The UK Embassy in Nigeria has adopted a new visa application process, the British High Commission said in a statement on Friday.

The spokesperson of the commission, Joe Abuku, described the new process as a slight change in which “Visa staff now only need electronic versions of support documents.”

The new process, which takes effect from December 5 for customers applying for a UK visa in Lagos, Victoria Island and Ikeja, would bring applicants benefits from digital improvements to the UK visa application process.

“TLSContact (responsible for UK Visa Application Centres in Nigeria) will scan your supporting documents whilst you’re at the visa application centre, and then return your original documents to you,” the statement said.

“They will then send these (electronic) documents to UKVI, with your passport and application form, and visa officers will consider your application in the usual way.

In order to avoid delays in the visa application centre, the Commission requested applicants to ensure they complied with requirement to provide all documents in A4 size, while any other documents smaller or larger than A4 should be photocopied onto A4 sized paper.

While advising all customers to remove any clips or pins from documents before submitting their application, the Commission warned that any torn, crumpled or heavily creased documents, which is difficult to photocopy, should be photocopied onto A4 sized paper before submitted, as they can’t be scanned in this condition.

A Nigerian, who styled himself as Pastor Ernest Chigozie Mbanefo is the mastermind of the suspected Ponzi scheme known as MMM Nigeria, NAN is reporting.

Online sources say Mbanefo is based in South Africa.

Nigerian Communications Week said Mbanefo registered the site MMM-Nigeria.net domain on June 7, 2016 about at about 5 pm Nigerian time.

NAN quoting NCW And Pageone report written as far back as September said Mbanefo made a single year domain payment. The domain will expire on June 7, 2017. It was also revealed that MMM Nigeria is not part of MMM Global – a Russian company that was responsible for one of the world’s largest Ponzi schemes in the 1990s.

MMM Global was founded by Russian politician Sergei Mavrodi, his brother Vyacheslav Mavrodi and Olga Melnikova. The name of the company was taken from the first letters of the three founders’ surnames (MMM) But like MMM Global, the Nigerian scheme is also a pyramid marketing scheme where an investor gets a 30 per cent return on investment.

Around the world, MMM is feared. In January 2016 the Chinese government banned MMM on the grounds that it is a pyramid scheme, (Ponzi scheme), and it is not registered in the country (and as a fraudulent scheme cannot be registered. MMM recently crashed in Zimbabwe: Thousands of ‘Mavrodians’ in Zimbabwe were left in tears when the scheme crashed, losing tens of thousands of their lifetime savings.

PageOne gave Mbanefo’s address as 1 ROYAL STREET, LINDBERG PARK, JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA. According to Page One, on the 15th of July, Ernest was awarded a certificate of completion of an online course titled ‘MMM Guiders School’. The certificate was supposedly signed by Sergei Mavrodi himself. He has since given himself the nickname the ‘Super Guider of MMM’. To share news and information about MMM, Ernest also operates a subdomain ‘news.mmm-nigeria.net. The site praises him and projects him as the leader of the Ponzi Scheme in Nigeria.

He is described as:

Horrifying footage has emerged showing the moment a circus trainer was mauled to death by one of his Lions during a live show in Egypt.

Trainer Islam Shaheen, 35, was filmed motioning at a lion with a stick as another lion climbed up a ladder during the performance in Alexandria.

At that moment, a third lion launches a savage attack on the trainer, rearing up and biting him in the neck as watching children scream in terror.

Other trainers rushed to try and help Shaheen, lying helpless on the ground, by poking the lion with sticks, but the Lion seemed hell bent on its mission.

Shaheen was rushed to Andalusian Salam hospital but died later from his injuries.
He had worked as a circus trainer for ten years according to his brother.

Mohammed Mustafa, the circus spokesman, said the attack happened as the lion was in the mating season and so behaving erratically.

We all know how obsessed women can be about proposals. Not necessarily marriage but proposals.

They love to exchange stories about how their boyfriend’s went overboard to make sure she was presented with a ring in the most elaborate way. Some even warn their men about how glamorous and romantic they want their proposals to turn out, even if they were to act surprised. It’s like a competition and whoever has the most romantic proposal wins. Frankly, this is madness!

Talking with a few close friends of mine, they laid out their various complaints.

Man A said his girlfriend warned him not to propose to her in front of a huge crowd, even threatened to leave him if he does.

Man B said his girlfriend kept comparing him to her fried who recently got proposed to. saying that her now fiancé took her skydiving jet and proposed to her over Dubai while they jumped out of the plane. This particular guy can’t even climb to the top of a 15ft ladder because he is petrified of heights.

