Celebrities / Linda Ikeji’s Mansion: A Wise Decision? By Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 6:32pm On Oct 19, 2015
I have read the blog, seen pictures of the house.
It is truly a very beautiful house and well apportioned.
The pictures have done it great justice and it is truly a designers delight. Well use of space, good quality finishing and truly worth the over 800m pricing I have heard mentioned.
But as I read her inspiring story, I begin to ask myself from a wealth management point of view if this is such a wise decision from this very brilliant and inspiring lady. As a wealth manager, I am looking at other factors far from the giddy factors she has mentioned to justify this status bending move.

As a financial adviser, I would not advise a lady at her age and background operating in such a fleeting industry to tie down such huge capital on one structure. A structure that she would be living in which immediately turns into a liability especially with the cost of running it, which would involve staffing, maintenance, taxes and fees amongst others. This is one expenditure that will keep taking from her and putting her under pressure to maintain or even increase her earnings just to keep up with the exposure.

If she ploughed in full cash into this purchase, this then is a real bad decision. At times like this cash is king. She could have taken out a payment plan not necessarily mortgage but a payment plan that would have freed up the cash that she would have used for other revenue generating investments which she would have used to be servicing this purchase. If she put in a down payment of say 400m and spread the rest over a 10 year period and used the balance to invest in other real estate within the Lekki and Ikoyi area where rental income comes in hard currency, she would easily meet the payments while still owning other real estate holdings.

She is a blogger. It is the ongoing trend and like all trends may soon wear off. What now happens to the lifestyle if she does not diversify her earning capacity when this is all over? I give this trend another three years or five max and another new thing will come up and even if blogging still remains hot, what is the guarantee that her blog will still be hot at that age? She has to start preparing for those days by investing in revenue creating income generating activities.

By now she should be looking at shares and stocks in big firms like GTB and First Bank. Her dividends from these investments would keep her living like the Queen that she is. She should look at Treasury Bills, Bonds and also keep some funds in forex to hedge against the volatility of the Naira. Basically all I am saying is for her to start planning for the inevitable dry run when she would need liquidity and continous flow of revenues.

This is not to say that I am not considering the fact that she doesn't have some sort of investments running, my take is that she has reached the income bracket where she would need to be working with professionals. Open what is called a 'family office' where the professionals would handle her investment decisions carefully planning her investments with the objective of ensuring further wealth creation and much more importantly sustainability.

Our society is littered with lots of people especially in entertainment and media who are today living in penury after living large. Too many to mention names. The case of King Sunny Ade comes to mind. He is court with his record label looking for royalties since the 60s and this fight could have been avoided with careful financial planning and investments. This is not to say that Sunny is broke or didn't plan well, the lifestyle is however no longer as flambouyant.

For her teeming Libers, you do not have to wait until you start making Linda's kind of money before you get professional advise. You can start by working with people who would put you in a monthly retail plan. This would enable you to start working with as little as N10,000 monthly to grew and build a sound financial future. You too can get to Linda level without her astounding run of luck by simply planning and investment, working with astute advisers.

My brotherly advise to Ms. Ikeji is to get professionals if she doesn't have any just yet. Look for investments that would generate more income, diversify her portfolio, access more investment windows as the cash keep rolling in because like everything in life, it would not roll in forever.

Celebrities / DAREY: Weldon Jo by Smoke2015: 12:08pm On Oct 13, 2015
Darey: weldon Jo By Joseph Edgar

My attention has just been drawn by Moji who has a thing for naked people to your latest nude picture. I have always wanted to see you naked right from the first time I saw you at the Moorehouse Hotel in Ikoyi with my nephew Ayobami.

I think this move is long overdue and will go a long way to boost your continued relevance in the music industry. The only problem I have is the fact that there was a small shadow at your crotch making us not see the bigness of smallness of your baba. However from the pic I can guess that it is nearer my pinky finger than a cucumber.

The jury is out. Moji thinks it is a wonderful pic and a marvelous attempt at pushing the envelope I agree, but Gbubemi thinks it's absurd and sick. Ayobami wants to photograph you while Pastor Wole thinks you need deliverance.

My own is that, I would have preferred more postures. You backing the camera bending down with your head almost touching your toes, your hands clasping your bottom and spreading them apart, you squatting and opening your thighs with your hands in the air, you posing on your knees with Charly boy standing and facing you equally naked and you facing the camera and holding your willy like a soldier holding his gun.

Kindly assist with all these shots so I can send them to the following prominent Nigerian Art collectors, President Buhari, Emir Sanusi of Kano, Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Adeboye.

Good one. Laugh one kill me.

Culture / Old Ikoyi Destroyed-by Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 12:15pm On Oct 09, 2015
They have ruined the scenic beauty of what used to be old Ikoyi.
It is now a sprawling ghetto of faux modernity.
Gone are the big well manicured lawns, the colonial mansions that reminded us of our heritage and allowed for clean living. The panoramic view and the healthy marriage between nature and the well designed Victorian manors have long disappeared making the whole place a shrine to greed and crass selfishness.
As I drive through old Ikoyi this morning, I see the sprawling ugliness of new money. The bourgeois hunger for avarice and self gloating as evidence in the appallingly ugly buildings that is being put up. These avalanche of stupendous concrete ugliness destroying the roads and making the whole place a cacophony of confusion throwing it up as another example of confusion that is our lot in modern day Nigeria.

