InvestmentRe: What Are Some Unpopular Opinions About Personal Finance/investing? by Slyzen(m): 4:44pm On Feb 17, 2021
Invest in yourself first (e.g. financial knowledge, marketable skills, etc.) before investing a penny into any external investment.

Everything in business and investment revolves around you and your decision-making. The better you are as a person, the better you can do in business. Inpatient people would not agree to this, but time will always tell.

In 10 years or 20 years time, you'd see the difference between those who invested in themselves first and those who like taking hasty uninformed decisions.

Just take a look at people like Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, etc. These are people who chose to invest in themselves first, and now they are the best in their respective field.

Don't just take my word for it. If you're reading this right now, test it for yourself. Choose one field or area of expertise you love. Develop yourself in that field either through schooling, self-education, or apprenticeship for the next 5 years. Endeavor to learn all you can and try to be the best in doing that thing. Come back in 5 to 10 years and you'll notice the world of difference between you and many others who choose to pursue money without investing in themselves first. Just try it and see for yourself.

Self development is the basis of all human endeavor.

This is an unpopular opinion and only few people subscribe to it.

Why not employ female marketers to work for you? Pay them good commissions enough to motivate them and for you to at least get a profit per sale.

Your presence is enough.
They say the best gift you can give old people is company.
When you go to see her, give her much of your time and attention. It'll make her happy.

Does she have any animal? Goats, chickens, dog....
She has goats, chickens, a dog and a cat.

When you get to town

Get her fruits like apples, provisions like Milo and milk, get her cakes and gala, get her sweetened cracker biscuits, bottle of grand nuts, Hollandia youghut the white one and small size of chi exotic juice and dash her little money

With 5000 you can get all these
Thanks. She doesn't need those things. I want to give her something memorable that'll have her thinking of me for a long time. As someone suggested up there, maybe I'll get an artist to draw a portrait of both of us together. And I also hope she'll say some blessings wink

Out of experience, if you should buy fabrics, shoe or slippers she might not use them. My grandmother would store them down her box. So my humble suggestions is that you get her bread, cabin biscuits and beverages. When you are ready to leave the village give her some money.
She doesn't eat those. She literally selects her bread. I think she eats only wheat bread. As for cash, she has enough and has no need. Her househelp do help her spend the money.

My grandma is about 90 years and still so beautiful. I'm her favorite grandchild but we've not seen each other for over 8 years now. I love her and miss her so much.

I would like to travel and pay her a visit. Can anyone suggest ideas for a gift that may be suitable for her? I need ideas for a special gift that can create a strong connection between us.
RomanceRe: Have You Ever Dated A Random Lady You Approached On The Street? by Slyzen(m): 11:32pm On Dec 08, 2020
Twice. I met one at the ATM queue, she was petite and cute. We lasted about 3 months. The other I met at a provision store. I made a little banter and found out she was doing small shopping for her birthday. Coincidentally, my birthday was just a few days back, and we joked about being birthday mates. I was invited to her birthday and we started dating thereafter. It lasted about 3 months as well. Both relationships were fun, but the ladies were just out to explore. I couldn't care less as I know the true nature of women in that age bracket.
RomanceRe: RELATIONSHIP In Nigeria Is All About The Money by Slyzen(m): 7:07pm On Dec 07, 2020
That's why every man needs to set his own rule of engagement. What works for one may not necessarily work for the other. While some men have stuck to their guns and are willing to kiss a lot of toads to find their princess, others have given up and allowed themselves to be swallowed by "quickie" relationships funded by "urgent 2k".

RomanceDoes Zodiac Signs Really Matter For Love Relationships? by Slyzen(op): 5:46pm On Dec 06, 2020
Coming from a Christian background, I've always written off the impact of Zodiac signs on compatibility in love relationships. However, through the years, I have seen many repeated patterns in my relationships to think that maybe some people are just better for me while others are not, based on their date of birth.

So, what do you guys think? Does Zodiac signs really matter?

Lower your expectations, live day by day, be grateful for who you are right now and what you have right now. Be honest to yourself and others about the weight of responsibility you can handle. Once in a while, take a stroll around your neighborhood and give tokens to beggars and less privileged around you. Meditate. Pray.

