Here's why I want you to apply logic:

The people of Luhansk and Donetsk never complained of being isolated or discrimated upon. Eastern-Ukrainian and the rest lived in harmony before Putin emerged the leader of Russia in 2012. And that's people that had existed for centuries. No war. No argument.

Check anywhere, there was never rioting nor discriminatory incitations between these people until 2012 and beyond.

Ukraine has been stomaching Russia's evils under Dmitry Medvedev and her predecessors but Vladimir Putin was more devilish.

The former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych was his pet boy. Putin tricked him into committing so much blunders against his people. For example, the changing of the Ukrainian article 111 of the constitution to enable him rule unopposed.

Awarding of Crimea (One of the richest part of the country) to Russia in exchange of 30% gas deduction.

Which led to the Euromadan crisis where the people revolted angrily and later led to removal of the president from the presidential palace. Then he ran into hiding Russia .

Putin used the crisis to annex the Donbass region while still using the Eastern-Ukraine who he termed Pro-Russia to riot against the removal of Viktor Yanukovych from office. For another man country ooo.

Since the take-over of Donbass, Putin has been causing several atrocities which even United States and other European Union have tried to settle but to no avail.

First, the Minsk 1 agreement championed by France and Germany representing the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) failed in 2014, and Minsk 2 agreement also held in Belarus failed again in 2015.

Why do these agreements failed?

Ukraine wants ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weaponry and full Ukrainian government control throughout the conflict zone of the region (Donbass).

Russia wants autonomy of Donbass. Russia wants this region to govern itself and to its own affairs because Russia is confident that here, the people are Russian speaking and they are pro Russians. So it'll be easy for Russia to exercise military and political influence.

On the other hand, Ukraine is aware of this. That is why it is against the autonomy of Donbass. Also, Donbass region is one of the prosperous industrialized regions of Ukraine before the conflict.

Similarly, even the Crimea peninsula is one of the prosperous industrialized regions of Ukraine and the inputs from these regions towards Ukraine's industrial production was very high.

That being said, there have been so much killings in that region since Putin came in 2012 and recognized the area as part of Russia and must be run against the will of Ukrainian government.

Putin sponsored rebels have been taking planes down in airports located in Luhansk and Donetsk. Talk about the Malaysia Flight 17, the Ilyushin 76 transport aircraft of the 25th transport aviation brigade of the Ukrainian air force, steady shelling and bombing of Ukrainian soldiers and so much more atrocities.

So if you're being logical and not allowing emotions take the lead, you'll know that Putin is only being GREEDY! While using Pro-Russians to save face.

I repeat, Ukraine has been coexisting without any complains for centuries. Why must it be since he came into office? There are so many whys. That's why all the European nations are throwing in sanctions.