What is the difference between Ikoyi, Obalende and Shomolu? I really don't see any difference. The pot holes are the same even deeper in Ikoyi as a result of the giant construction equipments that daily pervade the area. The traffic jam is equally horrendous and security as I hear is now all man FOR himself. The only difference is the cost of the ugliness. Much more money has been spent in Ikoyi to achieve the dirtiness and squalor that is drawing this comparison.

South west Ikoyi was the first to go. It went to the dogs in the 90s allowing Obalende to slowly crawl into its space, driving the elites towards surulere and yaba even as far as Magodo. Keffi, Norman Williams, Biaduo streets all look like a huge internally displaced camp. Dirtier than the mighty refuse dump at Ojota.

What has led Ikoyi into this? It's the stupid high cost of the land. The sinking Lekki and the congested VI has thrown up the cost of Land in Ikoyi out of the reach of the legal honest person allowing only commercial entities and thieves access to its lushness. So what we get now are commercial offices pushing off residents and huge blocks of flats charging hard currency thereby making it out of the reach of the professional elites it was originally designed for.

I thank the owners of Lagos, the mandarins of Glover and the honchos at Alausa plus their Godfathers for this gift of squalor. God bless us all. Mshewwwww .

Sports / Sunday Oliseh Be Careful By Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 9:48am On Oct 07, 2015
Look I am very angry this morning.
Why should oliseh tell my town man Vincent Eyeama to not only shut up but get security men to walk him out of the grounds. Look this is nothing but racism. Oliseh has never liked Akwa Ibom people since he lost his first girlfriend who happens to be ibibio. He has since been carrying this chip on his shoulder and could not control himself when he saw my brother Vincent do so well in his career.

He has no right to tell my brother shut up. You too shut up Oliseh, you too gerrout. What is that? How many goals did you even score for Nigeria with your yellow paw paw face. You are lucky I am not near you otherwise I would have squeezed your ear and kicked you in the bum. Go and watch all recent Nigerian matches and see the way Vincent has saved us when your Igbo brothers where busy fooling themselves on the field.

We ibibio people are ready to leave Nigeria because of this matter. This is not that ye ye massob struggle where they keep shouting Biafra at night and in the morning go and open their shops in the market to sell. We will go, we will go and join Cameroun so that Vincent will be given his respect.

I don't even care what he did or didn't do. You will respect him simply because he is an Ibibio man that is all. I demand a full apology to the whole Ibibio nation within the next 24 hours otherwise we will instruct our Senator to look for your Senator and tell him to shut up too and where that does not work, we will ask our Governor to tell your own Governor shut up.

What is that? This disrespect must stop. Nigerians don't respect Ibibio people. We gave you guys edika Idong, we gave you guys fine well rounded women, we gave you guys, Akpabio and his uncommon transformation and we gave you guys Etim Esin. We demand respect and we must get it. Remember we have oil, we have palm oil, we have my mother and we have Uyo one of the greatest modern cities of the world. We are taking this matter seriously and will definitely come out with a powerful position demanding our respect as a people.

Who be this Oliseh sef, a godfather gifted coach. What has he even achieved, how many matches has he won since he became coach, come dey tell Vincent to shut up. He is even lucky, if na me, I for kick am. He needs to get training on leadership and how to manage a team of egosmaniacs. Vincent has paid his dues and has been recognized world over and no matter what should be given his respect as a very senior member of the team no matter the situation.

I swear it's because he is Ibibio that is why. Can Oliseh try a Yoruba player like that. OPC and the Oshodi boys would be on his scrawny neck or can he try an Igbo player Ohaneze and Massob will show him. It is because he has looked and is seeing house boys and house girls that he thinks Vincent has no support that is why he can open that his ye ye mouth to tell an international world class player to shut up.

I hereby give Oliseh a 24 hour notice to send an unreserved apology to the Ibibio nation otherwise we will unleash our Ekpe masquerade and 1,000 naked Ibibio virgins on him and let's see if he will survive it. I will personally place a hex on him making sure he doesn't win any match again until he is disgracefully kicked out of the team and into the River Niger where the hungry fishes will chew out that his mouth. Yeye dey smell.

Jokes Etc / Allison Madueke: No Weapon Sharpened...by Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 11:52am On Oct 05, 2015
Yes darling no weapon sharpened by your enemy will come near you.
I swear it, don't panic, our prophet has assured me that the brief arrest was just a small glitch. He had just shaved his dreadlocks that was the loophole the people used to get you. But like I have said do not worry, as the dreads grow back, his powers would come back and you will regain your invisibility once again.

Arrest you? It was shocking to me. That you did what exactly? Are you the first woman to be beautiful as a Minister? Do they know what it means to maintain that smooth complexion of yours, those wonderfully beautiful eyes? Because their wives are not as beautiful now they are chasing you, trying to embarrass you globally. Imagine, a whole Ex President of OPEC, the cowards. The fact that you are ill, did not deter the lilly livered mandarins to come after you. Don't worry it cannot happen again.

