Chioma1989: All these YouTubers! Is that these Nigerian ladies and women are jobless and lonely, putting up unnecessary videos about Canada just to get traffic? I am sure this ugly thing is talking these trash from the comfort of her home in Canada. Leave people alone to make their choices.
I have the feeling that most Nigerians in Canada don't like more Nigerians to come over to Canada. They hate when they see more Nigerians making the journey, including the relatives they left behind when they made their own journeys. All the points she mentioned does not hold water at all. Very shallow thinking. |

buygala: I don't stand with #EndSars..I stand with #ReformSars particularly and #ReformtheNigerianPoliceForce..
As e dey go now, the #EndSars protests have been hijacked by Yahoo boys, prostitutes protecting their Yahoo Boy Customers, and even armed Robbers, kidnappers and murderers
I detest SARS Officers for their high-handedness and abuse of power, but these SARS guys are a part of the Police force particularly dreaded by hardened criminals....this is because these criminals know these SARS guys are also hardened crooks themselves and are licensed to act swiftly and ruthlessly to curb crime
You don't cut off your head just because your nose is ailing SARS as presently constitited have abandoned their primary assignment of apprehending armed robbers..after all SARS means "Special Anti-Robbery Squad...they have now taken or upon themselves to do EFCC's Job of apprehending Yahoo boys abi na suspected Yahoo boys, and have extended that to harassing citezens who make the mistake of appearing fresh, young and have the guts to have laptops and phones on them
That nonsense must stop...but that does not mean SARS should be scrapped..They are an absolutely necesary evil
In the whole mad hysteria which is the #endsars protest, Nigerians forget that there are more deadly police departments like the SACS (Special anti cultism Squad) IGP X-Squad Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad .
All these Squads are very joyless and are fully licensed to be as brutal, if not more brutal than the SARS Everyone is shouting about.. If the Police want to be mischievous, they will disband SARS and move all its officers to these other deadly squads for them to continue 'the Lord's Work"
Shebi i have read of a case where Soldiers connived and kidnapped a young boy in Imo State, under the guise that he was being arrested on arrested on suspicion of being a Yahoo Boy..
After kidnapping the young boy and forcing him to pay more than 1million naira to them, they killed the boy, dumped his body in the bush, and made away with his Lexus Es350 car..This happened late last year abi na this year sef..
Because of that, why haven't we called for #EndNigerianArmy?
I still remember how some officers of the same Nigerian Army killed many policemen while aiding the escape of a fugitive kidnapper in Taraba State..
We didn't call for #EndNigerianArmy because of that..
Point is..the fact of the existence of some Renegades in an organisation does not make that organization totally useless or worth discarding..
If the #EndSars protesters are truly serious, let us also end Nigerian Army because of their atrocities as well God punish you for this stupiid comment. |

Excessnation: you don’t always have to spew your ignorance around, I am talking based on the interactions I have with people, my friends and family members who are also making it big in Nigeria. I understand that it’s not everyone that is made for the stress that comes with making money in Nigeria, but that does not take away the fact that people are making serious money in Nigeria . Excessnation: You see what I am saying, when you don’t know something keep quiet. I am not talking because I feel like talking, I am saying this because it is what I know, I see it everyday I go out, I have elder ones who talk to me. There is money in Nigeria, keep your eyes down and you will see the opportunities glaring at you in the face. Everyday I go out I see a lot of opportunities that are untapped and these are what this foreigners are seeing. There are also billionaires in Nigeria who made it without having to step an inch outside, it’s all about looking. I wouldn’t want to give you my business ideas if not I would have opened your eyes to somethings. Look at our population, don’t you think it’s an asset. Read about Chinese billionaires and you would understand how they put the high population into good use. "There's money in Nigeria" .. "They're billionaires in Nigeria" bla bla.. Look there's money EVERYWHERE dude not just Nigeria so stop spewing this trash as if it's some grand achievement - the real question is, what does Nigeria as a nation have to show for this amount of "money" that seems to be falling from the sky? "Billionaires" accumulating billions of useless naira notes in their bank accounts but still suffering the collective poverty of a failed state. A country where basic necessities of life in other nations is luxury here only afforded by the "rich". A country where despite the amount of billions some 1% of the population have access to, they still have to travel to other nations to enjoy basic amenities like good hospitals, schools etc.., they still go give birth abroad to secure a foreign passport for thier children because they know Nigeria has gone to shiiit! Sit there and be bragging about less than 1% of the population who are sitting on Nigeria's wealth yet have to pay heavily to enjoy the same level of basic comfort that working class and middle class immigrants in a developed nation have access to by default. |

Think9ja: To an average black man (especially a Nigerian), money is everything.
I'm not saying OP should stay or go but all those people talking about investment.... Money is not everything, peace of mind is! Some salary earners abroad have more peace of mind than some so called billionaires in Nigeria.
With your billions as a Nigerian, you'll still drive your car on bad roads. You'll still use generator or inverter to power your home/office. You'll still live in a city with very poor town planning system and architecture. You'll still face SARS/security intimidation.
No matter how much you think you have in this country, your peace of mind is not guaranteed. Dangote should drop his security and walk on the streets of Lagos or live in ikorodu and see what will become of him Yes, you can hire a security guard to follow you everywhere you go but to what end?
You need to live in a country where you can be anything you want to be. You need to live in a country with good town planning system and architecture. You need to live in a country with stable power, water and other amenities. You need to live in a country with good infrastructure. You need to live in a country with some good recreational facilities. All these things help prolonge life.
But in Nigeria.....
You'll apply to study law, they'll give you political science or sociology. You'll apply engineering they'll give you physics, etc.
This country kills dreams. In twenty, twenty five years, all those migrating now will look back and be grateful for their decision to leave Nigeria.
This country bad, asin, e bad. And it will keep getting worse. But unfortunately, we think once you have money you're ok, which is not true. Spot on. |

