Mr. Muric, no one is reducing the so called Muslim population deliberately as u opine. U even made assertions of a majority number of Muslims over other religions in the country without any officially valid data source. U went on to reveal your religious bigotry in ur failed analysis of a pandemic situation that requires empirical solutions and logical recommendations, without noting that incompetence of the governor in states like Kano cannot yield any positive result in the fight against COVID 19. Let me ask you, that's if u will ever think through issues with intelligence....of what use is an extremely poor 'religious population' to the society? if a given population aren't enjoying quality wellbeing in all aspects of life including socioeconomic fortunes of what use is their existence? Wouldn't a neglected population rather become a platform for societal decadence, illiteracy, violence, insecurituly, and moral rot etc? I doubt if u merited your professorship Mr. Spokesman... probably u were given the promotion based on ur University's cover-up measures to improve the records of their staff strength in order to gain accreditation in your department. You are a negative influence on society. I spit on your sense of reasoning Sir. |
Very commendable..although it's caption as a mobile lab depicted that it could be moved around, but on reading the content that's not what is gonna happen. Weldone to the genuine efforts of very few governors. |
He should also lock down any monetary request from that greedy governor. All FG support to his state should be provided in substance, not money. The man shouldn't be kept close to monies, cos he is an addict to anything currency |
It's not everyone who is tested for Covid 19 that is sane enough to logically know that self isolation and subsequently if confirmed positive, presenting yourself to the authorities for treatment is necessary to have a chance of survival. Many persons up north lack formal education and are extremely poor, so ignorance of the grave danger of their action may have played out here... therefore, the authorities in Nigeria so profile properly the calibre of people being tested for Covid 19, with special emphasis on their educational background or exposure b4 advising on self isolation for such individuals... quarantining those of questionable profile maybe the best moving forward. Las Las those Abokis don go squat for somewhere dey polish shoes, wetin concern them |
If with all the movement restrictions and lockdown measures put in place, we still have got more cases and in states which had no cases previously reported, whose history showed the infected individuals migrated from other states which are supposedly having movement restrictions too, it only means our security agencies are terrible, complicit with frustrating containment measures, greedy and corrupt...how else can u explain this kind of situation? To even begin repackaging naija will be a future impossible tense...I hope we get out of this shit soon |
How can helpless citizens help a government? U wanted independence and claimed u could rule your nation and u got it, wasted the opportunities to develop your system and uplift you citizens, wasted the future of promising citizens, and left the poor without hope while enriching the political class, yet u are asking for help from Nigerians...how? Just imagine this reckless statement...Nigeria wasn't among the first set of countries which experienced the Covid 19 outbreak early...we had all the time to take precautions and also set up ourselves technically and otherwise with adequate response measures...Now here we are listening to garbage and yet we have cases running in their hundreds undiagnosed and unexplained deaths in some parts of the country. It's an insult for anyone to refer to this country as great....infact we should all be given a chance to choose if possible if we still want to be Nigerians, because it seems like we will never get things right. Since u have run out of kits, and u have no idea how to judiciously use the donations in billions, then u are indirectly telling us to face whatever we see....thank you Nigeria, u didn't disappoint our fears |
As much as I am convinced about God's healing power and the role of God's annointed ones in praying down the power of God on the sick to get them healed, but I disagree that one must be present in the isolation centres before your healing prayers will work? If u want to intercede, pls do it in secret, but if you must go public, there are ICT platforms you may take advantage of...Science is doing a lot at this period to combat this viral disease and understand it's virulence better. If you are allowed as u have requested and u become infected, you'll still be at the mercy of health care givers on the frontline whose God given knowledge and skills is critical for health emergencies like this...pls don't mislead urself and gullible religious minds. The Bible illustrating the role of faith in healing stated in Matthew. 8:5-13 about a centurion Jesus met when he entered Capernaum. The centurion wanted Jesus to heal his servant who was paralysed and when Jesus opted to go with him, he told Jesus not to bother following him home but to just speak the word and his servant will be healed. When Jesus heard this he was amazed and said to those following him, that truely He had not seen such great faith in Israel and guess what, Jesus asked the centurion to go and receive the miracle he demanded for his servant according to his faith. The Bible recorded that at that very moment, the centurion's servant was healed. God's power can heal from anywhere, and that's a fact, so no one needs to be at an isolation centre to perform such miracle. |
So this Governor has finally learnt how to address issues with decorum. I have no problem with his measures to prevent the introduction or spread of the virus in his state but it's appalling, the way he usually attempts to be high-handed and insulting to residents of the state, issuing constant threats and dishing out harsh and useless bans on newsmen as his heart pleases based on any dissenting opinion...he should understand that even the Lagos State governor who is managing a more serious threat with the virus continues to be civil and persuasive in his approach in order to get the full understanding and cooperation of those he governs. The backlash this Ebonyi governor has been faced with after his useless ban of selected journalists, seems to have repaired his ego but either way, he has revealed his true dictatorial nature to Nigerians, and we won't forget. |
So until the NCDC comes to ur aid or the FG gives u N15 billion, as a governor of an economically viable state you can't mobilize funds as a state to increase and equip ur testing facilities, as well as upgrade ur testing capacity? but when it comes to elections, you won't sleep until u unleash violence and deliver millions of rigged votes just to be on the good pages of ur political benefactors and loot the treasury...man's inhumanity to man is typified in most Nigerian politicians. You guys can watch yourselves get destroyed by the virus, since you don't have a date to resume testing...they are talking as though they are being begged to do the needful...bunch of fools in government. |
