Let me share the little insight I have on this topic as told by someone who attended the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA).

As a military trainee studying in the NDA, the Nigerian government bears the entire cost of your study and training as well as feeding and other sundry expenses throughout the duration of your stay.

Aside the training cost, you are also paid some allowance during the NDA period. I'm not sure right now if the allowance is monthly or quarterly, but it's periodic and I understand it is substantial.

Your parents/guardian/sponsor can choose not to spend a dime on you for the duration of the training. (Dude even said he could afford to send money from his allowance to his siblings in other schools).

After the huge investment on you by the government, it is expected you give back to the Nigerian state through your military service.

So back to your question, you are not allowed to resign unless the conditions below are true:

1) You've given a reasonable length of military service, which is quite lengthy. This can come in form of retirement.

2) Deformity (often caused during combat) which can prevent you from effective discharge of your duty as a military officer

3) Serious health reasons which could be mental, psychological, physical etc, but this has to be proven.

4) You can also be allowed to resign on compassionate grounds, but the reason has to be very compelling to your superiors for them to grant your request for approval.

There may be other reasons, but quitting without approval is not taken lightly by the military, you'll be treated as a deserter and this may attracts grave/serious consequences.

Please what is the process of renewing a drivers license that is expiring soon in Lagos?

Some online account say it cost about N16,000 while another says it costs N6,350 but none provided details of the process required for the renewal.

We've got the time to to follow through with the process and may not be needing a 3rd party to carry out the process on our behalf.

Since you appear highly uninformed, let me educate you a bit. The Bayelsa gubernatorial election is a contest between an ex-governor in the person of Sylva - who was a governor for over 4 years and before then a speaker of the state assembly - and the incumbent governor Dickson who is seeking re-election. In this situation you do expect a landslide victory irrespective of party affiliations because both contestants are from the state and hold or have held very prominent positions in recent past so you expect each one of them to have there strongholds and loyalist.

Again the outcome of presidential elections are always different in pattern from that of gubernatorial election. For you to base your judgment on the outcome of the guber election in Bayelsa vis-avis that of the presidential election in the south east shows how shallow your thoughts are.

1) The cost of the new number plate

2) Must I submit the old plate number before I can get the new one?

Get a copy of your friend's driving license,the custom papers and have the engine number written out and go to the nearest Licensing office in Lagos and have the vehicle dully registered.
The cost would varies between N40k - N45k and below are the docs you are to get.

Allocation of plate number form
Plate number Tag
CMR and information required issued by the police
Insurance papers
Road worthiness
Proof of Ownership

I have the Chasis number (The number at the base of the windshield by the drivers side), guess it's called VIN, but I haven't been able to decipher where the engine number is engrossed. Hello all,

A friend of mine who lives in PH just bought a vehicle from Cotonou through a dealer based in Cotonou. He (my friend) has been redeployed to Lagos by his employer effective next year, so he is relocating to Lagos Mid January and wants the vehicle registered in Lagos with a Lagos number and he wants me to handle the registration for him. The vehicle was duly cleared, so duty and other payments were duly paid before bringing the vehicle in.

Kindly guide me on the process of registering the vehicle. I have been to Oceanic bank for the AutoReg but they said they cannot handle the registration because it is a newly purchased vehicle and has not been registered before, unfortunately the attendant at the bank couldn't direct me on the proper vehicle registration procedure, or the office that handles it.
