appointed and another is mandated to assist the leader in keeping the totem and despite that the totem still get missing and none is evicted.

Wale did not throw away the totem, it was taken either by Bob himself or the so called council of elders, with the sole aim of evicting WALE.

It is a show of shame and one cannot but agree with OBAMAUS that the show is for shouteasterners because WALE might as well be punished by stripping him of the leadership post, not giving only him food- and asking him along with others to look for the totem, since the responsibility is for all of them- rather than his being evicted.

It shows we try to nigerialise everything we do.

@ Kevdee

Was there a poll wherein Wale was appointed the most dislike in the ongoing GUS, if there is pls let me know, Hmm, Wale is proud because of the way he talks, When is it wrong to be proud of what one can do and can achieve?

Mary Higgins Clark is a wonderful writer.

I have read a whole lot of them:
Weep No More, My Lady
Let me call you sweetheart
I'll be seeing you
Two little girls in blue
Love music, loves to dance
Remember me
Anastastia Syndrome and other stories
A stranger is watching
While my pretty one sleeps
The children are missing, (or something familiar)
Night time is my time
A cry in the night.
Silent Night
Second time around,

And many more,

I have a collection of them. There are some I have not even read. Quite Interesting.

@Minniepoe,

Has your coming to Nairaland to report what your G.O told the congregation last year got you your heart's conviction that paying tithes is wrong or not.

Why report issues in your church to Nairaland if you can discern from your own heart what is right or wrong.

Just wondering undecided

Except exemption certificate for part-time program was stopped last month, then I will quite agree they don't give.  huh A friend of mine got his'  two months ago.  He has been working with his professional certificate and schooled for his BSC on part-time basis. It was when he got another job in a multinational company,  that asked him to submit either his NYSC exemption or certificate that he went all out to get it.  He actually applied through the school much earlier though.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Is There Discrimination Against Part Time Graduates? I Need To Know by slimslim: 9:53am On Jul 20, 2009
NYSC do give exemption certificate to part-time graduates, though it normally does not come immediately. Most organisations still consider exemption certificates. I don't think part-time is written on certificate anywhere.

You don't need to tell us!  Its your personal decision.  Why announce it.  How many did you tell when you were attending what you now come back to call the institutionalised chrisitianity .  If you feel you are justified in your decision, you don't have to come public with it.    We are all running a race with the bible as our guide.  I am happy you have been shown the way to the cross.  It is now left for you to find and hold onto it.  You are not answerable to anyone on nairaland but the Almighty God.

hi Engrksa,

I could not confirm the correct figure from a former colleague still in the group. He told me it is around the N1m figure per annum. (He is not in wages dept so can't really be sure)

I'll advise you put in effort towards the test and Interview. Management can at times add more to what they are initially willing to pay if you perform above what they expect.

I wish you the best.

The Golden Penny group is under the Beverages Union hence their package then was balm! I cannot really tell their package now but I can tell that the place is okay. Put in your best during the interview and if the offer comes you can decide either to take it or not.

Wish you good luck.