Prophet jerubabeel has assured me that he has commenced work. Last night I was at the canal with him although mummy you will look for a way of sending some dollars so that I can procure some of the items he has asked for. He has asked for the eye of an APC National Leader, a strand from the pubic Hair of the National Spokesman of the APC, the Presidents toothbrush, Asiwaju's chewing stick and lastly, the nail from Osinbajo's small index finger. We will have to cut it in his sleep. You will agree that these items would be very difficult to get but there is nothing the dollar at this current exchange rate will not buy.

Prophet has sworn that by the time he finishes with this ritual, you will be given back your position as the most glamorous Petroluem Minister with concurrent responsibilities over OPEC in Geneva. Buhari would forget about his decision to keep the Petroleum Ministry and apologize to you and the gravy train will get back on track. I have already asked the pilots to start getting the Jets ready, we would soon be back in business.

Don't worry my dear, can't you even see how the oil price has continued falling in your support? Can't you see how dark the new NNPC MD is, Nigerians are watching and are praying. This too shall pass.

Kindly let me know how you are sending the dollars and please send them urgently before Buhari comes back from the farm where he went to inspect his cattle. By the way, why don't we kidnap at least two of them and hold them to ransom until they drop this case and reinstate you. Please mummy, let's consider this option because the Buhari I know, would rather loose the Presidency before allowing one Cow to go missing. I think this may be a better option, I await your instructions on the way forward. Still send the dollar sha any which way.

Thank you sweetie.

Politics / Buhari Petroleum Minister? I Beg To Disagree-by Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 7:46pm On Oct 03, 2015
Me I am shaking my head vigorously, this will not work.
The President cannot retain the Petroluem Ministry for himself.
I know the reasons may not be self serving especially if you take into cognizance the systemic corruption that had bedeviled that sector, but this in my mind still does not justify the President making himself the Petroluem Minister.

The issues that pervade that sector goes beyond that of corruption.
Infact blocking the leakages, looking for lost and stolen funds make up less than 10% of the issues in that sector. The issues of oil glut, shale oil, pricing, the increasing irrelevance of OPEC in world oil dynamics and its interplay in global economy amongst others. What I see is a defensive policy that would guard against theft but when the money is not coming how will you stop it from being stolen. My Oga, there is nothing to steal again.

Instead of concentrating on the Petroluem industry with this outdated strongman tactics, energy should be concentrated on diversifying the economy, opening it up some more, encourage other sectors like agriculture, creative industry, services and manufacturing in a bid to get them to shore up the inflow of forex hence mitigating the losses we are currently suffering its the low oil prices.

I have always expressed my fear especially with the posturing of this government with its stated stance on corruption and change. Yes, it is brilliant that corruption is fought and extinguished; yes it is also perfect that we must be frugal especially at this time and hold down on costs, but what I have failed to see in the much vaunted body language is its ability to liberalize the economy, open it up more for private Investment so that enterprise would be running on its own steam without having to depend on oil and government for its sustenance.

The President should keep the Ministry of Agriculture which is the largest employer of Labour or the Ministry of Commerce for himself and not the Petroluem Ministry. This will send a strong signal to all stakeholders that we mean business when it comes to the opening up of other sources of earnings for the economy. This decision shows a clear lack of understanding of the diminishing importance of oil in the global space and the growing strength of technology and commerce.

The Indian and Chinese economies are being fueled by technology and trade not OIL. We have all the resources both Human and Material to overtake these countries in those areas if only we can show seriousness in these pursuits. It's our deep pool of human capacity which represents to the investors both a factor of Labour and markets that keeps these investors and shows that we can achieve strong growth indices especially in agriculture if not in technology in the short term.

So my Oga, leave the Petroluem Ministry, the oil age is over. Lets see some dynamic policies that would harness the hidden potentials of these two mentioned sectors. The figures are huge and we have not even scratched the surface.

Politics / Open Letter To Olu Falae By Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 4:14pm On Sep 25, 2015
Baba welcome back.
You cannot imagine how we here in Uyo prayed fervently for your safe release. We are your friends and will continue to be no matter what the Fulani herdsmen think or do. We have heard the insinuation that the Fulani Herds men are the ones after you because of your continued insistence that they should look for else where apart from your farm for their cows to poo.
Well this your principled stance against the location of cow dung put you in the face of danger and that is why you have remained our hero. In Akwa Ibom we respect courage especially at the risk of personal safety. We thank God you are back even as we pray that the horrendous situation does not in any way affect your long term health and stance on cow dung.

I saw the IG of police escort you back, I read their statement purporting their brave rescue but I also read your statement showing that you walked out of the kidnappers den. This to me qualifies you to serve in Buhari's cabinet at least in an advisory role. Nigerians need your skills in negotiation. We remain highly impressed at how you offered them N2m down from the initial N100m they had asked for. This to me comes from years of meritorious studies as a world renowned economist. The kidnappers had no chance with your mental strength. They did not know that you had calculated the whole scenario, valued your situation and your cost to your family and admirers and arrived at the true value of N2m. Anything above that to you would be profiteering.

My relieve is palpable. We request that you publish the formula in which you arrived at the N2m full and final offer you made to the sons of dogs, so that we all memorize it and use in the event of our own incarceration.