LeeSantos: ₦8m won't last him a year a abroad. he's a student. that could go a long way here in Nigeria if he invest well. let him conduct research & feasibility studies on what & how to invest wisely.
it will only take him time to make more million. but patience, dedication, and management is the key. Enough of silly blanket statements like this Invest in what exactly? I'm tired of people like this who come on nairaland, talking bogus bullcraap as if investing in some imaginary 'thing' in Nigeria is guaranteed a return in investment. Mention one industry in Nigeria that isn't overrun with nepotism, tribalism and corruption - where you are guaranteed to be successful no matter your age, gender, background, status or who you know. This is how people will be leading folks astray with false hope. @OP, Nigeria is a country where nothing works and you will lose that 8million in a heartbeat if you're not careful. |

Ungrateful people everywhere, he tried sponsoring your movement to the UK the first time it didn't work now you sponsored yourself to the UK yourself as a result of the invitation he offered you. You spent 4months in his place of abode without contributing a penny for the upkeep of the house. You're no relation of his for starters and you came up with this rape accusation, when all evidence points to the fact that you are lying. These girls of today no get conscience.
But this Doc brain cells are seriously not functioning. You just met a girl on line and you are already sponsoring her to come to the UK, are you that lonely and randy? If you check well you'll see he has relations who he is not rendering any form of help or assistance to, so I don't pity him he deserves what he got.
Infact both of them are bereaved of their senses.
That's all. NEXT!!! Exactly! He's a very lonely man unable to attract a woman in the real world. Why do you think he spends all day on twitter ranting like a biitch on every blawdy topic? If you see this guy in real life ehn. You go shock.. alright in the face but got the stature of a 7 year old boy. No woman wants that... trust me! |

Same Dr who appointed himself judge, jury and executioner over other men who have been falsely accused? Hypocrite! See the poorly drafted letter sef Spineless doctor who couldn't get laid in 5/6 years of being in the UK so he had to import a girl from Nigeria in a desperate bid to finally have sex. The local mgbeke girl thought she had hit jackpot when she finally got a chance to meet the "popular doctor" in the UK but was so disappointed when she eventually saw him in real life and saw that the guy is so short, effeminate and frail in appearance. This is why she couldn't bring herself to have sex with him more than twice despite chopping free food and living rent free in his house for 4 months! |

Despite this huge salary, this man still decided to resign & left Nigeria with his family (wife & 2 kids)to Canada. He asked his boss why he took such step despite the fact that he's doing fine in Nigeria, he was amazed with the response of his boss, the man said "I DID IT FOR MY KIDS". Does that mean he sees no future for his kids here? Does that mean there's nothing to hope on here? Does that mean the man is not being patriotic? Too many questions running through my mind on that. You call N250000 a "huge salary"? I hope you realise this approx $645 a month |

Travel › Re: Planning To Relocate To Jamaica by Snaagg(m): 6:12pm On Jun 08, 2020 |
Bros, I've never worked in Jamaica before but I have visited a couple of Caribbean countries on lengthy holidays. (Antigua, Barbados and St Kitts)
What I've observed about the lifestyle there is:
1. They are very mellow people who don't take life so easily. The environment is serene and they don't have the same gra gra hussle behaviour that Nigerians have. They are very content with simple living i.e. someone can be a pineapple cutter on the beach and have no desire to move past that level because no one cares whether you're a "big boy" or not.. they treat each other with respect irrespective of their career choice.
2. There aren't many corporate jobs there and the few that are available , their own citizens are prioritised over other nationals.
3. Most of their economy is powered through tourism so most jobs are available in this sector. Therefore you may have more of a chance getting work in this area.. e.g. tourist guide, hotel manager, airport shuttle driver etc..
4. Unlike in Nigeria, they look after their own. They practise "job sharing" a lot - a job for one person can be shared amongst 3 people just to make sure unemployment is low in thier country. Also, foreigners may also struggle to purchase a home there as they have policies around keeping their properties amongst the locals. You can always rent tho!
4. They are friendly people but Nigerians have a bad reputation there. I got to know this via numerous conversations with locals who started bad mouthing Nigerians once they got to know I was Nigerian. They think we are all crooks and scammers and were surprised to see "normal" Nigerians like me and my lady. |

In a new revised budget, the National Assembly complex renovation budget was allocated N27.7bn whilst the Basic Health Care Provision Fund, which is meant to cater for all the primary healthcare centres across the 774 local government areas in the country, was significantly reduced by N44.4bn to N25.5bn - basically slashed by 42.5 per cent. The Universal Basic Education (UBE) fund was also reduced by over 54.25%, from N111.7bn to N51.1bn, by more than 54.2 per cent, according to documents obtained by Dataphyte, an open data organisation. The UBE is a reform programme aimed at providing greater access to quality basic education throughout Nigeria, seeking to ensure an uninterrupted access to nine-year formal education by providing free, and compulsory basic education for every child of school-going age.
