spyder880: I think the reasons for choosing 9" blocks for the external walls is only because of the decision for parapet and not for the roof weight. Sometimes, it's a better practice to provide for eventualities like a fascia which rests on the external walls and columns by using 9" blocks which will enable a wider column on the external part of the building. So many variations to reasons for 9" block external walls Honestly your reason is a very nice one. But from my years of practice and little knowledge about structures, colums sized 150mm centered at the right spacing can adequately carry the load of concrete fascia. BC Specified the use of 9" blocks for a reason for suspended floors. It is good if we also use it for bungalows, but not necessary as many portray it to be on here. |

true2home: you are fine Sir. What most people does not know is that the exterior wall actually carry's less load that the partition wall in the building itself. The exterior walls usually carry's half the load that sits on it and in some cases, even a quarter of the load. The partition walls in the middle of the house carry direct loads from the roof squarely. Read up on Tributary Areas on columns for more details... Engineering!!! True. Often times i see them shouting 9" block for external walls on this section, i just laugh. Most internal walls also carry load same as or even more than some external walls. Someone asked who made it a standard, no congent answer was given. |

abdulwastecx: How can the people agitating for restructuring be greedy?
How can a state like Lagos that generate the buck or non-oil revenue (0ver 60%) receives lesser money than a state like Kano state that contributes close to zero and with anti investment policy( they don't allow alcohol, they don't allow gambling and these are the major contributors to the supposed money they come to Abuja to collect on monthly basis)?
How can oil producing states that financed over 80% of our budget be greedy for demanding to have more controls or total control of the resources available in their land, a supposed resources that pollute their water, rendered their air contaminated, areas with more challenging terrains to build infrastructures? They deserve to have a 100% control of the resources in their land. I am from South west and from a state with no oil resources but restructuring is the only way we can put more people to work.
The 'status quo' needs to be changed, the era of inflated population by a section of the country to gain political power and more money from the federal government need to be stop, the era of do or die politics to become a president and occupy other federal political positions in other to loot needs to be stop and the only way we can achieve this is through 'true federalism'
People agitating for resources control or restructuring are not mostly from the so called south eastern and Niger deltas, but rather they are consigned young Nigerians that as grown delusional of lack of opportunities due to poor governors resulting from a flaw central system of government where a section of the country do all the work while the other part lord over, promote primitive ideology and always want to dictate the pace for the nation
I am a Yoruba and a Muslim but I want a restructured Nigeria where every section can grow at their own pace, where the central government wouldn't be too attractive for criminals so that every elections year Nigeria will not always be at the edge of disintegration, where the ethnicity or the religion ones follows will not be a yardstick for selecting one for elected position at the federal level The bold got me Too much sense in this post, if only our leaders would reason this way. This your comment is just too sensible. I loyal sir |

everyman: My point exactly. Asides my not having enough funds needed to push my plan through, this is why I'm reluctant to start on a small scale. The uncertainty surrounding the business environment in Nigeria is massive at this moment.
Although I don't consider it "buying a job." Dont listen to all those telling u to invest in business. U need a good foundation & flair to succed in business, when your money goes down the drain, u wont see all these pple advising u to do business here. I am also interested in this ur idea, would like to reach u privately so we can plan together. But u served 2016, how come your mum is already having high BP? Me dat finished 2011, my mum is still very relaxed...tell your mum to keep calm bro...before she lose her life for nothing...but i will like to reach u, i am also interested in this...interview don tire me.... |
Family › Re: Help!!! Should I Go On With My White Wedding? by snakebeat: 7:22pm On Aug 12, 2017 |
PaperLace: Dear OP,
Whether you cancel the white wedding or not _ you're already married. Marriage isn't relationship where you can waltz in and out as you like. It's an oath, binding on both parties.
Be careful how you bring your issues to the public, considering that your mind is currently fragile. The general rule, may not apply to your situation. I don't think any responsible married person would tell you to walk away so soon. I have domineering in-laws too, your wife's whole family can never be as rude as my FIL alone _ but you handle such people with wisdom (now that you're already married). If you weren't married, I would have said run.
The early days of most marriages are like this. One person will always see the other as a demon, while painting him/herself as the angel. You are not an angel, I am sure your wife would sound just as bitter as you, if she creates her own thread. What you have to do is win your wife to your side. Once you genuinely win your wife to your side, she would handle her family.
The last post on your wife and SIL, you didn't do well. If that's your own attitude, then you and your wife need orientation. Why does your wife shout? Is she a mad woman? Has she always been like this? What is she always shouting about?
My husband also doesn't know how to discuss in low tones, he must raise his voice. I used to join him, until I sat and thought about it _two people no dey mad at the same time. He did it again and I ignored, I politely told him he is embarrassing US and we would talk when he is calm. He still repeated it and I used all my self-control to keep ignoring.
One day, he called me and asked why I have been refusing to get angry. I started laughing and we had a talk that changed a lot till this moment. People like that know what they are doing to a good extent, the best medicine for them is to show them how normal people express themselves. Don't come down to their level, don't go begging unnecessarily _ just express yourself firmly. When you do this over and over, they'll come to revere your silence and few words.
You mould your spouse to be who you want them to be. There is really no perfect spouse at first, but we mould them to our perfection with time.
Captain your ship as best as you can _all with the dignity of a king. Having problems at the early stage of marriage is bad sign ooo. Such marriage hardly last. |

DrWise: Thanks to everybody for all the compliments.
@Guyman2, I need to ask my group members if they are willing to take another member because we are 50 already. I have over 30pms but once I'm done, I would add you.
Feyernord and Juve 1X would play. Those teams are actually the surest. More green.
@ Mlondon. I would consider your warning. Don't consider that guy's advise, he is a selfish being... Do what works for u & don't listen to anybody If one whatsapp group has reach limit, u can create another one, whatsapp doesn't charge for groups. U can decide to drop different games on each & it will give more people the opportunity to appreciate u. Not everyone is selfish & ungrateful. But in all, i will advise u to post games here, it all started from here, all those shouting dont add pple to whatsapp once played the games u posted here before joinng whatsapp grp.... But u are good, i mean predicting games to be played with 100 naira aint easy...Kudos.... |

michaellondon: My only Dr. of Punting.
1. I remixed that game 6 times and 2 casted I have 4 left, I'm already being offered cashouts of 86k, 73k, 45k and 96k. How did you know that Chelsea would cast and you avoided it?
2. I have warned you several times to stop dropping games here, not everyone would be happy for your success. Just like the other guy said, some people have been praying fervently for the ticket to cast. Please stop dropping code. Even guys in the group have said it
3. The people praising you here were the same people cursing you on Thursday or so.
4. This place is evil, let's go back to WhatsApp where we flow like a family even though I am on lowkey there.
May God bless you and your family. See how selfish humans can be!! How will this one help his relation, talk more of a friend. Going by your comment, if u were to be Dr. Wise, Even Dr wise himself won't be benefiting from u U won't even create a whatsapp group U will prefer to chop alone Your selfishness is legendary.... |