Welcome back daddy. Pls make sure you go in for a full medical check up after which you come over to Uyo for some afang and palm wine at our own cost. We are ready to host you simply because of your uncommon courage and determination to stand on principles-virtues that are lacking in today's Nigeria. Uyo is world famous for our hospitality, from our soups to our women-which at 77 should not interest you-to our wide roads comparable only to the autobahns in Germany. So a week with us will give you the opportunity to rest, get your blood pressure stabilized thereby putting you in a position to re strategize on the continued wahala with the Fulani Cow dung.

Kindly let me know if there would be a thanksgiving service so that I can immediately organize one if your people are afraid that the service could be disrupted by your enemies. We will organize a befitting one here in Akwa Ibom with no Fulani person invited. We really don't care if the guest list is unbalanced and reflective of Buhari's initial appointments, we just want to celebrate you and thank God for bringing you out of the Lions Den victorious.

Till then, just go home and sleep, God will continue to bless and protect you and may you not see any cow or herdsmen in your dreams. Read Psalm 23 and sing the Akwa Ibom song of the faithful- ' Ekem ini'.

God bless Chief Falae,
You are our adopted son.

Religion / Pastors, Private Jets And Their Taxes By Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 1:27pm On Sep 17, 2015
Am I angry? I'm not sure.
For the first time in my adult life I cannot even put in words my present feeling especially as the news of Pastor Adeboye's latest acquisition of a luxury Private Jet hits me this morning with just N2,000 in my pocket.
Against the backdrop of the recent almost violent rejection by the 'body of Christ' of the call for taxes in our churches, we now hear of Pastors launching luxury liners and huge real estate collections you begin to ask yourself some very pertinent questions with answers you are afraid of exploring.

At the last count, Pastors Adeboye, Joshua and Oyedepo, Oritsejafor etc have all acquired the very latest in luxury jets amongst a vast array of holdings making them some of the very wealthiest human beings on earth. Me I am afraid of personally attacking Pastor Joshua for fear that he may not be as forgiving as the other two, but my searchlight and arrow will be directed at Adeboye and Oyedepo because if they get angry with me, I can beg and as fathers they will forgive and pray for me. That other one, no go gree.

I have attended both the Redeemed and Winners and the scale of their vision always stupefies me, humbling and humiliating me at the same time. The vastness of their holdings and immense wealth which they control if not checked can begin to compete with the federal Government in revenues generated. They rely on the fear and near literate disposition of their followers. Yes, near literate because the most educated of us, when it comes to spiritual things we are all illiterate and gullible or how else can you explain this continued perfidy where we assemble every Sunday and listen to the same story retold for over 2,000 years and still give out 10% of our hard earned income to a few to live like Roman Emperors and yet refuse to be taxed.

These pastors are the new overlords, slave masters with whips garnisheed with the sweet tongues of Babylon aimed at impoverishing us, putting us under spells of hypnosis and keeping us in a permanent state of imbecilic servitude. They bestride the firmament in holier than thou gowns collecting from a deprived and depraved flock, fleecing, throwing prosperity messages that seem to deliver the wealth to them alone and their cronies, while the rest of us, defiled cups in hands, adorned with rags and defiled by leprosy , kneel at their feet, hoping and waiting for the deliverance but alas we are told to wait till heaven while they live in opulence here on earth.

We will definitely wait till heaven and there if we find them will embark on the ultimate protest. Heaven will surely witness its first race riot. A riot occasioned by Nigerians and only Nigerians seeking for a pound of flesh from these masters who made our lives a living hell on earth. Yes, a living hell because we ran to them for succor, for relief from the viccititudes of this world but yet little did we know that we were just running from one slave master to the other albeit with a promise of a better life herein after while taking the last of our pennies, the last of our hopes and in some cases our wives and depriving us of the last vestiges of dignity and leaving us naked with the utopian hope of a better tomorrow.

Two of these churches have birthed luxury airliners with the tithes of a pitiable gullible crowd. This airliner I hear has two of the state of the art jetliners sequestered for only those who can afford it and reserved for the exclusive use of the GO in many of his travels. Who are the shareholders of this firm? Who are the Directors of the firm, registered in America thereby keeping it out of reach of the millions who have contributed their kobo to this initiative. Where is the corruption war? Why is it not beaming its search light towards this area of continuous and stylish thievery?

The airliner is not just the only one, the huge Real Estate holdings, the University where the brethren cannot afford to take their children to despite the fact that it's their tithes that built the school. The hotels, the various businesses. This is nothing but organized fleecing under the guise of religion. Now, I am angry and will unsheath my sword. This 'religious'organizations are nothing but multi national firms who have gotten their seed capital from their members who unlike normal shareholders have been deprived of the benefits of their investments. Where is the democracy in all these? Why are dividends not declared and shared amongst all tithe payers? Why is the GO position held almost in perpetuity?

These church owners are wicked. The Roman Catholic Church is a very rich organization who have impacted on the lives of not just Italians but the rest of the world. It is not controlled by a family or a patriarch but controlled by structures and institutions that have for centuries continued to ensure the perpetuity of its vision. The selection of the Pope who is the titular head is carried out along very set lines of succession, lines that have over the centuries withstood the vagaries of time, encrypting it into the concrete of structure. This has ensured the continuous democratization of dividends that accrue from their various activities. They pay their taxes, run a government in the Vatican and support governments and society wherever they find themselves. I am not a fan of the Catholic Church but in terms of transparency, institutionalized decision taking, clear and transparent succession planning and decision taking procedures they are miles ahead of this family owned businesses we call churches in this country.