Man C said the diamond she expects should be as big as her grandmothers kneecap. He particularly told me that what he had budgeted for the engagement ring was roughly N100k.At most. Worse yet he had already bought the ring he wanted to proposed to her with the following week…. yawa.

From what I can conclude, these guys were panicking more about trying to impress their girlfriends rather than the actual reason why they wanted to propose. That was the problem.

Getting any man up to the point where he decides to spend the rest of his life with you takes a whole lot of patience. They why should everything rely on a petty proposal? The truth is only 12% of men in the world are NATURALLY romantic so if he decides to try and go as far as arranging a REASONABLE proposal then you should give him some kudos.

It’s not about how well, it’s about why he wanted to propose which is the whole idea entirely.

How safe is slimming tea?

Chinese diet tea, fasting tea, slimming tea, super dieter’s tea, weight loss tea… although the names are different, all promote a common message – drink this tea and you will lose weight.

Slimming tea has long been considered a great option for dieters. In fact, many companies have manufactured and distributed products labeled “Chinese diet tea” for those who wish to lose weight.

Perhaps the main reason for this production is that many believed that tea by itself carries close to zero calories per serving, and the caffeine content is potent enough to increase body function to help burn more calories. Also, it is believed that the polyphenols in tea seem to aid in the digestion of fat, truly making it a diet tea.

However, many experts noted that what you are actually drinking from these products is a plant based laxative that can cause certain disorders like diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, fainting, chronic constipation and perhaps even death when consumed in excessive amounts.

NAFDAC once stressed that the laxative teas and dietary supplements of most concern are those containing one or more of the substances, such as aloe, senna, rhubarb root, buckthorn, castor oil, and cascara.

These products are derived from plants and have been used since time immemorial for their ability to relieve constipation and promote bowel movements. They are deemed effective for such purposes with occasional use.

Numerous studies have shown that the laxative-induced diarrhea does not significantly reduce absorption of calories for the reason that laxatives don’t work in the small intestine, where the calories are absorbed.

It rather works on the colon, which is the lower end of the bowel. When Chinese diet tea is misused by steeping it longer than product labeling recommends, it can lead to short term and potentially long term adverse effects.

This is also true when a slimming tea is taken more than the recommended amount. For example, when diet teas are used as meal substitutes and/or a person starves or eats-and-purges to lose weight, a dangerous eating disorder may be present.

In these circumstances, it is critical to see a doctor right away. It has been noted that for those first-time users who drank more than the recommended amount, stomach cramps, vomiting, nausea and diarrhea are the common disorders to occur and will last for several days.

When these laxatives are used continually, laxative dependency will tend to develop with bouts of chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain as well as constipation. In the most severe cases, these slimming tea laxatives can cause fainting, dehydration and serious electrolyte disorders.

As noted, these after-effects of excessive use of diet tea are most likely to develop in people who are nutritionally compromised due to rigorous weight-loss dieting. Because of these concerns, NAFDAC is now considering requiring the manufacturers of labeled “Chinese diet tea” to place warning labels on all of their product stimulant laxatives.

It is also important that those who are using slimming tea for any purpose must read and follow the recommended directions carefully.

The words indicated on the label under “warning” must then be given attention. Above all, always consult with your healthcare professional before consuming any type of tea for weight loss or other health-related purposes.

Now in a very commendable move, the Lagos State Command ha arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery attack on the popular comedian.
On 7/9/2016, the Lagos State Command received a distress call from Mr Bright Okpocha a.k.a Basketmouth that he has been robbed at gunpoint.

Subsequently the Command opened up investigation.

On 16th November 2016, the command arrested one Chiemele Joseph while carrying out armed robbery operation at ilasa Maja area of the State, his arrest led to the arrest of another gang member Chibuzor who further investigation revealed is the leader of the gang that attacked the comedian. Items recovered from the suspects are one Beretta pistol, two locally made pistol, two AK 47 rifles loaded with ammunitions, 12 live catridges, 2 iron cutters, master keys, 1 Mercedes 4matic Benz jeep.



The commissioner of police, CP Fatai Owoseni while parading the suspects , states that the Command will continue to be on the trail of criminals within the state , as he warns them to eschew criminalty or relocate from Lagos. He further reassures the residents of the state that their safety is guaranteed during this festive period.
The suspects Chiemezie Joseph and Chibuzor Ugwu will soon be charged to court.

