Whatever you save will of course not live beyond that current log-on session. They will be deleted once you shut down.

FIX:

If it's a non-domain computer, (I mean your own personal machine that isn't joined to Active Directory on any corporate domain), the first and most elementary step would be to log in in "Safe Mode" and then shut down the PC (don't restart).
Put it back on and then log in normally to see it it ceases to register a temporary profile for you.

If that doesn't work, try to change your sign-in method. (Try PIN for instance instead of a password).

If the preceding steps don't work, then search for and launch "regedit.msc" from the search bar on your desktop, right-click and run it as an Administrator and navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionProfileList"., Once there, check for a folder bearing '"ProfileImagePath" directing to "C:\Users" and completely yank it off. (I assume you have only one profile besides the default local admin account)

NB: If your PC is on a corporate domain (and joined to AD), contact your Windows Server Administrator.
It should take him/her less than a minute to fix that. (by just disabling and re-enabling the account)

One of these should fix your issue if there's no village intervention.
