You know nothing about lecturing ranks and it's salaries. If you indeed ask a friend who is a lecturer, ask him again what his salary is and his rank. How can you even say L1 is after AL? How can you say the increment is just 20 to 30k? Ask your friend about CATA if truly you have a lecturer as a friend.

By the time you become a Reader, you're heading for Professor which will be determined by many factors.

A Lecturer 2 salary isn't up to 300k. Please quote me anywhere. Ask anyone you know. As for the allowances, it's based on your institution where you work. This has nothing to do with FG.

My friend is a Lecturer 1 which is the next position after Assistant Lecturer at Futo and he's not earning up to 300k even with the recent increment. What's with the 20-30k government adds on salary and claim they have increased salaries

From what I heard, when the reorg is concluded, vacuum will be created. I was told the reorg is concluded, however the vacuum created is still within the top tier positions like supervisors, etc. These vacuum have to be filled to shift it down to the bottom tier hence creating openings for the new recruits. The top tier vacuum haven't been filled yet

From this explanation now, do you mean they would still recruit again aside this ongoing recruitment

You are missing the point. Someone said that HR called, and another said it is a lie, that HR will send a general message. I simply asked those who have gotten to the final stage which is the medicals to confirm if they got any call from HR. This will truly confirm if the process is alive or not.

And that was my first point. We all didn't apply for the same role. The fact that Mr A received call doesn't mean Mr B won't receive maybe later. The roles are different and the timelines for calls might be different too

People applied for different roles so you don't expect the call to be general. The timelines might differ just as timelines differ during interviews. If you have done Medicals you have nothing to panic about. 99% of those who did Medicals would get the job. If people vying for same roles with you have done Medicals and you weren't reached out to it means you didn't cross the interview stage

A friend who had done interview and background check was called today by HR if he was still available and to reassure him that the process is still on

At FAAN, the Children Education Allowance and Furniture Allowance does not form part of the basic payroll item.

The Children Education Allowance is paid to the staff at certain point in time within the financial year while the furniture allowance (grant) is amortized and paid to staff every four years.

I agree with you. I think some agencies actually do this. But I know the allowances isn't as much as people see it. It doesn't commensurate with economic reality

All these allowances are included in the total monthly package. It's the payslip that can specifically tell you the allowances of most of these agencies

You don't need to do any medicals again except they expressly reach out to you to do another medicals. For the people in your category, all you need is just patience and you'll get the final feedback. In most cases, 99% of those who did Medicals get the job.

We honestly need to be extra careful as we are seeking for opportunities. Sorry to tell you this, so long as you haven't gotten your original appointment letter you are still hanging and you haven't gotten job until you've gotten appointment letter and done the necessary documentation.

No, as long as no one has been contacted for Medicals for that role then the process is still on. But for those roles that have had their medicals done and you were not contacted, please just move on. It means you didn't cross the interview stage.

What I'm saying in essence is that if you're certain no one has been contacted for Medicals for the role you applied for then just put your mind at ease but if otherwise just move on. Please don't limit yourself to nairaland alone for information.

Again, I believe Chevron will get back to those who have done medicals regardless of how long it takes.

If you didn't do medicals, please lower your expectations it simply means you didn't pass the previous interview

In Chevron, once your medical is over a year, you will had to renew it (update it). I believe those that have done it a year ago are mandated to do it again since it has been a year ago they did it.

That's true, FFD lasts for a year and it's over a year now since they did it so I believe they can be asked for an updated medical records

I would advise you use your 5 years of experience as this would help you max out on the points for experience. I believe you've done your WES so whatsoever you evaluated during your WES is what you're using for the PNP. They don't recognise professional certificate not gotten from Canada or the province itself. Your MSc or MBA will do.

They don't recognise professional certificate. Your masters is enough with your years of work experience, that's all you need.
Major Criteria that gives you points
1. Age
2. Years of work experience—either inside or outside Canada
3. Highest qualification

The minimum required point is 63 out of 110 points total. I can't remember th exact point I might be wrong on this

Try out Sask PNP. The requirements are quite easy. I'm also in the Sask PNP pool