I hereby call for the democratization of the Redeemed Christian church and the Winners chapel. Their size, influence and continued growing wealth makes it dangerous to continually be controlled by one individual. You see the way Presidents and political candidates scamper there for support, the influence and power they carry must be broken otherwise we will be faced by a parallel government which will be very dangerous for us as a country and which could make the menace of Boko Haram child's play. Yes child's play because they are dealing with the mind, hypnotizing a vast section of the population controlling them and making them allude to their biding iresponsibly. See the role of the Redeemed in the selection of the current Vice President and the mass movement of their members towards his candidacy without even querying his position on issues. See how a sitting President made regular pilgrimages to go bow down unconstituonally to an unelected self appointed demagogue all in the name of 'spiritual father.'

The General Overseer-GO position must have tenor limits. The constitution of this group must be tinkered with. A four year maximum two term tenor must be infused in their constitution. Proper elections or at best clear GO appointing procedures and decision taking process must be made with every tithe paying church goer having the same opportunity to aspire to the position. A clear system of checks and balances with separation of powers must also be entrenched. Some people will be cursing me now as they read, but do I care. It is for their own good that I am making these suggestions and also for my own good as a Nigerian who will suffer when this monster collapses into chaos and tyranny if effective structures are not put in place to guide and sustain its unprecedented growth.

See what happened to the Celstial Church when its founder Pa Oshoffa died. We saw a wicked succession battle which led to court cases, violence and a balkanization of the church. The celestial church came out of that era weakened. Today it has lost its glory and is no more than a local champion. This was so because Oshoffa led with the power of his charisma, not putting structures in place and when he passed there was nobody with that kind of persona to fit into his huge shoes. Wait for Adeboye's passing and you will see a Colombian drug cartel like war of control.

Already parish Pastors are helping themselves to church funds, stealing wives of their members and generally exhibiting unchristian like behavior because of the weak structures of control and cohesion. The Redeemed church is today as popular as Coca Cola with parishes on every street corner but unlike coke with no clear tested machinery for governance and control. While the center is busy building global enterprises, the local parish pastor is defiling the church with his own thievery.

This is not an attack on the church and no satan sent me. I am a Christian, not very devout but a Christian none the less. What I have done is detach myself from all this Tom foolery and attempted to look dispassionately at the monster that is today's churches especially the redeemed and Winners in the wake of the tax controversy. Our churches need to open themselves for proper scrutiny otherwise they will continue in this profane exploitation of a gullible and in most cases helpless population seeking solace and succor from task masters who are even worse than the devil himself.

I have stopped payment of tithe until corporate governance and transparency is instituted in our churches, until open elections are conducted for sensitive church positions and until tithe payers are recognized as shareholders and dividends declared and payed annually. Till then, I will be paying my tiny tithe to an orphanage in Palmgrove, Onipanu Lagos where the madam is struggling daily to feed and educate kids with no hope in life. This to me is far better and enriching than funding a financial behemoth masquerading as a religious organization, dodging taxes and yet doing businnes at the levels that even the biggest of global players cringe with fear.

I await the attacks.

Thank you.

Romance / How Not To Chase A Married Woman by Smoke2015: 2:02pm On Aug 31, 2015
'It's not right, there is something wrong in the lack of self control of men and no respect for the institution of marriage. At least let me show you I am interested or something, don't just feel that cos you are attracted then it must be a burden I must share. It's wrong, wrong,wrong...'
That is the lamentation of my very good friend who is happily married but get unsolicited advances from randy men ranging from the very young to the potbellied old fools. This conversation got me thinking and I decided to write this piece to advise those who find it sexually appealing to go after married women. You see the married woman is very complex and comes with a varied sense of her position in the society. This game is very complex and can only be played by the very experienced Don Juan. It is not a game for the neophyte who at best could get his ego sunk in the dirtiest gutters and at worse end up in jail or loose his life through Magun.

If you must, then follow these candid time tested rules.

Never make the first move. Never, ever. Wait if she is interested she will send you the signals and even at that make sure you are more than 100% sure of what you are getting and then start in a subtle manner and very slowly opening up to her. She will drag you in herself and maintain the momentum. Don't ever rush, alloW her take the lead.

Key into her areas of interest. Her children's welfare, her projects, her wahala with her hubby. Be that dependable shoulder she can lean on and never be seen to take advantage of her weaknesses or the information she is giving you. Be a part of her life, remain in the shadows and allow her lead the way.

Never ever be blatant about your feelings for her. Keep her guessing and mute them. Show her you care in a brotherly way while at the same time giving her a better alternative to the boring hubby. Still let her lead the way.

Have long unending conversations about her interests. Ask helpful questions, make reliable suggestions and be the handy man. She will begin to lean on your advice and soon you will be indispensable. But she remains the leader. By this time, she will start touching your arms lightly and even introduce you to her hubby as a friend. This is to cover the late night calls and chats.

Show you can be discreet. This is very key. No married woman wants to be with a loud mouth. Show that you can die instead of opening your mouth. I once had a colleague who was dating our boss, the fact that her driver brought him to work did t make him open up. He is still denying five years after the affair.

