Variety says SUPERMAN is 'silly' and that Heads of State is more entertaining.

The jab comes after Gunn’s Superman faced harsh criticism from The Daily Beast, who called the DCU reboot “terrible” and the “final nail in the grave for the superhero genre.”


The question is how much of a mess can it be?

The movie is just too questionable even from the start. If I were WB I would've gone for the Russo brothers... Aside just being directors this guys hardly involved themselves on controversial comments like Gunn whose mouth can't closed for minutes, and directing a character like Superman you don't need such...
There are many people out there who are ready to give this movie bad reviews just because of Gunn's controversial take on things and those people are not even Snyder fans nor Cavill fans either. Personally for me I don't ever like his way of directing movies. His movies lean towards to be too childish for my liking and it irritates me when I see movies ignore stakes.
I guess placing embargo on reviews till 3days to the release of the movie tells more than we know...

GotG vol.1 was a bit unique but the over used of cringe jokes downplayed so many great moments. Vol.2 was very very terrible, while vol.3 was decent at best...

I don't see any of my posts where I categorically say Snyder must be brought back and his movies restored, I was mainly against making DC movies MCU and worst part bringing someone like Gunn whose strongest point in making a movie is by injecting excess amount of jokes in order to tell a story. If I want to watch a comedy movie I know where to get them. There is a reason Captain America: The Winter Soldier still stand as, if not the best MCU movie but top three best MCU's movie till date.

Whether Gunn success comes from MCU and CBMs or not means nothing regarding his competence in directing... as a matter of fact, that's the concrete evidence that Gunn is good with CBMs, his work on GOTG, Peacemaker and Creature Commandos, augment that fact more, unlike Snyder that failed when it came to CBMs. Imagine his terrible handling of BvS. Even his MOS had mixed and controversial reception. What does this mean? Gunn, unlike Snyder, is the right man for the job as the head of the DCU, and has a high chance of creating a successful DCU franchise, unlike Snyder whose DCEU started failing from day one due to controversy and underperforming BO numbers. Funny enough, Snyder had the perfect opportunity to create a massive franchise with Rebel Moon but failed unlike Gunn that created a flourishing GOTG franchise, that's the man (Snyder) that people like you think is better to handle the DCU like Gunn... keep on dreaming 😂.

Talking about TSS, it's ridiculous that anyone will bring BO performance considering the fact that the movie was released in the COVID-19 era, hence movies turned to stream, TSS inclusive. For Christ sake, no industry analyst used BO performance to determine a film's success in 2020/ 2021, rather they used streaming performance and critical reviews. This is just common sense. TSS, by COVID-19 standard, was a highly successful movie; very high streaming performance and positive reviews.

Spiderman: NWH was an anomaly... the exception. Such is synonymous with reality. There are always those very few cases that tend not to go with the rule, it's just life. Aside that, if you're going to obsess with Spiderman: NWH, why don't you also explain the poor BO performance (unprofitability) of The Eternals and Shangchi, despite them having mixed and positive reviews respectively. Look 2020/ 2021 was a rough year for the movie industry thanks to COVID-19, hence studios were turning to streaming, TV, home videos and PVOD for revenue generation. About Gunn's BO performance, why don't you list out all the BO and review performance of Gunn and Snyder films for comparison.

Only GOTG 1 is good and did have a better box office numbers the rest were not impressing, cause if you're truly intelligent you would have know the trajectory of how most MCU trilogies worked.
