A social media account linked to KentOkwesa, a London-based screenwriter, has been placed under protection following reported threats allegedly issued by some members of the Obidient movement.

KentOkwesa, who identifies as a 25-year-old screenwriter using they/them pronouns, describes their creative work as focusing on narratives that highlight relationships between Black queer people. The account biography also indicates that they are based in London, England, and joined the platform in November 2023.

The development comes amid swirling online speculation regarding a supposed connection between KentOkwesa and Oseloka Obi, the son of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. According to social media chatter, the association sparked backlash from certain supporters of Obi, popularly referred to as “Obidients.”

In response to mounting pressure and alleged threats, the screenwriter’s posts were locked, making their profile inaccessible to the general public. A notification on their page now states: “These posts are protected. Only confirmed followers have access to @KentOkwesa’s posts and complete profile.”

The incident highlights growing concerns about online harassment and the intrusion of political fandom into the private lives of individuals loosely associated with public figures. Critics have argued that such behavior undermines the democratic spirit of political engagement, while also raising questions about the safety of queer voices in both political and digital spaces.

So far, there has been no official response from Oseloka Obi or his family regarding the online controversy or the alleged relationship claims fueling the threats.

Oyo empire status seem to cover only Dahomey, probably parts of Nupe and the bariba areas.

Ejegham people are from Ethiopia and other North Eastern tribes. That's where civilization started in Africa. When they migrated to the border between Camerooon and Nigerian, igbos, Efik, and Ibibio all learnt from them. The ejagham is not CROSSRIVER stuff. It came from northeast Africa and those people around there learnt from them.