Treat your young girlfriend with care and love. This is very attractive to the married woman. Know that she would most likely be missing all these in her marriage. So channel so much love to your girlfriend and ask her for advise when you are having a fight with your girlfriend. She will gladly advise. Then cry small while talking. Never fail to show weakness it pulls out the motherly instinct in her. This is a winner.

Show your bulge in a discreet and not obscene manner. She will be missing the early years when her hubby could go the whole night. Nowadays, the Oga struggling with life struggles would even find it hard to go once sef. So show her that you could possibly be dynamite in bed. Complain to her that your girlfriend is killing you with sex and that after 5 rounds she still wants more. The woman would be amazed although won't show it and be secretly wishing that she could have just two sef.

In all these guys, if you must with a married woman, never never be abrasive, allow her take the initiative, let her lead the way and when you eventually get her, remember that this was a decision that would dramatically alter her life and family so you must continually respect her, treat her like the whole universe revolves around her, be subtle with your girlfriend and don't throw her in your paramours face and remain forever loyal even years after its over.

Note of warning, it could get messy and her anger is one you never want to experience. The risk is worth trying sha.

Finally, these advise is gotten from tremendous research I got from talking with a lot of married women, research from the Internet and through prayers asking for revelation as I write. Let me state categorically that its NOT FROM ANY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I SWEAR o. Kai. Nigerians, dem no go kill researcher.

Politics / Buhari- The Turbulence Ahead By Joseph Edgar by Smoke2015: 9:14pm On Aug 22, 2015
As I look into the next 18 months, I see this administration fighting an impeachment battle.
I also see this administration coming out of that battle victorious but hobbled in its attempt to clean the Augean stable of the stench and rot it had vowed to clear during its electioneering campaign. The fight will be tough and compromises and realignments will happen and this will lead to serious erosion of the present high morale ground thereby putting it in a weak end positioned to continue in the anti corruption campaign.

Why do I harbor this fear? The ominous signs are everywhere. First of all the amalgamation of strange bedfellows brought together and united by their sheer hatred of the Jonathan regime without any strong ideological footing but the single minded need to kick out Jonathan and his forty thieves. For how do you explain, the coming together of sworn enemies like Obasanjo and Atiku, Tinubu and Obasanjo amongst others. That alignment of forces, the newPDP, the cross carpeting of prominent PDP members who themselves cannot be said to be clean all coming together to fight for this cause. Immediately Jonathan was kicked out, the umbilical cord tying the new enlarged APC was also severed and nothing best describes this than the fight in the emergence of the House leadership.

Party superiority was trampled upon, party position was kicked into the gutter as a mad and naked fight for position ensued. We saw the dearth of party discipline and the PDP showed better cohesion and unity in the lead towards the emergence of new House Leaders and Infact played a major role in their emergence as their members votes were majorly needed for stability.

Ever since that debacle, the fight had continued down to the appointments of committee chairmen and other minor leadership positions. Tinubu the party godfather, has found himself defanged and demystified with his famed influence no more than a wishful appeal that was ignored in this debacle. Leaving him crouched at a corner with tears of regret dropping from his tired eyes.

Buhari's insistent of not being involved in this has left the house under the control of very strong and independent leadership with dodgy loyalty to him. This to me shows Buhari's naivety in these things, as he would need the house if he wants to have a successful and stress free administration. A Saraki leadership with allegiance leaning more towards Atiku than Buhari portends danger. Any which way, a leadership of the House loyal to Tinubu would have been a worse fate for Buhari. As I see Tinubu using the House as a bulwark to assuage his frustrations from a continuous shut out from Aso Rock. What I am trying to say here is that Buhari was not in that fight, it was a fight between Tinubu and Atiku and any which way it swung, Buhari still came out a sore loser.

Already the National Assembly by refusing a reduction in its expenditure has shown that they are not really on the same page with the government and could not careless. With a budget of about N150b it continues to remain the elephant in the room. How Buhari will tackle them remains to be seen.

What I see and I could be wrong, is these powerful forces using the house to force the hands of the government. The House is a powerful organ of oversight especially over the Executive arm. You saw how they fought Obasanjo despite his overwhelming influence and clear understanding of the game to almost a standstill during his regime. You can only imagine what would happen to Buhari who has shown only but a passing interest in the affairs of the House and who is waging a fierce anti corruption battle that if properly conducted could consume very powerful interests with foot soldiers in the house.

Another reason for my fear is the ongoing anti corruption battle. If this battle continues at this pace and intensity then the major linchpins who put the structure in place to deliver the
Presidency would be consumed. Buhari needs to show not just Nigerians but the whole world that he is capable of fighting a cohesive and comprehensive battle without fear or favour. He must be seen to be above sectarian considerations and in so doing he would be faced with an Hobbesian choice. Would he ignore the growing and very strident calls to extend the campaign towards his party faithful or risk his integrity and strong morale equity by protecting some of those who help put him in power but with leprose fingers stained by graft. I envy him not, an attempt to move against them, may see them triggering the 'bombs' laced in the National Assembly.