If you are interested in a job that gives you the freedom of exploring the beauty of Africa while getting some job experience out of Nigeria, then why not? To earn that kind of figure in Nigeria, you would work your ass out like no tomorrow and your employers would be expecting you to worship them.

BusinessRe: Is " No N10 Change " The New Trend In Nigeria? by Slyzen(m): 6:35pm On Dec 01, 2020
The less commodity a particular currency denomination is able to purchase, the less its demand and availability. If you want to have more N10 notes in circulation, create more commodities that can be purchased for that price. This doesn't seem to be the case in Nigeria. In the U.S. a cup of starbucks coffee takeaway cost less than $5. in Nigeria, you'd get that for 1k or more. angry

1. Know what you want to become
2. Write down a daily plan that increases your chances of becoming that person

4. Don't neglect the God factor

RomanceRe: Five Reasons Why You Should Marry An Imo Girl? by Slyzen(m): 8:36pm On Nov 27, 2020
I believe only small minds buy into stereotypes that are based off of geolocations. Good women are everywhere, likewise bad women. There are women in Sokoto that are more beautiful, more intelligent, more creative, and more resourceful than some women in the western world. It depends on where and what you are looking at. If you need a good woman, then you should create or join a network that breeds and rewards good women. As long as you remain and operate under the opinion of the larger society, you'll always be a casualty of that society. Good and evil abounds in every corner of the earth, but a few men have learned to create barricaded societies guarded with righteousness and justice so that good may prevail. Maybe, I should just send this as a WhatsApp Status Message to a particular person who needs to see this wink

The most important thing about love relationships is to find someone who has the required character to understand your life's journey, complement your life's purpose and be able to create as many happy moments with you that are worth reminiscing. Any other thing is a bonus, because when you sit on your rocking chair at 70, nothing physical in your partner will be attractive any more. Maybe, I should just send this as a love status message on WhatsApp. Someone needs to see this wink

There is no scarcity anywhere my dear. It's just a function of your mentality. Your mentality determines your associates and the community you choose to belong to. Develop your mentality and you'll naturally be inclined to places where respectable people are in abundance. People of substance who would cherish you, respect you and help you grow.
RomanceRe: Help My Brother by Slyzen(m): 8:01pm On Nov 24, 2020
Daniwak:
I decided to bring this to nairaland because my brother is confused. He's not really a church person or spiritually inclined person. Though he believes in God. He has a gf whom he loved so much. Earlier last year, they started having issues. Quarrels here and there. The lady even told my brother "every little thing about the relationship annoys her for no reason" simply because he doesn't take her out. Though he gives her money regularly and pay her 80% of her bills. My brother wanted to propose to her last year but she told him not to do it. This made my brother worried & thinking. So one fateful morning on his way to work, a man doing morning cry approached him after his preaching and told him " the Lord knows how his heart is worried and sad. That d relationship he's in was d cause of his sadness". "That the woman GOD destined for him was a resourceful woman that will build him up". " that the woman is more richer than him". He gave my brother portion of bible to pray about with a prayer point "wherever his destined wife is on d phase of d planet should come to him". My brother prayed for a month and became tired. He said the prophesy was fake. All these happened March 2020. He's even forgotten about the prophecy. Earlier this month on Twitter, a lady followed him, he followed back. They began chatting and now they have falling love. This babe is rich than my bro. The salary my bro earns is just 90k with nothing to account for. But since this particular gal came into his life, she advised him on a business to venture in. My brother did, and d business is thriving. The lady is a half cast. Partly Nigeria & partly Belgium. THEY HAVEN'T MET BEFORE, SHE WOULD BE COMING TO NIGERIA FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY TO SEE HER RELATIVES & ALSO MY BROTHER.
THE ISSUE NOW IS MY BROTHER THINKS SERIOUSLY SHE'S THE ONE THAT WAS PROPHESIED ABOUT. Help I don't want him to enter wrong hands again. Relationship doesn't favour him
It could be true. I remember I use to think that all prophesies were fake until it happened to me.

A particular evangelist preaching by the road side met me one day and said I would experience a financial windfall. I didn't believe him. He even asked me for money but I didn't give him even though I had it. I thought he was just a street beggar using preaching to beg. You wouldn't believe me, the happiest day of my life happened just one week after. The prophesy was true shocked
