Honestly, I ain't surprised one bit. Cavill cameo wasn't brought by Gunn or Safran in the first place. That's the previous regime. They were given the job after.

TSS underperformed theatrically because it was released internationally and on streaming the same day. It still went on to become the top streamed DC movie at the time even while also being the 6th most pirated movie between January and September 2021.

Series like: Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Boys, Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities, and many others. But we won't hear word again because the overrated guy directed Peacemaker.
A movie like Godzilla vs Kong was even released before TSS with the same format but it did 2x TSS. Black Widow was also released the same way and it also perform better even if people still classified it as underperforming.

The other had exclusive theatrical release and a massive marketing push. I'm beginning to wonder which was marketed the most between BA & The Batman.