The continuous inability to form a cabinet continues to show the frustration in getting 'clean' people within those who worked for this victory in building a team that would not only be effective but also project a strong image of pristine integrity. The Fashola website scandal and the continuous fight between Wike and Amaechi must really be giving Buhari a throbbing headache. Fashola at face value remains the poster boy for a new regime, but with these facts coming out slowly but effectively will continue to whittle down his morale foundations, giving him a feet of clay and thereby if not curtailed make him a liability to this government. These issues are coming out as a result of an alleged frosty relationship between him and his establishment godfathers who are feeling cut off from the centre and are heaping all the blame on him and Fayemi. With Fashola, Fayemi and Amaechi hobbled, who does Buhari turn to. I pity Buhari.

His seeming lopsided appointments are also beginning to create some level of restlessness. He has managed to balance it, but the advantage to a section of the country can be seen if looked very closely. If this is established, it can quickly bring the forces in the south together in a United fight against it. The damage the Abacha/ IBB regime fostered on the monolithic North and the continuous onslaught of Boko Haram in disrespecting the traditional stools of control in the north may not allow Buhari a fall back position to push against a cohesive south who would be united by greed and a need for a better share of the National Cake. He has to balance out these appointments, giving a sense of belonging to all divides to ward this off.

Finally, I see within the next 18months a Jonathan like realignment of forces against Buhari. Buharis success in the anti corruption battle, blocking of leakages, destruction of political patronage, centralized decision taking will push the coming together of the PDP elements in the APC, the godfathers of the APC and what is left of the PDP to come together to face this new enemy in its bid to literally save their backs.

Like I said, Buhari will emerge victorious, but come out of it weaker and compromised. My strong advise is for him at his age, not to look for a second term, so that he can be single minded in his pursuit, he should retake the National Assembly by instigating a 'coup' that should see him putting his loyalist in the commanding seat, he should build a cabinet of performers with strong integrity. He should look beyond the Fasholas and Amaechis of this world. We are 170m people in this country and as such he should find capable hands outside this shallow pool of compromised candidates who will destroy his anti corruption stance. He should push a new liberal economic policy, reducing government involvement in the economy to just regulation and creating a better environment instead of involving itself in appointments of even such low level officials like General Managers .

I wish him luck and my prayers are still with you Sir. But where all these fail, you still have your Cows in Daura to go back to. At least those ones are not as complicated to manage as the Nigerian project. See you soon.

Politics / Oby Ezekwezili, Her Barber, the Chibok Girls & The Tales By Moonlight - Edgar by Smoke2015: 7:35pm On Aug 22, 2015
Suddenly the music has stopped. Immediately we achieved a peaceful transition from the last administration our heroine has suddenly gone quiet or is it me, have we found the girls or am I missing something?

I once met madam at the Eko Hotel during the tenth year anniversary of Terra Kulture. I admired her low cut hairstyle and her no no-nonsense approach to life. She sat beside me, straight backed like a quarter master general in the colonial army, legs crossed with the conspicuous thatcherite bag on her laps, with fear I greeted her and she responded very gruffly. I did not understand the aggression and only felt better after the show when I realized that she was miffed at her seating position. Apparently as a VIP, she did not like the fact that she was seated amongst mere mortals after all she was one of the super Ministers in the Obasanjo regime and OBJ had just finished hugging and kissing her cheeks in the full glare of the world so she had no business sitting down beside us from Shomolu. So she sat down there face looking like 'Scar' the rogue Lion in the epic movie Lion King who ended up killing his brother and attempting to kill his nephew Simba.

Well, after my initial fear I attempted a question. With a squeak, I asked her if she thought we would ever find the girls. This opened the flood gates and you would think I was Shekau's son. She screamed at me, spittle flying everywhere that 'we must find the girls' we owe it to ourselves as a responsible nation to find the girls, otherwise we would have failed ourselves and future generations'.
She went on with her position, telling me how responsible Governments behave under such situations, how she thinks this Government that is the Jonathan Government was treating the whole issue with kid gloves while also lacking the will to engage these marauders in a fight that should see them thoroughly humiliated. She wanted a clear and concise government action that would not only liberate the girls but ensure that all girls and Infact Nigerians where comprehensively protected from such 'bastards' as the ones we are dealing with.

I came out of that encounter impressed. I wished she was my mother. Such clarity, such devotion to a cause, such determination. I began to follow the campaign, I watched her on TV, on international fora and in protest matches as she campaigned for the girls. God will bless this woman I prayed every morning. This campaign was keeping the issue on the national front burner and will keep the pressure on the government who will now have no other choice than to look for ways even if it meant for the President to adorn his native hunters gear and enter the Sambisa Forest in search of our missing girls personally.

When the hashtag campaign hit, I was on top of myself. All sort of international figures from the U.S. president to his wife down to international looneys like Kim Kardashian all joined the campaign and this was Oby's finest hour. I could almost imagine her on her favourite barbers chair getting her world famous low cut in shape and smiling to herself with pride that she has led a movement that has not only gained international attention but has also kept her in the spotlight and positioned her for recognition and maybe a Nobel Peace price.

But alas, with the swearing in of the Buhari administration, she has gone quiet. The fire has been extinguished and madam has gone back to the barber shop with really no plans to continue the fight. She has gone quiet and this has led me to ask various bitter questions. Was this an elaborate scam on her part to gain relevance, to use as a platform to push for recognition at the expense of the poor girls who have continued to suffer untold hardships and torture at the hands of these sons of satan?

