Politics2027: Ambode Pledges To Lead Tinubu’s Re-election Campaign In South-west by Slytiger(op): 9:11pm On Sep 03, 2025
Former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has pledged his commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, promising to lead the campaign in the South-West region.

Ambode made the pledge in Badagry, Lagos, during a sensitisation programme on Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration. He urged residents to register and collect their PVCs ahead of the general elections.

Speaking through the Director-General of the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, the former governor said President Tinubu had laid a strong foundation for Nigeria’s growth and deserved a second term to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.

President Bola Tinubu has proven his capacity to lead this country with vision and courage. I call on Lagosians and Nigerians at large to ensure he gets a second term in 2027 so we can all continue to benefit from his progressive leadership,” Ambode said.

He also reiterated his intention to seek a return as governor of Lagos State, promising to build on past gains while addressing present realities.

The sensitisation programme, according to organisers, is aimed at mobilising residents for active participation in the democratic process. “Our message is clear: no PVC, no voting. The group is committed to house-to-house sensitisation to ensure every eligible voter in Lagos registers and collects their voter card,” Bamigbade stated.

The event drew community leaders, youth groups, and other stakeholders who pledged support for both President Tinubu and Ambode ahead of the 2027 elections.

PoliticsDelta Govt Official Asks Lady Saying Igbos Developed Asaba A Question by Slytiger(op): 3:47pm On Sep 03, 2025
Why can't you develop your state?

The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has expressed disappointment in a post on X, claiming that the Igbos developed Asaba, the capital of oil-rich Delta State.

The claim was made by a user named Chinee Okoloigwe, who alleged that Asaba was developed due to the migration of Igbo men from neighbouring Onitsha.

@chineekol said, "Asaba is like that developed extension of Onitsha by Onitsha residents that they abandoned Onitsha for.

If not for the Onitsha residents, Asaba wouldn't be the developed Asaba of today."

In response, Ovie Success wondered why Onitsha people cannot develop their state but choose to migrate to Asaba.

He said, "I am disappointed in you for this statement. Why can't you guys develop your state?"

In another post, he wrote, "Asaba is more developed than your state at the moment. Best place for business, Health, Tourism, Education and security."

Other X users also waded in to disprove the claim that Igbos developed Asaba.

@davovia said, "Igbos are their own undoing. There is something typically wrong with the way you are all wired mentally. Arrogating what belongs to others and finding yourself always interfering in people's affairs is why you are hated everywhere."

@IgnatusOnianwa said, 'The postulation that Onitsha boys developed Asaba is a shallow argument that jettisons other important factors. The question is what attracted the so-called Onitsha boys to come to Asaba? There is something unique about the town that warrants them to come."

@papacharlesoge said, "Did we build any roads or hospitals? We give ourselves too much credit. Ndi Onitsha simply capitalised on the developmental stride of the Delta state government and the safety in Asaba. I know a couple of people already coming back to Onitsha because of the bad road."

@gozie_recon said, "This is a false submission, though recent findings by Realtors show that there's a good percentage of investors from Igbo tribes. A lot of people from other tribes have a good amount of investment in the city. You can't say Nigerians developed the UK just because of high immigration."

PoliticsNigerian Professionals, Families Stranded As U.S. Cancels Visas’ by Slytiger(op): 10:09am On Sep 01, 2025
The United States Embassy in Nigeria has quietly begun revoking valid visas previously issued to Nigerian citizens, leaving professionals, entrepreneurs, frequent travellers, and families stranded with disrupted plans and mounting costs.

Former Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, Olufemi Soneye, made this know in an article yesterday titled: ‘The quiet revocation: Why is the U.S. silently cancelling Nigerians’ visas?’

According to him, several affected individuals have confirmed receiving official letters from the embassy in recent weeks, instructing them to submit their passports at the consulate in Lagos or Abuja. Upon submission, their visas were summarily cancelled without explanation.

The cancellation notices, citing Title 22, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 41.122, vaguely stated that “new information became available after the visa was issued,” but provided no details, evidence, or avenues for appeal.

Among those impacted are a prominent journalist, the head of a federal government agency scheduled to deliver an international address, and an Abuja-based entrepreneur with a spotless travel record. Others include professionals and frequent travellers who rely on visas for education, family reunions, medical treatment, and critical business engagements.

Several were forced to cancel overseas trips at short notice, refund tickets, and explain to partners why they could no longer attend important meetings.

In some cases, travellers only discovered the cancellations at airports and boarding gates, with a few briefly detained by immigration officials before being turned back.

Despite the gravity of the situation, the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria nor Nigerian authorities have issued a public statement addressing the wave of cancellations, leaving affected citizens in limbo.

Those affected insist they have never overstayed visas, violated immigration rules, or raised security concerns. The sudden revocations have therefore sparked growing fears of a quiet but targetted tightening of U.S. visa policy against Nigerians.

Analysts point to longstanding scrutiny of applicants from high-migration countries, with Nigeria often singled out.

Policy documents from previous U.S. administrations encouraged consular officers to apply heightened review standards to certain nationalities, raising concerns that the current wave of cancellations may be a continuation of that practice.

PoliticsNo Nigerian Is Second Class, No Region Is Left Behind - President Tinubu by Slytiger(op): 6:12am On Sep 01, 2025
Dear Nigerians,

I took an oath to serve all Nigerians, not a section. That oath guides every bridge, road, rail, power, and health project we deliver.

From the Lagos–Calabar Highway in the South to the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway in the North; from Port Harcourt–Maiduguri rail in the East to Abuja–Kaduna–Kano expressway in the Centre, and the Trans-Saharan highway connecting African countiries, these are not local trophies. They are our national assets.

Health centres are being rehabilitated nationwide, light rail projects in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos & Ogun have been given the green light, 250,000 jobs are being created, power is returning to Kaduna through the revived 255MW power plant, bridges in Onitsha & Bonny reconnect our people, oil exploration is expanding in Bauchi & Gombe, and the AKK pipeline has crossed the Niger.

Every farmer who needs a road, every trader who needs power, every child who needs a school, every patient who needs care… this is who we are building for.

This is the equity of Renewed Hope. No Nigerian is second class, no region is left behind. Together we will rise as one nation, one people, and one destiny.

Bet on Nigeria.

~ President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Godfullsam:
Several election results have shown that anyone can win an election without the south east.

If any region should be boasting of not voting for a candidate, it should not be the SE .
The SE votes in any election has little or not effect.
Buhari won twice without the SE votes, balablu won in 2023 without significant votes from SE

The SE can't threaten anyone with their votes.
In fact, those candidates that got massive votes from that region always lose election.
💯.
Buhari did it twice.
Tinubu has done it once and would be twice in 2027.