What an idiotic and very careless government. Its obvious that there are quite a large number of suspected cases in that state, and since the governor was reluctant initially to do the right things in order to safeguard the citizens of the state, he feels too ashamed to face the backlash and criticisms that will follow should the number of cases keep rising due to sufficient testing. Probably he also don't want to loose monies he gets from the operational activities of the oil company in his state, so he will go at all length to paint a false picture of a safe and healthy state. It's a shame that this has cost the State epidemiologist his Job, but a wake up call for professional bodies to sanction anyone amongst them appointed by government but going against professional ethics in the discharge of their duties just to satisfy their pay masters. |
So the youths went ahead to organize a 'Corona football tournament' in their various communities rather than a Corona virus sensitization. No wonder they are doing so well in the real NCDC Corona virus diagnosis league table. I think rather than states to depend wholely on the federal government for basic interventions, they should mobilize their funds and big private sectors operating within the state to begin installation and upgrade of critical infrastructures, cos a state government is a level of government too. Subsequently when the federal government steps in, it will just enhance what they are doing. Its a shame that so many states prior to and up till now had no single molecular lab, which are even necessary for universities within such states offering courses in the biological and medical sciences for molecular research...The Nigerian situation is just tiring to discuss to be honest |
This Governor has demonstrated quality leadership in the face of this pandemic.. I must commend him for his hardwork and eye for excellent facilities. Wishing quick recovery to all those infected and big ups to the health workers in the front line. |
The road will be so long before we get back our society like it has always been. My sincere prayer is that let innocent citizens not fall to this virus, since we didn't have it in our powers originally to influence major decisions...however, we need to learn the lessons to improve humanity in all aspects, else whenever such pandemics hits again, we or our next generations will still be telling the same tales. Stay safe people |

From the video, to think the said man who had this very unprofessional conduct did that with his bare hands without gloves and was seen transferring one hand towards his nose area, shows he doesn't even understand the risk factors and mechanism of transmission of the virus. Now what becomes of the car he kept leaning towards? Wouldn't that constitute a formite for the spread of such virus if innocent Nigerians around such vicinity decide to rest themselves around such car? For me, public health guards were let down by the NCDC in all arrangements for the burial, and this should not be repeated if we must contain the spread of COVID 19. |
More testing is now revealing community spread of the virus...it's a difficult time for everyone at the moment, so I expect government to review their palliatives to cover all families cos we have the resources in excess...let's not pretend about this, Nigeria is a wealthy nation, but since the black man doesn't believe his compatriots deserve to be comfortable, they tell u we have a fighting spirit so we can nod in affirmation and continue to suffer while calling it hussling....it's time for everyone to eat from the nation's wealth abeg cos this are hard times. |

What a shame! In Nigeria, the value of life is Zero, and this has gradually become a societal thing where more lives are lost by factors like security forces high-handedness, miscreants, communal clashes, domestic violence, elections, cultism, terrorism/banditry, accidents, poor medical care, hunger/starvation, natural disasters, ritual killings, abortions, illicit drug abuse, armed robbery, fire outbreaks, airforce mis-timed bombings, etc., than natural disasters and pandemics. The annoying thing is that everyone moves on after about 48hours of ranting. Little wonder why the government treats pensioners so badly in Nigeria, cos the system probably never expected them to survive till that age....what a shame! |
I'm quite sure there must be a justifiable reason for such declaration by the Governor. However, if it comes to inefficiency and misgovernance, this Governor must also be declared wanted |
This is a huge shame and an insult on the populace which they govern. To think in all of Nigeria, it took this pandemic to awaken government on basic health necessities, and even with donations, we can see the reluctance among our leaders to do the right things. Since we have abused democracy in this part of the world and everything governance represents, we are truely on a long road to having a sane society. My people, do what u can to improve ur chances to leave this shithole, cos it's not gonna get better even with the next generation cueing up to lead...the black man is his own problem |
NCDC, let's know how many were tested per day in each state where they were suspected cases, and how many cases got confirmed. It's terrible that we are in this ugly situation, and honestly it may take a while before all returns to normalcy worldwide. However it is, thumbs up to everyone working in the front line, and lastly let those Chinese doctors who offered to help, remain rather in China to write up an explanation to the world on this mess they've caused the world. We don't need them |
The 5 confirmed cases in Akwa Ibom lays credence to the fact that we really have community cases far spread in Nigeria. The inability of the NCDC to conduct many test around shouldn't fool us that we have less cases in the country. The worst part of this is that many asymptomatic cases are walking free while infecting others. The Government has placed us all in a difficult situation, and with the way things are going, we'll need to stay safe with whatsoever template that works for each individual, so we'll not be included in this mess. |
That sum won't be enough for a 3years programme which could shoot beyond 3years in some cases based on unique or mitigating circumstances. Remember if it's a science related discipline, u will need bench fees, and in some UK universities it is about £5,000 per year. You can give it a try though if you have a spouse who could join u while working full time to support you or if u can get a research assistant position in your Uni. Either ways, some European or Western universities could offer some partial funding for your programme which you can explore...if you are cut out for a future in research and academics, then give it a go, but u must begin to explore ur potentials for a long term stay in the UK, Europe or an advanced country, else you may not get a mega renumeration anywhere in Africa, except as a special consultant in a really big multinational or UN related agency. |
I have genuinely had concerns over the figures being rolled out by the NCDC. It has become worse since many of those tested are political elites, so it appears that powerful forces in the country are controlling the information fed to the public. How can in a day, 2 cases will be reported before 7am, and that's all for that day. It speaks volume, about the country's disregard to disseminate honest information to its citizens. Stay safe people. |
Hello all, I'll pls want to know if the Dept. of Geology UNN, being the interview centre for Enugu, is in the Enugu campus of UNN or Nsukka. That is my interview venue and I'm not so familiar with the institution. Thanks |