Is it because some of the them have escaped that madam feels that she can suspend her campaign or was she part of an elaborate scam to discredit the Jonathan administration using the saga of the chibok girls to continue to paint it as an ineffective government and as such had no business being in power or how are we going to explain this sudden loss of interest and her team of virginal campaigners.

Much as I try not to abhor negative thoughts about madam, her barber and her intentions, I cannot help but think that she and her ilk may have jumped on this matter for nothing but very selfish and primordial interest at the expense of these innocent children. Infact, I refuse to hold myself further, let me state very clearly that I think that madam in 'suspending' this campaign has shown her true colour which is that of a self serving, attention seeking, low cut wearing bigot who have not only played us for fools but succeeded in further jeorpadising the lives of the girls by all that self serving and shallow postulations.

To me, the aim of that campaign was not just to make noise but aimed at galvanizing social capital that would inadvertently lead to the securing of the freedom of not just the chibok girls but also all and any Nigerian in captivity and as long as these victims remain in the caves the pressure must continue to be applied. We cannot voluntarily retire from the struggle for whatever reasons, we cannot just say we have tried and pack our bags and go home to rest when the ultimate aim of the campaign in the first place has not been achieved.

Oby and her fellow travelers have only succeeded in dancing naked at the village square, a sight I'd rather not watch. She has showed us her true colours, that the chibok girls were not really her interest, she has shown us that she truly needed the platform to come back to national relevance after her unceremonious removal from office and this, my people is the shame of not only her brethren and her barber but also the shame of a nation. Our collective shame that we could not see through this shenanigans, our shame that we allowed her drag us by the nose believing that this action was of pure intent while we were all being used for, on hindsight very narrow interests.

Let me ask, what has changed about the situation since the present administration came in? Have the girls been found and if not are they being kept under better conditions? Why have we forgotten them, why have other issues pushed the issues of the Chibok girls away from the front burner. Where are the campaigners, why the sudden silence?

We can only find answers to these in madam Oby's Barbers shop and I really do not have any intentions of going there.

Science/Technology / Good Bye Google? Search, Tech Giants Rebrands, Changes Name To 'alphabet' by Smoke2015: 11:29pm On Aug 10, 2015
World search and technology giants Google has announced that it is to become a new company called Alphabet. Not to worry, the popular search engine will still be known as it is-Google.
According to the company, the decision to rebrand and change its name is to make the company cleaner and accountable.
“Our company is operating well today, but we think we can make it cleaner and more accountable. So we are creating a new company, called Alphabet,” wrote Google co-founder and current CEO Larry Page in a post on the official Google blog.

‘This new structure will allow us to keep tremendous focus on the extraordinary opportunities we have inside of Google,’ Page added.

While Google Inc owns many companies (of which the search engine and of course Youtube are amongst the largest), they have decided to ‘restructure’ and separate its web companies from its research and investment divisions.

The company will continue to operate as Google in most of the important ways, including the search engine that made it one of the world's biggest companies. But it will operate a holding company named 'Alphabet' Inc, which will be the holding company for the company's non-web divisions and subsidiaries.

Page will become CEO of Alphabet and co-founder Sergey Brin will become president.

“What is Alphabet? Alphabet is mostly a collection of companies. The largest of which, of course, is Google. This newer Google is a bit slimmed down, with the companies that are pretty far afield of our main Internet products contained in Alphabet instead.” The goal it seems it to run more nimbly as a collection of smaller companies rather than one behemoth of only loosely related things, according to the blog post.

Why Alphabet? Page went on to explain:
For Sergey and me this is a very exciting new chapter in the life of Google — the birth of Alphabet. We liked the name Alphabet because it means a collection of letters that represent language, one of humanity’s most important innovations, and is the core of how we index with Google search! We also like that it means alpha-bet (Alpha is investment return above benchmark), which we strive for! I should add that we are not intending for this to be a big consumer brand with related products–the whole point is that Alphabet companies should have independence and develop their own brands.”
The change seems to be a good thing, as shares in Google rose as much as 5.8 per cent after the Alphabet announcement.

Google to Alphabet, what are your thoughts?

Crime / Ghanaian Lady Allegedly Commits Suicide Because Husband Was Sleeping With Mum by Smoke2015: 7:59am On Aug 10, 2015
Yesterday evening an MDB reader forwarded the picture and video which was trending on WhatsApp, of this lady pictured above who allegedly committed suicide in the US after finding out that her husband was sleeping with her mum.
The lady who according to unconfirmed reports circulating online is Ghanaian, and she jumped from a high rise to her death and nobody was able to save her.
Don't know how recent the story is though, but see the very sad, and chilling video after the cut. Viewer descretion.

After watching the video, the following questions came to mind, regardless of the facts surrounding the case.
Why did the Police and other officials not make effort to get some form mattress(es), or foam around the point she may have landed? From the video it was obvious that she must have been seen dangling on the balcony for a while which led to the Police been alerted in the first place.
Why didn't any one make any sort of effort to catch the individual or is that possible only in movies?
I honestly do not understand this video and I think rather that just stand around and watch the balcony, perhaps more could have been done to save the victims life.
On the other hand, if the story been circulated is by any chance true, why in the world will anyone commit suicide for this reason, especially a mother who has a baby? How does suicide solve the problem? I really do NOT understand this. The sound of the person landing alone is very chilling and sad.
Do leave your comments.