Questions to Ask Him:

Find out what he’s looking for in others and if it’s even something you want to provide. 2) Have I felt checked out of the relationship too or was I blindsided by this?
If you were both looking for an out, that’s one thing. But if you’re still into him, you have a lot to think about. You can beat yourself up forever over clues you might have missed, but the only thing you can do is figure out your role in the factors that led to your partner cheating. Note: this doesn’t mean you’re to blame!

3) Am I willing to start fresh with him or will I constantly be throwing this back up to him?
If “forgiving him” actually means “make his life with me a living hell,” neither of you will be happy. Not everybody has it in them to forgive, and that’s okay. You just need to be honest with yourself on this because if you can’t move on, then you’ll be torturing yourself and him for the rest of your days together.

4) Am I staying because I am afraid I won’t find someone else?

5) Would I have cheated if given the opportunity?
If the answer is “yes,” your relationship was probably lacking the level of respect any relationship needs to survive. Time to move on. When people are committed, they can show restraint and regard for their partners, even if they were stuck in traffic on Lagos island in a car alone with Beyoncé.

6) Does it seem like he wants forgiveness or is looking for a way out of the relationship?
At this point you probably know him well enough to figure out where his head (and heart) is at.

7) In our relationship, does the good still outweigh the bad?
Making a pro and con list (to stay or to go) is a good idea when your relationship suffers this type of blow. Even if the good outweighs the bad, one bad thing (like cheating) can do a lot of damage. What you need to look at is whether the good make you happy or are you still going to be hurting and stressed over this for a while.

Has he done this (or other deceitful behaviors) before?
Think about whether this is a new behavior or a pattern that you’ve been trying your best to ignore. This can indicate just how much help he needs from a therapist or Jesus, and how much effort the two of you need to invest in making things right again.

9) Do we still have the same goals?
Are you both still on the same page or was the cheating just a symptom of a larger problem in the relationship? Affairs give people the chance to reevaluate unions, and it’s important to make sure that you still want the same things. The answers can really inform the investment you’re willing to make in sticking together.

10) Why do I still want to be with him?
When you’ve suffered the hurt and humiliation of being cheated on, you’d better have some solid reasons for staying. This is loaded and very individual. Many won’t agree with your reasons, which is why you need to be brutally honest in justifying them to yourself.

In some cases, like staying for the children, you may be doing more harm than good. In other cases, you may be needy, and that makes you vulnerable in moving forward. Sex releases something called the “cuddle chemical”, which could also inspire spirituality.

Let me ask this, Have you ever felt after having sex you feel like heading off to church?

You know – you’ve just had some good times, you’re snuggling down, and think, “yes, I think I’ll say a prayer now”. If you feel prompted to do such things, science might explain it. Especially if you’re male.

According to new research, having sex could inspire some sort of divinity within us – a greater sense of purpose, perhaps.

Researchers at Duke University say that sex could inspire a belief – or an increased belief – in God and religion. Sex releases something called oxytocin. It’s also known as the “hug hormone” and “cuddle chemical”, as it plays a crucial role in love and affection.

Oxytocin occurs naturally within us and is stimulated during sex, childbirth, and breastfeeding. For a long time the chemical has been known to promote social bonding, trust, and even altruism. Now, scientists at the North Carolina university in America say it could also incite spirituality in men too.

Research assistant, Professor Dr Patty Van Cappellen, says: “Spirituality and meditation have each been linked to health and wellbeing in previous research. We were interested in understanding biological factors that may enhance those spiritual experiences."

“Oxytocin appears to be part of the way our bodies support spiritual beliefs.”

According to the study, spotted by the Bath Chronicle , women produce more oxytocin then men, but Duke University hasn’t yet studied its effects on female godliness. To test the chemical reaction in men, participants were given the hormone, and others received a placebo.

The men who got a dose of the “hug hormone” were more likely to say that spirituality was an important part of their lives. It had meaning. They said so whether they’d previously noted that faith was a major aspect of their lives or not.

Those who took part also said they’d be more likely to see themselves as “interconnection with other people and living things”, the study reports.

Oxytocin, it seems, sparked more positive emotions, such as awe, gratitude, hope, inspiration, love, and serenity. But it didn’t affect everyone equally – those with a certain gene, called CD38 and which regulates its release in the brain, had a much more amplified response.

The study was published online in Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience .

Prof Van Cappellen adds that another study needs to be carried out with women as the chemical operates differently between genders.

“Oxytocin’s effects on women’s spirituality still needs to be investigated,” she says. "Women are unpredictable naturally and therefore a precise definition of feelings cannot be made."
